In the prepper community and even newbies are prepping for the global collapse . Some people had rather cling to the pep rally talks and believe in just a few more weeks this s-it sliding down the hill will stop and everything will return to the pre " greater depression days " so are only trying to survive for a few weeks . Real preppers think farther than a few weeks . What as of lately have you done to fortify for the " greater depression " ?

    Good morning Poltiregist,

Last year I've received terminal news so my preparedness won't benefit me. This place is outfitted for a few years against natural calamities such as hurricanes. Advanced-level prepping requires a professionally staffed medical clinic with the needed pharma, etc. This is restricted even for the medical doctors and dentists.

Major Margaret H.L. Houlahahn's (Loretta Swit) 4077th M*A*S*H, APO San Francisco, 123456, wasn't too different than the stateside hospitals. Today, in Virginia, this is restricted by fiat.

At the end of week one of November, I can give you a clearer response.

Looking for a better place to hide. I have long been of the opinion that having everything that a person could ever need, is of no use, if you don't have a great place to hide. Most people can't think past their current residence as their premium/survival hide location.

Also.......vigorously attempting to get my mind "right". That is to say, mentally foresee the shocking speed of the initial impact on others reality. I suspect the first shock to the new reality will be the most difficult for the mass of humanity to survive. When the mass of humanity comes instantly to fully understand that having toilet paper to wipe their ass, is the very least of their most pressing current problems. That is the part I want to hear rumor of, and not be with-in sixty miles of observing.

I try.......and I try......to imagine the horror and reaction of the masses coming to fully grasp that no one is coming to save them, and they are considered disposable.

My prayer.......Please Lord, if it must be......have it start the first day of May.

I don't have much option but to stay where I am, I have 6 or more places I could relocate to but they would only be temporary not suitable for a long term situation, I don't have the finances to relocate. mind you most British preppers say I have bugged out already as I used to live in a city but left 20 years ago and now live in a rural area, remote but not isolated.

Over the last couple of months or so our group has installed a water pumping station powered by solar panels to pump water from a spring up the mountain to more assessable holding tanks and then gravity feed it into one of our homes . A solar system to run refrigerators and freezers installed and functioning on two of the three houses now on the premises . Bought the solar panels yesterday to start installing a third solar system for camper one of our group and his mate plans to set up . Likely will be clearing trees today and getting ready for the camper with a water line and septic system . We are in the process of building about a acre to one and a half acre size chicken pen so as to protect the chickens and give them enough ground to feed themselves . Enlarged gardens planted . We have lots more stuff ready but that was already in place before " the greater depression " . ----- update - the size of that chicken pen has been reduced .

A place to hide need NOT be in the wilderness. But.......must be available, and previously discovered, or previously built. It could be a root cellar, a crawl space, attic, the flat roof of "Johnsons Hardware Store", an old 14' box truck. Most people think in terms of their home being the safest, I think of the home as "BAIT" station.

I don't want to be in the cabin/house when the attack comes. I want to be in a cleverly located small tool shed that allows clear view of the cabin/house and the most likely route the problem will approach from. Or in a children's treehouse.

Let them breach the cabin/house.......now they are trapped, and they are easily dealt with as they leave.

Long-long-long ago I discovered a "B" grade movie, "Mr. Majestic" which I think is currently free on Amazon.com. I noticed when he was attacked, he did the exact same thing grouse hens, and "Killdeer" birds do to protect their newborn chicks. He carefully leeds them away. To where he has hunted deer for the last 30 years. It is a classic "Rambo" movie, from roughly 20 years pre'Rambo. My point being that they first attack his home, with 80 machine guns, and two million rounds of ammo, but he leeds them to where he has some advantage.

I have essentially aspired to replicate that basic concept with my several "Fall'back" retreat locations.

I prefer 4 walls and a roof, in the UK the safest place is your own home- unless you live in an inner city of course!! survival in the UK will be different to survival in the US, some similarities of course but many more differences. different attitudes to a crisis will apply.

