Will Everyone Want To Survive?

One would think that the need to survive would be normal for all animal life, but is it? One woman told me that if she had to use a gun to protect herself then she would sooner die! I just watched the movie "Deep Impact", a very real scenario. But in the movie, some people just gave up & waited to die, others committed suicide.

Do you think this is a very real possibility? Will some people just give up or even kill themselves rather than give survival their best shot?

yes, I have heard people say on many prepper forums that if its that bad they don't want to survive, makes me wonder why they are on a prepper forum in the first place?
I fully expect the suicide rate to sky rocket in the weeks and months following SHTF.
