Germany dosent need to send an army to France any more, it is well known that Germany runs the EU, they rule Europe without firing a shot, and France always does what the Germans tell it to, so that is why I said "history repeating itself?".
we can debate WW2 until we are blue in the face but neither of us was there so its just a history lesson.
for the record, my grandfather served in WW1 (Devon and Dorset's) he was at The Somme- wounded twice but survived , my father served in WW2 (Royal Artillery), as did wife's father and mother.

Actually my generation probably knew more about WW2 that the people that were involved in it. They only knew about the place that they served where my generation was raised with their memories and we were massively indoctrinated in it. I studied the battles and troop moments that those involved never knew about and after the war they had little interest in rehashing it other than the part that they played. They fought it but we studdied it.

most Brits who served in WW2 didnt talk about it afterwards, either because it was covered by the Official Secrets Act or because they just wanted to get on with their lives and forget about it, or both.

    Per what Tex just said:

US supplies to Britain were core-critical, thus the German mass U-boat offensive against American merchant marine vessels heading to the UK.

    https://www.historylearningsite.co.uk/world-war-two/war-in-the-atlantic/the-u-boat-war-1940/

"The History Learning Site, 18 May 2015. 7 Mar 2021. U-boats were to play an important part in World War Two. Winston Churchill claimed that the U-boat war was the only time that he felt that Britain might have to contemplate surrender. Submarines had made their mark in World War One – now, just twenty years later, the impact of the U-boats was devastating."

    Canceling civilization

    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/20...mith-targeted-by-blm-inspired-slavery-review/

"Adam Smith, known as the 'father of capitalism' for his seminal works on economic theory, including The Wealth of Nations, has drawn the ire of the Scottish capital’s local government, a coalition between the left-wing Labour Party and the left-separatist Scottish National Party (SNP).

"In the wake of Black Lives Matter protests spreading to the United Kingdom after the death of George Floyd in America, the city council launched a review of historical monuments, place names, and other memorials for 'removal or re-interpretation' over alleged links to 'racism and oppression'.

"On Saturday, The Telegraph reported that Smith’s grave in Edinburgh’s Canongate Kirkyard, as well as his statue on the Royal Mile, have been added to the list of sites tied to 'historical racial injustice', despite the fact that the 17th-century Enlightenment thinker expressed opposition to the use of slave labour."

    Good afternoon Old Geezer,

At least we're now learning that the White Cliffs of Dover are discriminatory.

Up north, Black Watch plaid is discriminatory.

Must not forget that Saint Andrews Univ discriminated against Wizards and Witches.

I grew up watching TV shows and movies about the War and the different theators of war that were fought in. We were truely in a WORLD war and there were movies and TV shows about all of them. When I was a kid we played war and all the boys had toy guns. I had a metal and wooden Thompson machine gun. I wish I had it now it would probably be worth something. Combat, Rat Patrol, The longest day an so many other movies and shows made sure that Americans at least for my generation would KNOW the cost of our freedom.

I just found these messages sent to me from " Tom Cotton " U.S. Senator from the state of Arkansas . It reads Iran is conducting a missile attack on a Saudi Oil facility . --- Another message , The Biden administration also is covering for Iran in attacking U.S. forces in Iraq . Biden officals are deflecting blame to Iraqis who are Shi'a

    Iran used proxies for attack.

    https://www.wsj.com/articles/iran-backed-houthi-rebels-say-they-targeted-saudi-oil-port-11615157185

"RIYADH, Saudi Arabia—Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi rebels said they attacked a major Saudi Arabian oil port on the Persian Gulf with drones and missiles on Sunday. Saudi authorities said the strike caused no casualties or damage.

"The Saudi Energy Ministry said an assault 'coming from the sea' had targeted petroleum tanks at the Ras Tanura port. It condemned what it called “repeated acts of sabotage and hostility” targeting energy supplies to the world.

“'All indications point to Iran,' said an adviser to the Saudi royal court who said he was briefed on the matter. He said it wasn’t clear whether the origin was Iran or Iraq but that it hadn’t come from the direction of Yemen."