We all go that way, kinda sucks I guess. We come into this world crying and we leave about the same for some. That great beyond is something I can't even fathom in this world's understanding. Lost many family members to cancer and with that, FUCK cancer!

    Good morning F22,

Preparedness allows for management of major matters.

The quality of my preparedness I cannot judge.

Unfortunately, I think that a "Great Depression" will only be the beginning of our problems.

Does anyone care to guess when the anarchy will begin, in various places? USA, Canada, Australia, Britain, etc..

    Good morning NoExcuses,

It would assist some here - at least me - if you define the word "anarchy" you're using.

I can say that Yukon's Beaufort Sea and Canadian Forces Station Remote will not be lost to anarchy when there are Forum participants here. If lost the Forum will only have robot participation.

My area here is already a fortified corridor zone. Drones and other aircraft are all over. Waterways have craft that will send any anarchists to locations outside planet Earth.

The sooner it starts......the sooner it will be resolved, one way or some other way. We are going to have a horrific "Reset". The sooner started, the sooner over. It may take a few years, or may take a few decades.

There will be little if any "Anarchy" happening in remote wilderness Alaska or remote wilderness Canada. If you have employable skills, you might consider relocating to a very-very-very rural tiny town in Canada.

Our financial system is held up by the worlds biggest Ponzi scheme. When it crashes it will crash hard. Frankly, I’m surprised the scheme has held our world together as long as it has. I could easily see us being in a world of hurt really quick. Distance between the crisis and you is the key to survival. The greater the distance, the better.

    Anarchy? Not anarchy? Hmmmmmm........

This will give Leftist control-freaks an excuse to register-then-confiscate more firearms, keeping the sheeple down on the government farm. Not a baaaaad deal for the collectivists.

Trust in uniforms gets a bit thinner though, doesn't it.

Whereas the collectivists love a bit of anarchy and terrorism. I really don't think they know just how psychosis-inducing things are going to become.

Unarmed people burn down buildings. Unarmed people burn down government buildings. Unarmed people burn down government buildings with government workers and officials in them.

No mass-shooter can get done what an arsonist can get done.

By anarchy, I mean people not having food, and then going ballistic. Attacking and killing one another in a desperate search for food.

The new system will be as follows: Take our vaccine, and receive lab grown meat in return.

We already saw what happened and is happening in Venezuela. The only difference being we have loads of guns, and with that can uproot a menacing draconian government. With the president on our side I think it's fair to say governors better wise up right quick. An insurgency is a very hard battle to fight.

    Good morning NoExcuses,

Thank you for telling of definition you're using for "anarchy".

The more traditional, basic definition is absence of a political apparatus for area, population control.

Yes, it is anticipated that if political disturbances get violent, food, drinking water, electricity, electronic communications, health care will be absent in some areas - by design.

I am a US Army veteran of the 1960's urban riots.

A couple of guys coming from the power company tomorrow to our retreat . They are to look at my son's electrical power system . He is producing enough electricity to start selling it to the power company . They are bringing a special meter to change out from a regular meter . My son's prepping is on a very serious level .

What happens if their meter fails? Do you still have power? Are they able to monitor or meter the electricity usage on your side of the meter? In the past the utility company could REMOTELY read the meter and only god knows what else.

    Your DNA sequencing.

No, smart meters just report its electrical usage via a frequency to some place so that lazy meter readers don't have to read it.

The new meter will not effect the electricity made or used . The set up allows power from the utility company to flow into the house if the home made electricity should fall short of the usage . The electrical power flows out when excess power is generated . The idea is for them to decide who owes who money after multiple months .

    Good morning Poltiregist,

In last few days - actually last few weeks - my final preparations have been ... not finished yet ... to load up on the immunizations. Three weeks ago got the new flu shot for this winter's flu season. Also got shot one of a two series of the new shingles shot. Thr pnenuma shot is on hold for my bod's immune system to recuperate from whatever it's doing now.

