The rumor mill has it that the British SAS have been there a while 'training' Ukrainian forces, if this is right I'd guess US special forces are on the ground too. Exercises held in Macedonia, 3000 NATO troops under British command as a rapid response group. Interesting that the French asked the brits to run the show.

Retired colonel speaks out on Russian TV
finally some one in Russian has the balls to speak out
    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-61484222
The programme was 60 Minutes, the flagship twice-daily talk show on Russian state TV: studio discussion that promotes the Kremlin line on absolutely everything, including on President Putin's so-called "special military operation" in Ukraine.

The Kremlin still maintains that the Russian offensive is going according to plan.

But on Monday night, studio guest Mikhail Khodarenok, a military analyst and retired colonel, painted a very different picture.

He warned that "the situation [for Russia] will clearly get worse" as Ukraine receives additional military assistance from the West and that "the Ukrainian army can arm a million people".

Putin has taken over command of the War and is micro managing it from Moscow.
unfortunately for him he does not have the necessary military training and the whole thing is going badly for Russia.
some of the oligarchs in the Kremlin are already saying the war is a failure.

I said 'Training' Which for them usually means active involvement. Officially no UK troops took part in Vietnam but a lot of SAS went on secondment to the Australian/New Zealand SAS and were active in the conflict.

Bit off topic but if the American members have not seen this film its worth looking out for

The British Armed forces trains a lot of foreign troops so training the Ukrainians isnt that surprising.

Not up for debate that the U.S. has boots on the ground there (spec. ops.). Bunches of people who know people know people who have been deployed. Those deployed take their special skill sets there to distribute to the Ukraine fighters. These special visitors have been there longer than most Americans know ... . For a troubling amount of time, actually.

there are British fighters in Ukraine, some went over there when the war started but a lot are living there and married to Ukrainian wives, some may be still inside the Mariupol steelworks.

I do want to see Russia driven out of eh Ukraine. I do NOT want to see the Ukraine gain any Russian territory. Russia losing any land would just set the stage for another conflict down the road.

the Russians and their supporters have been threatening nuclear war for the last decade or more, just because they say it dosent make it so, its bravado, propaganda and BS.
any attack with nuclear missiles will see them receive multiple replies and Russia would cease to exist, and they know it.

hopefully there are clearer heads in the Kremlin than just Putin, Lavrov and their accomplices.
this war may go on for some time yet but I'm betting Putin wont. I believe his "end is nigh", there is already talk about a replacement, another former spy from the FSB/KGB.

I agree, I'd guess Putin's days are numbered now. The sanctions are hitting Russia hard, food prices shooting up faster than us, lot of gaps on the shelves over there and a lot of parents burying their children. Ukranian's will bury their loved ones with a sort or pride, a sense of purpose but the Russian moms and dads won't have that emotion to fall back on.

Longer than that lonewolf.....since the Cuban Missile Crisis in the Early 1960s.

Also about that movie....I like the Brits rifle the FN/LAR in 7.62 x 51mm calibration. Were it more common here with parts I would think about getting one.

I think this is also sometimes called the L1A1 SLR.

    Nonetheless a nice rifle.

And yes...years ago I saw that movie...

    About this...

Hopefully there are clearer heads here in America but I hold out no hope for this administration and I believe they would like to get us into a conflict to protect the Ukraine as someone's private fiefdom....investment....in money laundering and other such profit making endeavors.

Also the Average American has no clue the shenanigans done under the Obama administration to get ahold of a nuclear weapon outside the very controlled channels...and some of us also know that the Biden Administration is Obama II.

These people are Deep State and so too is NATO....a proxy organization working for Deep State internationalist players....

NATO is not the product advertised...and now so too is our own government....taken over by Deep State internationalist players....and no longer representing the American people but instead private international groups for profit.

    This...

Most people out here are too deceived and in their world of distractions/good cop/bad cop...to realize that the same phonies doing this to Russia are doing the same here to us in America.
Too many of us with Television and or Movie Educations out here...

I love the FN FAL. Decades back, could'a gotten an Argentine rifle for a song. University professor (Math man) of mine had one and I did great with it at the range. Fell in love with the rifle design.

L1A1 SLR is a very very good rifle, only reffered to in the army as SLR or FN but usually SLR and its a body stopper and was popular with the lads. That said a long rifle and you'd often find M16's in use in a jungle theatre. It was semi auto in the brit army.