    =================================

Trump had moved to list the Houthi rebels as terrorists. The biden administration reversed that order. The Houthis are now back to being happy out-of-the-closet aggressors. They have military strength due to Iranian support. These Yemeni fighters hold their own people hostage by not allowing-in foreign aid. Weak governments cave in to their ransom demands. The Democratic Party of the US supports the appeasement of Iran.

    https://www.breitbart.com/national-...cking-aid-after-being-delisted-as-terrorists/

"The Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen are blocking international aid to millions of suffering people, a State Department spokesperson told Breitbart News on Tuesday.

"The Biden administration recently de-listed the Houthi group from the government’s list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) explicitly in a bid to convince them to allow aid into the country.

"Despite the failure of the aid to reach those in need, the Biden administration announced millions in additional humanitarian assistance to the country this week.

"State Department officials asserted the February 16 reversal of the Trump administration’s move to add the Houthi organization to the FTO list was essential to allow life-saving aid from America and its partners to reach all Yemenis. The Houthi group’s terrorist designations came with severe sanctions."

It would be ever so good if military and police took their service weapons home with them. However, centralized governments do not trust their people, not even those in uniform. Too, god government cannot have citizens being independent of their divinity.

Recently, god governments in the West have made Secular Humanism their official state religion. One core dogma of this cult is that we are all born tabula rasa, blank slate; this is one of the big lies that is foisted on the peasants. We humans are more pre-programmed than we would like to believe about ourselves. Some humans are born smarter than others. Some humans are born physically stronger than others. Some are born with artistic gifts that are astounding. We are not born equal, save that we all have a soul and are given free will.

America is collapsing due to idiocy and false beliefs. Our crime rates inside our urban areas is going third-world. Urban Chicago is going Mogadishu. We are in much worse shape than Britain and continental Europe. Increasingly however, what we Americans are experiencing is growing in Britain and Europe. As Western nations bring in immigrants from violent regions of the planet, they also allow-in that self-same violence. America has its no-go areas, now the same phenomenon exists on the other side of the Atlantic ... and it is increasing in severity.

This phenomenon will continue to increase. The savagery that has already happened in England and Europe is not only going to continue to happen, it is going to go totally unbearable. Things are not going to just get better. Sweden is having to deal with grenade and bombing incidents. Street gangs shoot it out with AKs. Stricter laws are imposed on the sheeple, but they are not the problem -- except that the sheeple will not resist government in that they enjoy being sheered. Pretending that all people are carbon copies of each other is puerile. Savages (they come in all colors, witness the Russian Mafia, there's some knuckle-dragging Caucasians for you) do what savages do, irrespective of what is written in books of law. Past terrorist events are NOT in the past, they are the future. Riots are the future. The continued decline of civilized behavior is the future ... unless savage people are dealt with. Ignoring core problems in one's body leads to death. The same is true of civilization.

Prepare for civilization's demise -- currently, that's where we are headed.

People in the USA who are of European origin have the same crime rates as Europeans of European origin.

Where I live, almost every household has a firearm within and our crime rates are very low. America's high crime rates exist where people given to criminal behavior live, i.e. inner cities. Heartland America is armed to the teeth, yet murders are rare. Heartland America is mainly composed of civilized people -- they were born that way and raised with strong morals. The presence or absence of weapons does NOT change the behavior of people. Some people are given to civilized behavior. Some are not.

Shame is that within groups of civilized people, one will always come across those who are defective. Two decent parents can conceive a child that will never amount to anything -- so goes genetics. Then too, if you continually beat a decent child, you can create a mean person. It is much more difficult to make decent genetics go mean, than to make a marginal person go mean. God knows that where I was raised there was no shortage of "bad apples". Inevitably however, these throw-backs ran into the the law or other citizens who wouldn't take their crap -- the bad apples usually got disposed-of one way or another.

depends where one lives, where I live is very rural and fairly remote, the crime rate in this area of the county is next to nothing and nothing major .
I did my time living in a city and there is no way I would go back there.
when a civilization collapses it will first happen in the big cities.

I have guns in every room in my House. Having guns is in no way connected to using them inappropriately. What they DO reflect is that I am a free man and willing to protect my home and family rather than hide and hope that the government will eventually send someone to take a report if I am killed, robbed, or assaulted. My responce to a government that tries to take my guns is EXACTLY the same as it would be if a criminal tried to break into my home and take my guns.