Was told the flu shot takes 2 weeks to build the antibodies. Was also told elsewhere that my immune system take 4 - 5 weeks to recover.

All else: ready ... and any improvements defeats the emergency response rule to "Minimize detail".

I joined this forum a few months back. Since then, I discovered Neville Goddard's teaching, that imagination creates reality. I have seen plenty of evidence in my own experience since then, that his teaching is correct.

As a result, I don't think I'll be doing too much in the way of prepping.

    Listen to Neville's teaching here:

We are allowing our fear of a FLU to destroy our economy. In the end, the costs in lives and money from the fall and riots will far exceed the cost had we just nutted up and kept working as we have in the past when other diseases caused problems. When people become so weak that they would rather die hiding than out and fighting it maybe death is a mercy to them. When you stop living you are just a dead man walking. Sitting in your house afraid to go out if you do it too long is little more than a living death.

I HATE the masks. They are almost totally a social psychological placebo. They fined a guy the other day for not wearing his mask correctly. He has already had and recovered from COVID and really has no need for a mask at all. He can't catch it and can't give it to anyone...??? What most people wear and how they wear them offers no protection to others from them and NONE to them from others.

The actual mortality rate for healthy people under the age of 60 is not much different from any flu and not nearly as bad as some of the REAL pandemic Flus of the past. It IS a killer among the old and those that have compromised immune systems. Let us old timers stay at home but the rest need to go to work.

    Good evening TexDanm,

Here, too, don't like the masks requirement.

My personal belief it that the masks are really for "social conditioning" than to minimize respiratory infections.

I say this because the eyes must also be covered and DIY masks are of insufficient quality. Infections could be slowed if the citizenry wore professional-quality masks like N-95 / P-100 with eye protection. Those, like me, that can't wear form-fitting masks due pre-existing respiratory ailments must be deemed invalids and cannot enter stores. Of course, the health care programs such as Medicare and Medicaid would experience an overflow of expansions - completely unfunded and not going to happen.

If masks were really that important for this pandemic protection, annual flu shots would be mandatory just like state health departments will arrange to stop someone with TB working in a restaurant.

Now I don't believe the US response to the COVID-19 pandemic is destroying the US economy - although it does destroy some blocs within our economy such as 26 million losing their jobs. The US response - includes the face masks - is being used to restructure the national economy. Roosevelt did this ... stretching out a recovery from the Great Depression for nearly a decade.... What's the big headaches in the US economy ? One, for example, is the public school program. Another is overcapacity in the US flag airlines. Another is the restaurant and hotel trades ("hospitality industry"). The US COVID response addresses aforesaid. The results are not yet in.

Thr above April 2020 article provides a little history of getting economic changes to occur.

I was at the VA hospital Thursday and the staff only wore mask when a patient was there and my doctor flatly admitted that the mask were useless but she wore one when "necessary" to keep her job. I took mine off and she then removed hers. I wanted to laugh. Social conditioning all the way. Another thing I found out which makes me think this is being manipulated. The VA will not check any vet for antibodies to COVID. If it was as bad as stated, wouldn't the government want to know who has antibodies/natural immunity?

I expect the supply chain in all areas to break down way worse than when covid 19 came upon the scene . With the looting , burning and killings likely to escalate very soon and that on top of the Chinese virus manufacturing and transporting anything may come to a grinding halt . The electrical grid may also be a target for the deranged Democrats . When the pampered and unprepared face life when their artificial world ends their reaction will likely be destructive to those around them . Those in a rural and well prepared bug out location will have the advantage over the panicked and desperate sheeple .

When, not if, the supply line breaks, then the unprepared masses will become the new "Lord of the Flies". They will turn on each other so fast it will be impossible for the government to respond, much less bring the people back to civilization. Urban and suburban communities will disintegrate into starving bands of murderous sub-humans. If somebody does not leave their house, then their neighbors will think they are hoarding food and attack them. If folks do leave their homes, their neighbors will break in and rob them.