    Very reliable weapon.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/worl...pc=U531&cvid=1280b599b02d402b87dffb58fbce9629 As many of you may know but perhaps some do not the war has now escalated to the use of thermobaric -warheads . The preppers that sacrificed to buy that survival retreat and proceeded to transforming it into a " survive with outside assistance grounds " are now looking at a real possibility of putting their efforts into the final test .--- I can truly understand why some prefer to claim there will never be a Nuclear World War 3 or to simply claim no one could survive such a war so there is no need preparing to that level . Well my group actually did take it that for . I feel comfortable in our survival prospects of a Nuclear World War 3 . -- I do have compassion for those that failed to take their prepping serious enough but at the same time as I have posted before may actually enjoy a planet with most of the human population wiped out .

They won't put their shiny new toys in the field for them to be smashed by US/UK missile systems. As a fighting platform tanks are pretty much old hat these days because they are so weak against modern systems and the efficiency of drones is showing how effective they can be.

The R&D boffins will be looking at how well these systems have worked in real time, looking for future tweaks.

The fighting spirit of the Ukrainians is something to admire, especially when you look at how fast Afghan forces threw their weapons away.

Russia has so far lost 30,000 troops in Putin's war, thats 30,000 Russian mothers will never see their sons again.
according to reports I think Russian public opinion is starting to turn, some of the politicians are not happy either and want the war stopped, they will probably suddenly disappear one day never to be seen again.

    by Max Rigger....

To my limited knowledge ...the model for most of American Special Forces/Seal Type units is the British SAS.

And these UK Groups have been around a long long time out in the Scrub/Bush.... as compared to our groups...

Have been studying the web...for various modern produced versions of the Browning High Power Pistol. I am not keen on the 9mm cartridge...or calibration if you like...but it is very difficult to argue with the fact that it is to be found today ...everywhere..

I am not keen on todays half plastic semi auto pistols..but like the John Browning design of his High Power pistol.
Hence I am doing careful study of the new models of this Olde Pistol design.....they are bringing it back....what to me is a classic design.

I am also looking carefully at a revolver..7 shot....which shoots .38 Special/.357 magnum and a separate cylinder for 9mm parabellum...

    Here this one..

Max...this is just me....you certainly do not have to buy into this one.....

But ...the current 5.56mm rifle the UK Government is fielding...is to me a letdown after the FN/LAR.....L1A1/SLR....

But that is just me..I have a preference for the .308 Winchester..or sometimes referred as the 7.62 x 51 mm...and also the American 30.06 calibration sometimes referred as the 7.62 x 63mm calibration.

I suppose I just like the .30 Calibration.

I am also not keen on the AR series of rifles fielded here in America....I reckon I have a lot of Olde School in me.

People are NOT taking seriously how furious Putin is. Here we have a megalomaniac with nuclear weapons at his disposal who is now looking to get even. Putin is going to DEMAND that Europe kowtow and buy Russian oil, gas, agricultural products! Putin NEEDS that money. To do so, I believe that he very well may begin using theater nukes to utterly cut all military supplies coming into Ukraine.
Note also that Putin is now demanding to be paid in rubles, plus he's hoarding gold. Why, to tank the dollar. Putin knows that the biden puppeteers will back down when he starts using nukes.

One of Putin's major options is to use nuclear weapons in the Black Sea if any more of his ships are targeted. I've read this from at least a couple of military pundits. Putin will see this as a "safe" escalation of the conflict.

    https://theconversation.com/is-russia-increasingly-likely-to-use-nuclear-weapons-in-ukraine-182368

"NATO is now involved in what is, in essence, a full-fledged proxy war against Russia. Not only have NATO nations — particularly the United States — provided Ukraine with an array of different weapons, but they are clearly helping Ukraine with other elements of its war effort, including intelligence — some of which has been used to target Russian generals.

"Recent Russian nuclear sabre-rattling — such as the testing and deployment of more advanced missiles or Russian TV segments showing the impact of a nuclear attack on the U.K. — is undoubtedly cause for concern, but it doesn’t make the use of nuclear weapons significantly more likely in the short term.

    "What would?

"If the war was to turn in Ukraine’s favour and Ukrainian forces started not only to recapture swaths of territory in the east, but to threaten the separatist regions — or Crimea.