"I am not in any way belittling the British contribution but by the time the US got in the war Brittian was in trouble. Not enough people in the military, manufacturing was being bombed almost daily and Germany was getting close to cutting it off from outside supplies.£

Your sort of right. We were not equipped in 1939 for war, small army, obsolete equipment and generals who'd not updated their military planning since WW1. The Germans had a larger army, better equipment and better generals.

Britain though had a large navy, the worlds best air defense/early warning system and the Hurricane and Spitfire fighter aircraft.

Bombing raids concentrated on London for two reasons, one to break moral and secondly it was within range, bombing strategic targets in Birmingham (the engineering centre), Liverpool, docks etc pushed the Luftwaffe to its limits so really we could not be bombed into submission, the RAF was good at its job and the Germans were loosing aircraft at an unsustainable level...they cut back a lot on raids after a while.

That said industry responded well, factories sprang up quickly, they were moved from cities and output improved dramatically.

That said I doubt very much we could have won WW2 without out help from the USA, not just the goods they sold us but the manpower that arrived later. I think (maybe wrong) that by 1944 US personal outnumbered UK forces by 3:1

The threat to shipping from the U Boat fleet greatly diminished after a while as tactics and sonar arrived.

I'm interested in WW2 history both military and civilian.

    Good afternoon Max,

The US was - unofficially - in the war since it started: Mukden Incident, 18 Sep 31. Remember the US was in our Great Depression with massive unemployment, a powerful neutralist political bloc in Congress and just not set up less the secret plans FDR was waiting to activate.

Before official US entry into WWII, USN vessels in Asia transferred "some equipment" to RN vessels in Asia. Other stuff going on also.

Recommend read the "Rainbow Plans", the 5 plans ... actually just 1 sentence statements ... for the US to prosecute the war.

There were a lot of Americans involved in the war from the beginning. They were flying out of China in the Pacific and were serving in militaries from Canada and such well ahead of December 7th.

The problem was that most of America really did not want to be forced into the war. THAT would have been a possibly fatal mistake. Had we waited we would have probably ended up fighting a war from the East Coast and had to deal with our coastal cities being shelled.

Basically, Japan just wanted the US to butt out of what they were doing in the western pacific. Germany on the other hand would have squeezed the US and shut down all of our industries that were dependent on exports to almost anywhere.

We had plenty of warning that Japan was going to hit us someplace. We were lucky that our carrier fleet was at sea and not parked in Pearl Harbor. The Enterprise and the Lexington were at sea and the Saratoga was in San Diego on December 7th so we still had our carrier fleet more or less able to defend our Eastern Pacific assets. The Yorktown headed from the Atlantic to the Pacific fleet on December 16th.As it turned out the carriers were the future and the battleships were the past.

At that time there was a lot of uncertainty about what Japan was going to do next. There was a lot of concern that they were going to invade Hawaii. They even printed new money just for Hawaii and pulled all of the current American cash out of the islands.

The people of America at that time were much different from today’s generations. They were much nearer to the land back then and most did not live in big cities. Because they were not so crammed together maybe they felt closer somehow. I know that even before we got in the war thousands of men were already involved and fighting. It was a different world then and people, especially young men were more than anxious and willing to serve even if we were not yet involved.

I'm not sure that nowadays we are capable of fielding an effective military as fast as we did then. Things are much more high-tech now and many young men now would not make very good soldiers. Vietnam left a bad taste in the mouths of men of my generation. I guess that many passed that on to their sons. Vietnam was nothing more than a gladiatorial contest between the East and the West. We never fought it to win and all of the lives lost were for nothing.

I suspect you are right . This especially would be my expectation when they realized the U.S. no longer has their back under the new regime . This leaves the British in a vulnerable position , ripe for the taking by any rouge country that wants to deal with possessing the country . China might be interested in obtaining some new slave labor .

I look at things in a realistic manner not a fantasy view . No doubt many British residents would want to try to not face reality and convince themselves everything is just fine and they could defend themselves . The citizens there don't even own personal weaponry and have zero shooting skills . As in the World War era they still depend on importing their food . Unlike the World War era just like many countries including the U.S. they have encouraged homosexuality and now would have a high percentage of girly voiced , hip swinging , limp wristed guys to defend their country . At the first crack of a bullet they would probably squeal and run . I know for a fact even here in the U.S. many physically capable " real men " , refuse to join the military because they don't want to have to associate with perverts .

