        One should always be prepared. You don't have to go to a great deal of trouble & expense, you simply need to keep a good supply of food in the pantry & make sure you have a constant water supply. Other survival gear can be justified as a recreational activity.
        Moving off the grid may be a big step for some people, but this event is as much about quality of life, quality of living as it is about survival.
