    Now this would be a very useful skill to know. How to create, and repair your own footwear. It's another example of how people have become specialists and most do not know how to make sure we have the most basic human needs.

    I think in a lot of end of the world movies, when they show people in the future, they usually have some sort of animal skin laced to their legs by means of ropes or leather straps.

    Wow! Talk about your new designer footwear.

    Well let's face it, how long does modern footwear last these days?! Sooner or later you are going to have to make your own or go barefoot. The problem will be for most people, that they will not know how to make them or even how to make a pattern. If you make them now, then you will be carrying that pattern & the knowledge of how to make them with you.