    Good afternoon Max,

Do you know the Russian submarine route Murmansk to th open Atlantic ?

Do you know the location of the Chunnel ?

Like usual, only a few do and are "holding the fort".

I would not be shocked if the US portion of Holy Loch was reactivated. The EU set back the UK a solid generation.

There are about 600,000 active shotgun certificates at the moment and around 170,000 full firearm certificates active the UK and increasing. Gun ownership in the USA is hot wired into your DNA but most brits just are not interested. Its not that they cannot own rifiles (up to and including .50) but don't want a firearm and thats pretty much a global attitude apart from the States.

The US military has gone gay, encouraging gays to join? A challenge for you, next time you see a Marine walk up and ask if he's gay or how many of his mates are gay and I'm pretty sure you'll see things differently when the swelling in your eyes goes down.

Do they encourage 'perverts' and gay recruits separately then or are you lumping gays and 'perverts' into one group?

Poltiregist, your posts past and present show you to be a homophobic racist and I really would not like to associate with you. Your quite creepy at times and I'm so glad I don't know you or have you as a family member...no offense mate and have a nice day.

Max, I won't say the entire US military is gay, but I can say that the current and recent past recruitment by the U.S. military is skewed and favors the people from inner cities and major urban areas. It doesn't take a genius to figure out the different skill sets that those individuals bring to the services compared to individuals that enlist from rural areas. The obvious discriminations has gotten so bad in my home state that politicians have gotten involved as well as several law suits against recruitment centers for discrimination. One recruitment center doctor was fired for inappropriate conduct for conduct toward female recruits and making false reports on medical conditions of male recruits.

As far as asking a marine if he's gay,...I have said far worse to Marines and every other branch of armed forces just for shits and giggles at the time. I have fought a number of Marine's over the years (including my brother) but back at that time I was a different man (Commonly referred to as a lifer asshole, and a few others. LOL!). I'm old enough and hopefully wiser, so as to not seek fights over stupidity.

My last response has to do with the number of firearms registered in the UK. UK has 67,886, 011 citizens and all of 770,000 firearms.... My home state of West Virginia has all of 1,810,000 citizens and an estimate of 7,500,000 unregistered firearms. Mine is a "right to carry state" which means if you can legally own a firearm, you can legally carry it concealed. WV has a very low crime rate compared to the national average and that dropped more when the right to carry law was passed. I've never looked it up but what was the UK's crime rate when it's citizens freely owned firearms compared to current? Taking into account population differences. Maybe LW knows or one of the other members.

what we have to realise is that we live in very different times now to say just post WW2, most people now live in cities and have city attitudes, they are more interested in their coffee shops and foreign holidays than knowing where there food comes from, as for firearms most UK city people(yes there are exceptions )are anti gun and anti hunting, you can see that by the replies when a hunting article is put onto one of the national newspapers online.

I don't think most people in the UK are anti gun its just not a hobby they would ever think about, i.e. they don't give a toss about guns, as I said earlier gun ownership is only a big thing in the States. Anti fox hunting? well, lets be honest chasing a fox on a 'hunt' does seem a bit pointless really, chasing the animal for miles so a pack of dogs can rip it apart holds no appeal for me either; if a fox is causing trouble then just shoot it.

People are more interested in coffee shops and holidays? yep, and why not, thats what normal people think about and do; its everyday life for normal people and it would be a dull world if we all spent our lives worrying about society collapsing or China invading us for cheap labour (that still makes me laugh).

I'll get a full firearms certificate later this year when restrictions lift and rifle clubs open up again, target shooting appeals to me.

most urban people are anti gun-they just cant see a reason for owning one.
fox hunting? most of the time the hunt dosent even see a fox, the ones that get caught are usually the old and diseased ones, ever seen a mangy fox? its a pitiful sight.
most people just assume nothing bad will happen and so do not plan for it, but expect someone else to save them when it does go wrong.
nobody here spends their life worrying about society collapsing or China invading, but we make plans just in case.

