I have been hunting with muzzle-loader guns for roughly 40 years. I have taken Buffalo, wild boar, goat, & rabbits. The flintlock muzzle-loader is economical to use, versatile in a smoothbore, easy to use & sustainable in a wilderness situation. It is easy to make you own ammunition & spent round ball can be retrieved from shot game & re-moulded.

I have two 45 Cal barrels that have never been put in a stock but I may try to trade them to the guy that owns the backwoodsman mag for a multi year subscription to the mag if you don't get that mag you would like it

If my memory serves me well I was using 90 grains of 2FG in my .50 caliber to hunt buffalo. I used to get pretty close in though, waited concealed along the buffalo trails.
