When lost in the wilderness or forced to stay there due to other reasons like disasters or calamities, root crop is my best bet. Howevr, even if root crop can grow wild, it is rare and difficult to find. One tropical root food is Tugi, it is like taro in taste but the plant is a vine which has thorns. Natives in the tropical mountains know that root food and it is one of their staples. Boiled or broiled, the Tugi is nice to eat.
