As we watch governments influencing what people conceive of what is right and what is wrong in their move toward a socialist one world government , we can now see the results . It indeed is influencing the way people think . We can see that even on this forum . Those that hold true to old values are now being seen as someone to be shunned and perhaps imprisoned . This trend has escalated tremendously in the U.S. since November 2020 . Perhaps you are a gun owner or amo owner the government is after . Perhaps you refused to give up your private land or home to the new socialist government . Perhaps you are a selfish food hoarder . Perhaps you refused to take the government mandated covid vaccine . Perhaps you defended yourself or family from a vicious gang or black lives matter group . The list of what will set off the crazy people now in charge of governments is unpredictable , irrational and practically endless . --- The point being a truly freedom loving , prepper / survivalist may find themselves on the run from the crazy and immoral in charge of the government . Any suggestions on how to escape and evade ?

Do you guys remember the movie " hard target " staring Claude Van Dam . When he was living in New Orleans on the streets and was appearing at this place each day to try to get a job for that one day . That place actually exists . I have been there to hire labor for a single day . No social security number , correct name needed by either party , just a work and cash deal . I personally know a guy that was living this life of going out each day hoping to obtain a job . He told me he was in a line of hopeful employees one day and the hirer was asking for a name . My acquaintance gave his correct name and the hirer laughed and said , " now that is an alias if I ever heard one " , well you came to the right place if you are on the run . My acquaintance had his job for the day . Actually my acquaintance was not on the run but had dropped out of society for awhile for another reason . --- Likely cash and work sites exist in other places but the New Orleans site is the only one I have personal knowledge . Government controlled employment offices would definitely be places to avoid by someone on the run .

Perhaps some would retreat to the remote areas to survive like the mountain men of old , like Jermia Johnson . Frankly though I don't think there are many on this planet that could survive like that year after year . Simply being the wild game these days are not as docile or plentiful . Even Native Americans found it hard to survive when the buffalo were killed off , for the very purpose of taking their food resource away . I would however be interested to hear from those that think they could duplicate the life of the mountain men of old . An old newspaper article that I came across - The Indians this year returned from their annual buffalo hunt but came back without finding any buffalo . Now is a good time to buy their land . ---- My present survival plan is basically the same as the early pioneers . It is based on gardening , hunting , fishing , and milk goats . --- Now take the milk goats and gardening from me and my situation would instantly become similar to what Native Americans faced when their buffalo were taken away . Being on the run would change every thing .

not many places to run to in the UK, not much in the way of Wilderness, maybe the Highlands of Scotland, the more remote areas of Wales, Dartmoor, Exmoor in the South West.
whether anyone could live long term in any of these places is questionable.
thats why bugging out is not such a good idea over here.

Dartmoor is only about 950 square kilometres, for our non metric cousins over the pond it is only about 26 miles from North to South. while there is some fresh water, deer, ponies, sheep and cattle the moor isn't big enough to escape notice for long, especially if you're taking someone else livestock...the place is currently full of city folk who are holidaying in the UK because foreign travel is such a pain in the arse at the moment.
Wales is in a similar situation, standing room only on the Brecon beacons and Snowdonia, compounded by the fact that huge areas are under military control as training grounds. There are very few places that even give the illusion of being wild and even they are heavily managed.

i can think of only 2 ways either head to another country or head to the woods. if you go to another country know that eventually they will find you there too. if you go to the woods hopefully you have a vehicle that you can stuff all your beans, bullets and bandaids plus tools and plenty of heirloom seeds cause you are gonna need all of it for sure. either way its not gonna be pretty for anyone on the run and wont last for long. more like as not just hunker down and wait for the inevitable.

If you head to the woods they will get you eventually, even after you're too old, sick or crazy from isolation to care they will still get you.
If you're going to try to hide in modern society then you will need a new/alternate identity. While identity theft for the purposes of fraud or making a false declaration in order to gain an ID or passport is illegal, it is possible.

most woodland in the UK arent that large, Sherwood Forest is a fraction of what it once was.
Dartmoor is 368 square miles but its open moorland, the only trees are around the edges and are owned by the Forestry Commission or are commercial woodland for the timber trade.
I'm not sure I would agree with the sentiment about going crazy from isolation, most problems stem from other people's actions not from one's own company.
as for hiding in modern society you'd need to lose all your documentation, driving licences, passport , credit and debit cards, and just take cash jobs-not sure if that is even possible these days- does anyone pay cash anymore?

Eric Rudolf evaded the FBI for five years living in the Nantahala Forest of North Carolina. What finally got him caught was dumpster diving. What a coincidence, that's how bears get into trouble with the authorities.