Isolated rural families and MAYBE a few small community farms will bunch together and be able to deal with the supply line break down. Even rural towns will not go unscathed, as too many will be merchants and service people. Not enough towns people will have the experience, tools or supplies to become an agriculture community. Starvation will take a heavy toll.

Virginia's socialist governor Northam and his wife have gotten the Chinacovid. The governor's wife got cold symptoms and the governor didn't even have symptoms. This is the fellow who panicked his state and severely damaged its economy in so doing.

These anti-Constitution Leftist autocrats see the Chinacovid virus as a political tool and are using it as such. Born-again secular humanists LOVE to wring their hands, so Leftist controllers use these turbo-neurotic sheeple as fodder for the voting machines -- them and absentee-ballots gathered in the graveyards. "I am your latter-day Jesus, vote for me!" and so the sheeple do.

    Good morning Old Geezer,

What out illustrious Governor Ralph Northam, M.D. is infamous for - basically restricted to the political class and their followers - has little to do with his theology, his firearms politics, or the other stuff prominent in the news.

    He was recorded making a positive statement on infanticide when discussing abortion. He saids he was misunderstood and was precluded from clarifying his statement. Regardless;

It is a very, very thin line between infanticide and euthanisia.

A few of us Vintage Virginians just got our new senior citizen flu shot - the high octane one for the elderly.

Some senior citizens here - at least those I listened to - posed the thought that the newly pending COVID immunization might have a senior citizen variety to thin out the Social Security roles.

How do you say the nation is on edge ? Our television society lacks a trustworthy political figure.

As some know in some countries the air has a distinct smell resulting from the diet of the residence walking around there . In three or four months don't be surprised if the air where you live smells like sh-- . That is because toilet paper will again be scarce to non-existent for purchase as the supply chain folds up again but this time expect it to likely be much more severe and with no end in the forecast .

    Thus representative government.

It matters not that I am vested with whatever abilities of whatever nature. If I am honest with myself and am knowing of my community, I will be forced to admit that I know a person better versed in the matters of the day; atop that, one who is much more articulate than my own self. My community deserves the best voice, the most wise voice, to be heard in the congress of my land. If one thinks they are the best voice then let them run for the position of representative -- maybe the community will elect this person. It is their choice. However, to imagine that the entirety of this community and worse, the totality of all communities, to possess the wisdom and the energies to vote on every jot and tittle of a nation, to vote on matters that must not be leaked to the enemies of that nation, to vote on matters that are by nature decidedly complex as viewed by the most intelligent, again to imagine such is but pure madness.

"We are a Republic. Real Liberty is never found in despotism or in the extremes of Democracy."
    - Alexander Hamilton (1755-1804) Lawyer, Secretary of the Treasury & Secretary of State

"Democracy will soon degenerate into an anarchy; such an anarchy that every man will do what is right in his own eyes and no man's life or property or reputation or liberty will be secure, and every one of these will soon mould itself into a system of subordination of all the moral virtues and intellectual abilities, all the powers of wealth, beauty, wit, and science, to the wanton pleasures, the capricious will, and the execrable [abominable] cruelty of one or a very few."
    - John Adams (1797-1801) Second President of the United States

"Democracy is the art of running the circus from the monkey cage."
    - Herman Melville (1819 - 1891) Author, short story writer & poet

"Pure democracy cannot subsist long nor be carried far into the departments of state, it is very subjet to caprice and the madness of popular rage."
    - John Witherspoon (1722-1794) Educator, Economist, Minister, Writer

"Under democracy one party always devotes its chief energies to trying to prove that the other party is unfit to rule - and both commonly succeed, and are right."
    - Henry L. Mencken (1880-1956) American journalist editor & satirist

"Democracy: The worship of jackals by jackasses."
    - Henry L. Mencken (1880-1956) American Writer

"Republicanism is not the phantom of a deluded imagination. On the contrary, laws, under no form of government, are better supported, liberty and property better secured, or happiness more effectually dispensed to mankind."
    - George Washington (1732-1799)

