The ration for 18th century soldier really packs a lot of nourishment within it: A pound of beef, fish, or even 3/4 of pork or ham, a pound of loaf of bread or flour, corn, milk, beans, beer etc. Several ingredients to cook an array of old fashioned dishes; like roast beef, corn bread, hot biscuits, hot bread.. I wonder if they even made some pasties.