"Some western observers have suggested that Russia might employ an “escalate to de-escalate” strategy in such circumstances, using tactical nuclear weapons. Launching them in territory likely to be held by the enemy, instead of where Russia hopes to retain control, makes a lot more sense.

"If the war escalates to the point where a western-backed Ukraine threatens territory Putin considers to be Russian, then the chances of nuclear weapons being employed would increase dramatically."

    --------------------------------------

    Old Gzr:

I believe that Ukraine will continue to make gains against Russian agression. Ukraine will NOT cede their territories in the east.

No one in the Russian hierarchy is likely to push Putin aside. Russian senior brass have the same feelings about the Ukrainian war as does Putin.

Russia must escalate. They cannot do so with conventional weapons. Therefore, theater nuclear weapons must be employed.

People in the West are soft and thus it is not within the grasp of their minds to accept that Russia will use its nukes.

Russia will use its nukes. Many in the West will wet their pants. World economies will be shaken. The dollar will weaken. Stock markets will drop.

    Russia will win.

    China will attack Taiwan.
    > They are already well into their planning to do so and America is without a Commander in Chief.

There is a problem with nuclear weapons...including smaller tactical nuclear weapons....radiation and contamination....which can not only get into the soil...but the water supply....

I am not sure many are even thinking this one through.

Does not the Ukraine produce a lot of wheat or such grains???

There are concerns about one of our Nimitz class aircraft carriers which was operating in the seas off Fukushima, Japan and got contaminated sea water into it's cooling systems....also its water distillation system.

I am sure most of you have heard this ..particularly on Fox News...the No Spin people!!??

    Catching on yet????

I was told years ago that there was research being done in the arena of using nuclear weapons as a construction tool.

The advantage was that much of the dirt and soil would not need to be hauled off...vaporized..

The disadvantage is that it is more difficult to direct the blast than with conventional explosives and then of course there is the radiation and or contamination issue.

I was told that this was being explored in reference to building a sea level canal through Nicaragua....to replace the Panama.

It would appear that the disadvantages won out.

I doubt that this is something desired for the general public to know...or even come close to knowing or exploring.

Gives you the warm fuzzies ...does it not????

Air-burst over Black Sea to destroy enemy surface ships = very little fallout whatsoever. However, this would tell the world that you mean business.

Putin may not go on, but the major brass of Russia needs this win just as much as Putin does. Putin gone, the war will go on.

    Sabotage heroes

    Unconventional warfare

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2022/04/23/ukraine-belarus-railway-saboteurs-russia/

"When Russian troops first streamed across the Belarusian border into Ukraine for what they had assumed would be a lightning assault on Kyiv, they were intending to rely on the region’s extensive rail network for supplies and reinforcements.

"The Russians hadn’t taken into account the railway saboteurs of Belarus.

"Starting in the earliest days of the invasion in February, a clandestine network of railway workers, hackers and dissident security forces went into action to disable or disrupt the railway links connecting Russia to Ukraine through Belarus, wreaking havoc on Russian supply lines.

"The attacks have drawn little attention outside Belarus amid the drama of the Russian onslaught and the bloody aftermath of Russia’s humiliating retreat. Fierce Ukrainian resistance and tactical errors by an ill-prepared Russian force were likely enough to thwart Russia’s plans, analysts say.

"But the Belarus railway saboteurs can at least claim a role in fueling the logistical chaos that quickly engulfed the Russians, leaving troops stranded on the front lines without food, fuel and ammunition within days of the invasion."

There has been the potential for WW3 since the moment Russia detonated its first nuke. Its obvious that Russian ground, air and sea forces are no match for NATO so the only drum it has left to bang is the threat of nuclear escalation...It won't happen, even Puting is not that crazy and he can't launch on his own at the push of a few buttons...same as POTUS can't.

Whether it happens or not , I have thoughtfully chosen my location and fortified for such an event . I fear no evil .

I call Russian Threats BS, brought on my Putin's failing health, looks like he may pop off any time, either from his deteriorating health or by some Kremlin hit squad.

On Fox News hosted by Don Bogino " last night " they had on one of the EMP commission board members " Peter Pry " to try to inform the public as to what to expect if Puttin E.M.P. attacks the United States . It indeed will be interesting times for preppers if that happens . Most people I expect would simply die . -- No I can't predict whether it will happen or not , but I am not afraid of facing the possibility .

an EMP here dosent bother me either, I have lived a life without power, any power, in the past and will again.
but I expect as you say, most of the population will be dead in short order.