"When once a republic is corrupted, there is no possibility of remedying any of the growing evils, but by removing the corruption and restoring its lost principles; every other correction is either useless or a new evil"
    - Barron Charles de Montesquieu (1689-1755) French political thinker & writer on separation of powers of government

"Democracy means simply the bludgeoning of the people by the people for the people."
    - Oscar Wilde (1854-1900) Irish Playwright and Novelist

"A democratic government is the only one in which those who vote for a tax can escape the obligation to pay it."
    - Alexis de Toqueville (1805-1859) French Author

Oh heavens! I forgot a most important quote! Dotty me!

What is hidden away now days is that the democracy that we now live in only has the vaguest resemblance to the one that our Founding Fathers created and intended. their primary aim was to create a form of government that would not become oppressive and intrusive into the lives and aims of its citizens. As soon as the Government was taken over by politicians instead of citizens serving in office the professional politicians began to change and erode it.

The purpose of making it a confederation of independent states instead of a Republic was to maximize the freedoms of people in different parts of the country to live as THEY saw fit rather than live under the rule of an aristocracy that had never even been to where those people lived.

Originally only property owners voted. The idea was that if you had not reached the point of success where you owned property you didn't need to vote. This was done to avoid what we see now where people are voting for cake and circuses and spending money to which they do not contribute. At that time there were no income taxes so the government was run from taxes paid by property and business owners.

That was eroded away even before the freedom of the Slaves and the right to vote given to the Black men. Women regardless of color did not vote. Until nearly midway through the 20th-century women could not own property in many states. Native Americans did not vote. Now, EVERYBODY votes and in some states that includes people that are not even American citizens and include in many state criminals that are IN PRISON.

I remember when they gave the vote to people under the age of 21. Hell, they might as well give it to the kids now. My Granddaughter turns 10 tomorrow and is as well informed and as smart as almost 90% of the people that are going to vote for Biden.

God Bless that poor man. He is in the terminal stages of dementia and just lost. He claimed that he got his start in higher education at Deleware State University. He has been there. He has done the commencement address there twice. He NEVER attended there...IT IS AN ALL BLACK COLLEGE!!! He didn't do this recently, he did it in 2019. Regan was in this stage of Dementia for at least the last year to year and a half of his second term. Nancy fed him his lines and kept things running. I didn't like him staying in office past his ability to lead the country but can't IMAGINE electing someone in that stage of mental decline!!!

I have never been a fan of his but I respected him. I'm sorry but if he is elected we need to stop voting. we would do better to pick by lottery. At least then we MIGHT occasionally get an honest person with a double-digit IQ in office.

The reason for the Civil war was that Lincoln was a REPUBLICAN and wanted to destroy the idea of a Union. The Confederate Constitution was almost a copy of the ORIGINAL American Constitution only with stronger guards against what was happening to the Union. His plan was to never return rights to the Southern States and to use his power to take it from the rest of the Union. He believed totally in the need to establish the Republic Of America. we are heading in that direction again. It is funny to me that the Democrats and Republicans have almost reversed their beliefs in my lifetime. They then have slid off to the extreme of both the left and the right. The Democrats are almost pure socialists where the least are the most important and those that work and are a success are vilified. The Republicans are pushing for a nation owned and ruled by the Rich. Those that are poor will be treated a lot like livestock and have nothing and no power of any sort.

We need desperately to have a reset. The majority of people are not out on the wingtips of the American Bird. They are in the middle and the body of the big Bird is totally unrepresented now. The Republicans take care of the entitled rich while the Democrats seem to focus mostly on the nonworking entitled poor. Those of us in the middle are left out in the cold and will be slowly weeded out if we don't grow a pair of gonads and stand up for ourselves SOON!