Where I'm from, people eat what they bring down while hunting. Meat isn't cheap. Venison fills freezers and stomachs. Not all people are rich.

Having firearms can be a hobby; however, they are also for defense. I've kept "people" out of my house with my shotgun. Understand that in the US, one population segment that represents 13% of all Americans is responsible for 6x the murders and 8x the armed robberies of the majority population. Were it not for them, our crime rates would be the same as in Europe. The density of firearm ownership means nothing. What does matter is if people are or are not able to control their behavior.

Within 300 yards of where I live there was a home invasion. "People" from a densely populated city came to this agricultural area to rob. One of my close neighbors is back 0ut of prison ... again. I, in past, attempted to make friends with him. Then he threatened me -- wasn't a huge threat, were I young again, I could beat him until he sh## his eyes. But also there is the matter of when they gang up and attack. In high school, I was attacked by a swarm of them. What happened to me is in no way rare. It is all too common. We get swarmed here in America by those unable to control themselves.

We need no invasion from China. Our aggressors are already here.

The fall of civilization started at the point when we started supporting people that are lazy, unfit, and worthless. In the US people with a decent IQ have one or two kids while we PAY people too stupid or lazy to support themselves to have as many kids as possible. As a people each generation is getting less and less likely to survive any sort of bad situation.

I guess I cover all of the mentioned reasons to have guns and couple more. I used to hunt a lot and had a deer lease, I like having guns in my house for protection, I have way more guns than I need for hunting and protection so it must be a hobby, I have bought, sold, repaired, and modified guns for a living before.

I WILL die a free man and will take an escort to hell if anyone tries to disarm me. When a people are disarmed they are only free until someone says that they are not. Governments all throughout history have done this. They know that if you won't fight to have the ability to protect your family that you aren't going to fight for your freedom either.

Places in the US that ban guns end up being havens for criminals and you don't dare walk the streets in hours when there aren't a lot of other people around. I have always liked to walk at night. I've never slept much. I walk wherever I want to and have never, not once, been bothered. When honest people can be armed the criminals tend to be leery of people walking around at night.

Most of the time when you hear about people getting shot it has to do with criminals shooting criminals. Good people that are armed don't shoot people except to defend themselves from serious physical attack. You don't show gun, much less shoot someone, for calling you names or yelling at you. If someone sees me with a gun in my hand and pointing at them that will be the LAST thing that they will ever see. I'm not a cop and don't threaten with a gun. When it comes out I am defending my life and ENDING yours.

it will eventually get to a point where there arent enough people working paying taxes to support the ones that arent, then the whole system will collapse.

That is one of the things about the liberals that scares me. They think that they can always just print as much money as the need. I think this is because very few liberals actually WORK on the production end of industry. They sit in offices and things like that just sort of magically appear or are just made by the mostly useless workers. In countries that the liberals have totally gained control money becomes so devalued that it is worht less than good toilet paper. THAT is when people start to get killed. Why work if the money you make is neary useless and your family is hungey.

We are there now. Thus, the unsustainable debts of Western nations. All that holds things together is the pretense that the Emperor's new clothes are wonderful. America uses its military might to force people to accept the dollar; however, that is dying. This biden administration will see the dollar take a tumble. No one fears the U.S. now -- certainly not China who owns biden. biden is also going to raise corporate taxes. Corporations do two things when their taxes increase; 1) they pass the cost off onto their customers; 2) they lay-off workers. Economists are baffled by inflationary explosions when economies slow down, "That's impossible!" The Fed prints more money to stimulate the economy, but the people still will not increase their spending, leaving piles of dead money in the economy. No doubt many Americans will take their stimulus check and gamble on BitCoin or some other Ponzi scheme. Speculation ≠ real economic rebirth. No company is going to hire anyone. And too, service businesses will not be able to afford the increased minimum wage.

If anyone is holding fiat currency right now, go buy physical things with it. Fiat is finished.

I read that in rural England, farmers where having their equipment stolen. A farmer could go out to use a piece of farm equipment only to find it missing internal components to include entire motors.

