The limited to non-existent supply of reloading components is why I have shifted to air gun shooting. No powder in stock, no primers in stock, no bullets in stock, and no brass in stock. That pretty much puts a major halt to reloading.

One item category that I put back was rifle primers.

Warning: Primers are susceptible to oil contamination. Therefore, seal-up stacks of primer packs.

I have a precision air rifle (German; .177) for small game/birds. Have stacks of pellet tins of various weights and configurations. I have a so-so power air rifle, .177, I sight that one in for the heavier pellets -- velocity is under the speed of sound. Though not particularly accurate, one could knock a hole through a dog's skull with it.

Side note: If you hear a pellet crack -- break the sound barrier -- this is due to dieseling. Pellet oil has gotten into the compression chamber and has exploded under pressure. Dieseling will blow the seals out of your air rifle.

For survival purposes, bait birds and small game. Bring them in. Shoot them.

If some unprepared person wants to share, then it's shotgun or deer-rifle time.

Saw four very fat squirrels fighting around my peanut donation (bait station) location. Worst come to worst, the air rifle is going to bring home the squirrel bacon. I put the peanuts out late at night (not supposed to feed the wildlife) and by the time I get up, all the peanuts are gone. Now I know who or what has been feeding at this free buffet. My new pellet rifle pressure rating is 4300 psi / 300 bar and is chambered in 22 caliber. I changed my mind on the 25 caliber, due to a smaller ammo selection. 22 caliber pellets I can even get at Wally World.

OG, thanks for the tip on pellet Dieseling. I will be very careful in regards to maintenance. I will have two water /oil inline filters between the compressor and the rifle fill chamber. Since this is my first venture into PCP rifles, I will gladly accept any and all tips, hints and suggestions.

Dieseling, just use pellet oil sparingly (pellet oil has very high combustion temp).
I've wanted a .22 pellet rifle, but I've gotten good with the accurate .177. Plus, a good .22 air rifle is not in the budget. Have purchased bricks of subsonic mega-quiet super-accurate ammo (Eley). What I have will have to do.
F the law. Feed the wildlife. One day you'll feed on them. Nothing beats squirrel gravy; I'm serious, so help me God, squirrel gravy is just dynamite. Why? I don't care; they just taste good. I do however HATE dressing them; their hair sticks to the meat fascia like super-glue.
