Trump seems to be doing what I wanted him to do, which is delegating power to those with experience in their area of service. He has chosen several military brass folk to fill high positions -- we'll see if they are approved. Had they taken office, any of the socialist candidates would have destroyed the Supreme Court and thus the U.S. Constitution. There are so many agencies within the U.S. Federal government that are utterly useless or overtly dangerous; we'll see how much of this lard he trims.

Trump needs to get the military services back up to strength for today's unique conflict types. The military needs to have sufficient funding to execute proper training (which is particularly true in high tech areas such as pilot-training/fuel/maintenance for Air Force wings and navel vessel maneuvers).

There is not much Trump or anyone else can do for the continued value of the U.S. dollar -- its backing is gone, all Western (Europe, Great Britain, USA) banks are leveraged well into default levels. The world's economy is on the brink and it is too late for any person, persons, or even wizards with supernatural powers to solve. When the SHTF, "whoever owns the guns makes the rules" will apply for several years / maybe decades. Behind the scenes, nations are buying gold = new international oil currency push ("dump the dollar").

Actually, I feel a bit sorry for Trump. After he gets the REAL debriefings, I'm thinking he'll be feeling more than a little bit sick at having won the election. Obama & the Clintons had no gag reflex whatsoever. Obama's goal in office was to punish the West; he really hated Great Britain and Israel for whatever reason(s) -- was probably due to his education in Indonesia (a former Western colony whose people took up arms to fight for independence). I do not doubt that Trump is pro-Western. I just wonder if we have simply come too close to the abyss for any solutions -- today's circumstances appear much like the very matter of the universe being sucked into a black hole.

I was hoping, as a political outside, Trump would be smart enough to surround himself with subject-matter experts and put them in the proper places to do the most good. I'm very optimistic about his appointment of General Mattis. I've been unable to find a service member, who either worked under him or knew of him, who doesn't have a favorable opinion of him. He appears to not only say what he means, but means what he says. In a world where no one is willing or able to speak the truth, this is desperately needed. The quote from his confirmation hearing, "Frankly, senator, I've never cared about two consenting adults and who they go to bed with," is huge. The question that was asked on him honestly had very little to do with his job, and he told the representative in no uncertain terms that it's outside of his area of control and he has no business commenting on it one way or another. This was something that we've been lacking in politics for a long, long time. We're generally lacking this in the media and popular culture, as well. The phrase "I'm no expert, but..." gets thrown around a lot these days. It should just be "I'm no expert." Period. This is a shift back toward that, and I like it.

That being said, I'm far less optimistic about some of his other picks, especially any of those associated with "alt-right," Aryan Nationalists, etc.

That which is going to be "interesting" for America, is the fact that it is now irrevocably divided. Just in the press today, a U.S. Congressman stated that the election was invalid, that Trump is not to be considered as leader of the Executive branch of government. This was a black Congressman, therefore an individual having great influence on the black community. Obama is not leaving Wash D.C., the mainstream media only publishes anti-Trump stories, and many Leftists are calling for "action" against the "invalid" government. This doesn't exactly speak to our going out, holding hands, and singing "Kum Ba Yah".

Here in the States, I feel that we should now expect divisive events to turn into major riots. I'm thinking that the racial pressure-cooker is going to blow. A dollar collapse would most assuredly cause the USA to descend into civil war. I am dumbfounded that the euro still has value. When the euro plus the old currencies of individual countries collapse, Europe and Great Britain are going to turn into something unrecognizable involving flames and blackened skies. The euro fall will boost the U.S. dollar ... but not for very long at all. Eventually all nations will be sucked down into an apocalyptic Charlie Foxtrot.

"And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth."

I can't see a civil war happening anytime soon. It's simply not that bad. And the few places where it is that bad even joined together couldn't pose a threat in the long term, and not much of one in the short term. The military in particular would come down almost 100% behind the current admin, along with the vast majority of citizens who possess firearms.

I would worry far more about a terrorist attack on the electrical grid or a major event like the State of the Union address or the inauguration. Or worry about a huge increase in international terrorism.

When the dollar tanks, with what will men and women in uniform be paid? History shows that armies can be paid via war booty / looting, however this results in an "every man for himself" atmosphere wherein the needed chain of command begins to come apart. For decades, the U.S. government has stored back a printed alternative currency, a replacement currency. No one will take replacement currency in trade unless some soldier holds a gun to his head.

Should America experience a civil war, there will be precious little organization to it. The first civil war was rather organized. Civil War II in America will be ugly, there will be no battle lines, all actions will skirt chaos, and there will be no winner. Heartland America will fair best. The urban areas will burn. Expect enumerable refugees -- those that won't fit into the FEMA camps. Government troops -- the handful who remain loyal -- will attempt to force areas of Heartland America to take-in such refugees. Tens of millions of Americans will not be able, in any way, to cope with this much psychological stress -- they are much too weak.

Not living in America and reading the news that is permitted to be released (news, post-censorship), I totally see your point.

The division we who live here in the States witness is absolute.

I live not very from a major American university and have done work for them. Today that University had a campus-wide walkout to protest the inauguration of Donald Trump. Several professors led their students to that rally. I wish I could speak to some conservative students so as to determine the pressure they felt to knuckle under to university authorities who support oppressive centralized government. "Big Brother will protect you! Communism will defeat religion and capitalism!" Christian university students take a lot of heat and their professors will not protect them -- often it is the anti-religious professors who publicly humiliate Christian students.