Here's a positive article showing that some of the equipment has been recovered:

there has always been a certain amount of theft from farms in the UK, anything from Tractors to sheep rustling to diesel theft, its actually nothing new. most of the equipment gets stolen to order and is sent off to places like Eastern Germany or in the case of Land Rovers they went off to Saudi Arabia on a ship. farms are likely places for theft because of their size and remoteness and also less labour intensive so less people to spot the thieves.
equipment is also stolen from places like construction sites.

    Liberty down the toilet

    http://www.theblogmire.com/we-willi...yet-are-shocked-to-find-out-we-are-less-free/

"In the last year, because of irrational and wholly disproportionate fears of a virus which is not deadly to around 99.8% of people, we have allowed these ancient freedoms and laws to be taken away by those who have seized the opportunity to increase their powers. Indeed, the Government and so-called opposition, far from trying to allay people’s fears, as one would hope from good and responsible leaders, deliberately ramped up an extraordinary campaign of fear and hysteria, the likes of which have never been seen before. Why? The late Tony Benn can help us here:

“'There are two ways in which people are controlled — firstly frighten people, then demoralise them.'”

I'd guess the loved ones and families of the over half a million dead in the USA from covid would see fear of this virus as irrational?

Death rate for people like you Old Geezer is around 50% you happy with those odds?

In my age group, the Chinacovid virus kills 0.6 % to 1.4%.
Age 75-79 the rate is between 4.0% and 5.0%.
Age >= 80 yr the rate is over 10.0%.

Most days, I come in contact with physicians who've just been at the hospital treating Chinacovid victims.

One cannot live in fear. Mature men and women do not. That's the big difference between us, maxine. I am a man.

First, if an American in most states dies of the flu or pneumonia, their death gets put on the covid death list. In Florida, a young man killed in a motorcycle accident got put on the covid death list. Official flu deaths are down in America. Are there fewer deaths by flu? No. Their numbers get shuffled over to the covid list. Why, hospitals can get Fed money if they have significant covid deaths. Everybody wants to get on the government dole.

In our Chinaflu of 1957-1958, 116,000 Americans died. In that pandemic, children died. A big portion of the 116,000 were little children. The US population back then was half what it is now, so 2x that number = 232,000 dead ... a lot of them children. Children today are not anywhere near as being deleteriously effected as they were in the 1950s China flu.

    https://www.cdc.gov/flu/pandemic-resources/1957-1958-pandemic.html

And whatever the number, real men and women cannot be intimidated by an attack of an aggressor nation such as communist China.

You perpetually insult members of this site. In your state of psychological infancy, you have called me fearful. I prep, so I am not afraid. You should be afraid. Your Mommy government makes you jump through hoops to purchase an inadequate firearm to defend yourself and your son. Irrespective of communist mandates, we Americans keep our firearms and are willing to go to war to defend that right; and for what its worth, most sheriff departments and most combat military are on our side.

Your Mommy government will look the other way should "Asians" lay you wide open to bleed out -- this because your Mommy government is part of the New World Order. If citizens die, then that is part of the cost of political correctness. Your Mommy government has even attempted to play-down the horrors of "Asian" rape gangs who have violated well over one thousand of your little girls. And you take it!!! You have been successfully castrated.

You are no prepper. You rest in your delusions and denials. You are not one of us. You lack the maturity. You come to this site, prance about, and soil yourself. You are worthy of no respect.

"Still waiting on your response ..." -- minimax

No one on this site owes you anything. You are a member in name only. I know of no one who has a half-ounce of respect for you. You are even as nothingness. You do not count. How sad it is that your son has no father image. Maybe he has a stepfather who is a man.

It isn't worth the time it takes to respond. With him, same shit, different day. I gave up on him.

any animal going to the abattoir may be happy oblivious to its fate until the truth actually dawns by then it is too late. same with people.
we are all human on this forum, we have the choice of to prep or not to prep, to enjoy life and not care about what happens tomorrow, next week or next year, or we can plan and make preparations just in case something bad should happen, in the past even within my lifetime putting stuff back was common sense, now only a small proportion of the population do it and those that dont call them stupid or paranoid and other such names.
as we keep saying " PREPARE for the worst but HOPE for the best".
to a REAL prepper none of the above requires explanation.

Silly me, I was under the assumption that this was a pro-prepper site as opposed to a anti-prepping site where one gets put down for being a prepper.