This article about Rudolf wants you to enable cookies. Ignore the message and it will go away. I have my computer dodge cookies, I select "read without cookies", and also kill cookies multiple times a day. Death to the evil cookies!

Here's info on the Nantahala National Forest. We've vacationed there. Very beautiful. As national forests go, it isn't that big, 531,148 acres (2150 square kilometers); but you sure can get lost in there. Rudolf liked the place.

It is easier to become the "Needle in the Haystack" vs the "tree in the forest". The needle (urban person) can still find work, shelter, food and all the regular survival needs by simply altering a few document. The "Tree" (rural off grid) person is going to have a much more difficult survival process. The Tree person will have to find cash jobs (fewer and far between in a rural setting) and keep moving around to avoid the locals getting curious about them. I know a person that simply transposed two numbers of his Social Security number and had no problem getting regular paying jobs. Granted he could not file for any tax returns but he said it was worth it to stop being harassed by a past legal judgement. I have a suspicion a past ex-wife was also a motivator.

Problem is that Western nations are using facial recognition cameras / software in major cities. Like in the USA, Homeland Security is always looking for known terrorists -- especially in cities like NY, NY.

Helps to have friends. Eric Rudolf got help from rural folk because he blew-up an abortion clinic and that they couldn't argue with. Me, I hate folk that use bombs, because who knows who is going to get hurt. Nelson Mandela's murder victims included a woman and her little girl -- he bombed a marketplace. Military units do everything in their power to be surgical in their strikes. Tossing bombs and Molotov cocktails should get you shot. Rudolf killed a security guard at an Olympic venue as I remember -- I don't care that he called in a bomb threat, that was dirty.

Thanks to the China virus, masks are now common place. Cowl / scarf facemask even covers the ears, neck, jaw line, nose and of course mouth. Add a pair of mirrored sunglasses (cool look), and a hat and the facial recognition software is not going to have much to work with. Do not hang around government facilities. I doubt the government will spend much time trying to discover who the guy with the hat, sunglasses and face mask was at the local grocery store.

With all this "Gender" identify movement, you could even claim to be a different gender and employers are not going to questions it, for fear of offending.

I prefer to be a tree in the forest. There are a LOT of people living in the rural areas and they need people to fix their stuf just like the folks in the cities. I made a good living fixing things in mostly rural areas. I probably traveled more miles but it was worth it. I liked the folks that I worked for and they paid me REAL well for my services. I charged a 50 dollar service call and then 50 dollars an hour after the fist half hour. I was cheaper than most and also was fast and didn't run up a bill on people. I generally had all the work that I could cover.

Working in a city has problems. Your truck will get stolen if you aren't careful and there are parts of town where you may get robed. I worked small town and country for about 30 years and never hadany problems. My customers were my friends and that is how I treated them. I never had to deal with trafic or working for people that I didn't like. I may not have made as much as I could have in a big city but then again it didn't cost me as much to opperate as it would have. Most of the country folks like to do business in cash and that worked well for me.

I live surounded by the Sam Houston National Forrest. It is a peaceful place to live and to work.

Ah yes but you were not on the run or trying to hide. As you pointed most of your customers KNEW you. The PTB would not have had a hard time locating you.

trouble is trying to get customers whilst on the run, you may have to advertise for work and that may defeat the object of being low key.
when I was self employed my customers didnt walk up and knock on my door I had to advertise in the local paper, on the plus side 95% of my work was paid in cash.

In the UK there is no compulsory form of ID, the most common sources of a digital image to compare to a cctv image would either be prison record, driving licence or passport. Missing persons photos tend to be family photos, school photos or social media.
If you make the effort to take control of these images of you then there is no starting point, nothing to compare with so it makes it far more difficult for authorities to identify you.
If your name is relatively common, as mine is, then filtering an Internet search becomes a massive undertaking...even more so if you have the same name as a minor celebrity.
If I did have to hide then I would choose to do so in plain sight.

Where I grew up it at least seemed to me , everyone in the county knowed me . Then I moved hundreds of miles away to start over at my present location . I enjoyed the anonymous status of my new living location and thought it might remain that way . I was wrong on that . I find it a bit unsettling about the number people about the county that now know me . To be on the run , I expect I would either have to relocate to where people don't know me or retreat to the wild to live off what resources I could gather from the woods and streams . Or perhaps it might be a combination of both .

If you were to move to a city then no one would care who you are, the downside is that all the freedoms that you can enjoy in the country draw the wrong kind of attention in the city. It's life but not as we know it.
