Banana Leaves Against Rain

    When an unexpected rain pours in the farm, the banana leaves are used here to shield you against the rain. There is a trick to this. You get 3 banana leaves and connect it at the stem so the middle will be the center and the 2 outer leaves would be the exit of the water. That style of using the banana leaves can serve as the umbrella while walking to the nearest safe place. And when the people reach their home, they use the banana leaves as their plates so it will not be wasted.

    Good point.. You can also use gabi (taro) leaves, preferably the big variety called palawan.

    Ahhh~ Memories. We used to do this with my cousins when we were kids specially when we are on the way to school or going home and it begin to rains. But in our local neighborhood, I still see this kind of umbrella substitute. :D