Meanwhile, the people of Heartland America want their jobs back. They want to be trusted with the personal ownership of firearms -- be treated as an adult, not considered a child in need of protection. Most Americans living in urban areas are tired of violent flash mobs invading stores and shopping malls, the constant threat of being mugged and/or raped, the threat of riots, plus the constant stream of home break-ins. Major news organizations portray middle-class white Americans as crude, stupid, and out to oppress racial minorities.

To those who are citizens of other countries, I am telling you that the current USA is a pressure cooker without a protective blow-off valve. When America pops, it is going to be way past ugly.

I think it is OK for an economic to become a president but it would be preferable for a more experienced individual to assume the position of the president of the US, the possibility of him maintaining the seat of power is lost and it can result to a constitutional crisis because of his policies and mode of administration of the United States.

I don't get the Trump draw! Yes, he's a good businessman and a billionaire, but he's made his living bullying the little guy. I get that it's the number one rule in business but it's off-putting. Where's the diplomacy? For goodness sake this guy says and does what he wants, with little consequence. I would think that as the President he would have a little more finesse. He can rule with an iron fist and intimidation but it's not the way to do things. I think the polls are actually accurate on how people view his performance. He's a poor representative of the U.S. and other countries are taking notice. The world already views us as a country who plows over others. He needs people training, STAT!

I think it was a colossal mistake!

Sincerely, I still can't understand how a person like him was elected to a position of such importance to a whole country. It's too much responsibility for anyone who has never had any experience in any political office.

What happened to the people who decided to elect him? Do you really believe he'll make America great again? C'mon!

Well, probably it is true that we get biased coverage. However, it doesn't change the fact that what coverage we get puts him in an extremely negative light.

Good for him to keep making deals that secure jobs for people in the US. He's gonna have to keep his credibility up if he wants to make it through his term...

Toughest job in the world to be POTUS though. So you've got to give him some credit for that!

well trump seems to be stirring up things in the white house. I can't say I agree with everything, just like I didn't agree with the last 4 presidents we had, but Trump is making some needed changes in the white house, all and all it's to soon to say how he's doing as a president.

Honestly, I thought it was a pretty good idea because I despise Hilary. However, Trump has definitely messed up with most of his policies so far, and he is very likely colluding with Russia, which is ILLEGAL. Our president should never be allowed to do anything illegal and not have any consequences. They need to investigate him.

President Eisenhower wasn't a politician and made a good President.
List of U.S. Presidents that weren't career politicians.

George Washington (General of the Army of the United Colonies)
John Adams (Vice President under Washington)

Zachary Taylor US army general )

Ulysses S. Grant (U.S. Army General)

William Howard Taft (U.S. Secretary of War, territorial governor of the Phillippines)
Herbert Hoover (U.S. Secretary of Commerce)
Dwight D. Eisenhower (U.S. Army Chief of Staff)

George H. W. Bush (U.S. Congressman, U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Director of CIA, Vice President under Reagan)
Trump is a premier business person.
Running the U.S. IS very much a business.

    Good attitude.
Trump won an election and snowflakes need to quit whining and
    get over it.
We survived 8 years of b.j. Bill.
Hillary and Bill came out of government multi millioniares.
Oil rich Arabs donated many, many millions to Hillary's campaign.
That came out just prior to the election and I think it hurt her.
    So did Benghazi.
Certainly the voters remembered b.j. Bill's infamous live t-v lie to
    the American public.
" I did not have sex with that woman........................................."
No one cared if he did have sex with Monica. He lied about it is what turned
    people off.
Really Monica's picture should be on bags of Kibble 'n bits.
    But whatever.
Does anyone really believe Hillary is done with politics?
Not by any stretch of the imagination.
I really believe a lot of votes were against Hillary instead of for Trump.
We survived the corruption of at least TEN U.S. presidents.
    Trump at least isn't corrupt.

I have noticed that the liberal media and that's most of it feels free to denigrate the POTUS any and every way!
Yet they get all offended when he treats them the same!
Trump is no softcock like the last president just being a puppet!
Trump has a set and he uses them!
Trump is the wade ashore in the lead sort of guy not a lead from the safety of the rear sort like the last!

Yes, Trump is a billionaire and a businessman who seemed to have taken advantage of people who weren't able to respond to his bullying tactics in his business dealings with them. He is now the President and he seems to want to run the Presidency as if it was his own business. He has just been disrespecting people left right and center because he can do it.

I have to agree. There are several points of Trump's government that I do not agree with but he has something which is needed to every country leader and still is greatly lacking in most of them: Courage and decisiveness. Without it any government becomes a puppet in the hands of others.

    I see it different!
The democrat media has been disrespecting him ever since he became a contender and it has just got worse since then!
Is he not entitled to a return serve?
It was the democrats that organized protests and those protesters demonstrated disrespect for the law as well as trump!

The only opinion poll that counts made him president yet his enemies can not accept defeat!
And his enemies display there stupidity by not accepting defeat! therefore aiding his re-election in 4 years time!
If I was his enemy I would be preparing for the next election by finding a better candidate than hillery!

I am not American so am just a spectator in all this and I care not about democrats or republicans!
But never in my entire life have I seen media publicly and continuely ridicule the president of any country on earth!

I call that "TREASON" and the only penalty is death!

Stalin would have slaughtered tens of millions by now!
Hitler would have gassed about the same!
Pol Pot would have sent a similar amount to the fields to just vanish!
Mao might have killed a hundred million by now

Yet Trump tweets a little in return and he is evil!!
    America is truly doomed!

Yikes don't get me started. I can't stand that guy! He has no more business being President than I do, and probably less. He is such an ugly, nasty, petty guy. I don't see as such a big deal as some people have made it. He won the election because obviously a lot people thought he would be good for the job even if they don't like him. He han't done anything wrong since being elected so I don't see why people are still upset.