"For every complex problem, there's a simple solution - and it's usually wrong." H.L. Menchen

    Good morning TexDanm,

There were reasons women could not own their own property. Until the end of the 19th century, women were routinely dying during childbirth. The family estate - actually here meaning the assets, were just too unmanageable with extra transactions - and taxes - to settle last wills and testaments. Of course there was a delay from the time of safety in childbirth to the allowance for women to own their own property (Women fem sole as to her own personal estate). It's that our institutions, governmental, social, political are cumbersome, ackward and did I mention safety from death taxes ?

Not following the view that Lincoln sought to disestablish the Union. He signed the Pacific Railway Act on 1 July 1862. This required a Union under the exclusive control of the national capital.

MEGA is inspirational. I do not believe it can be aspirational - at least for 4 to 5 generations from now. Our population has changed. We have a different society. I do hope I'm wrong and that Team Trump can kick @$$ and get the nation working again.

    https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/a...fed-will-double-qe-2021-it-just-need-catalyst

"Is Another "Crisis" Imminent: The Fed Must Double QE In 2021 But It Needs A Catalyst"

"One certainly can't blame the Fed for not doing enough to stabilize markets during the covid crisis: having expanded its balance sheet by over $3 trillion this year alone and injecting $120 billion in liquidity every month, the US central bank - which is also buying corporate bonds and junk bond ETFs - remains the first and last line of defense for any equity drawdown.

"As an aside, and for those asking why the Fed continues to "confuse" markets with the economy, the answer is simple: since the value of financial assets in the US economy at a record 620%+ of GDP, for the Fed capital markets are the functional equivalent of the economy since a market crash would destroy the highly financialized US economy, and thus can never be allowed.

"There is just one problem: after a year in which the US budget deficit hit a record $3.1 trillion, and with the US facing a deluge in new debt issuance in 2021 which has already led to the biggest October deficit on record and which at $284 billion suggests another full-year deficit of well over $3 trillion (assuming no further lockdowns)... ... the Fed's current rate of debt monetization - read QE - is simply not enough.

"In short: the Fed needs to more than double its scheduled monthly QE in 2021 just to catch up to where it was in 2020.

"And now that German opposition to out of control debt-funded stimulus has effectively been neutered, it is only a matter of time before Lagarde announces an expansion to QE which will ensure that the ECB monetizes 100% (if not more) of all net issuance in Europe ...

"Which brings us back to the Fed: with the RBA, BOE and ECB all set to monetize 100% of domestic net issuance - in other words, central banks will henceforth fund the entire sovereign budget deficit which is what MMT and helicopter money is all about ...

"The only question is what crisis will be used as a scapegoat for the next massive QE expansion: as a reminder, the covid pandemic emerged in at a very convenient time for the central bank - just as the business cycle was set to go into contraction, with the Fed having launched "Not QE", and with rates at a tiny 1.50 (which are now back to zero). And thanks to the $3 trillion "covid" liquidity injection, the Fed has effectively reset the business cycle for the foreseeable future. It just needs to do so again, and we are completely confident that Powell and company will be completely successful in finding the right crisis to blame it on."

    Good afternoon Old Geezer,

I still say much of this pandemic is for use of a FDR rework of the US economy.

Remember kids stayed in high school until ~ 18 y.o. so as to keep the labor force a small as could be tolerated. FDR had to create jobs and it helped to have young adults in school "learning" Greg Shorthand and when Jamestown colony was founded.

In reply to the Zero Hedge scapegoat question:

    My list has 4 events that can be used individually or several at same time;

    1. A flareup at Gaza Strip that mushrooms throughout the Sinai and into Cairo.

    2. A President Biden rehabing John Kerry's JCPOA - pallets of cash to the Islamic Republic of Iran. Israle already announced a nuclear Iran will not be allowed. Saudi Arabia supports Israel's position. So does Trump.

    3. A flareup on the Korean Peninsula that mushrooms.

    4. Taiwan gets invaded / liberated. I am now in the mood for some fried rice with mushroooms.

The US will be mobilized - military - responders - critical personnel - malcontents and trouble-makers rounded up. Economy goes into a war footing (Translation: private citizen assets get smaller - much so).
