I'm sure they would - if the rules say she should have it, then she should, particularly as she was pressured out of the job.

"Net Immigration to Soar to 300,000 This Year Thanks to BoJo’s Post-Brexit Policies"

    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/20...ar-thanks-to-bojos-post-brexit-scheme-report/

"Net migration to Britain is reportedly on pace to breach 300,000 this year, increasing by more than a quarter over last year as a result of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s post-Brexit migration plan which opened the doors to millions to come to the United Kingdom.

"Despite promises from the Conservative Party to reduce immigration and 'take back control' of the nation’s borders following Brexit, net immigration will approach record highs this year, according to government data seen by The Telegraph newspaper projecting that 300,000 more people will have moved to the United Kingdom than left over the past year.

"This will be an increase from 239,000 last year, and would rival net migration during the years leading up to the vote for Brexit — which millions of voters believed would result in a more manageable level of immigration."

"Christian Preacher Paid £10K by London Police After Wrongful Arrests for Reporting Islamist Threats"

    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/20...-arrests-after-she-reported-islamist-threats/

"A Christian preacher has been awarded £10,000 in damages from London’s Metropolitan Police for two wrongful arrests after she had complained to officers that she was facing threats and harassment by Islamists.

"During both incidents, she had informed officers that Muslim protesters were threatening her, however, rather than seeking to protect her, the police arrested Tash for 'breaching the peace'.

"After one instance in which she was held by police for over 24 hours without charge, she brought legal action against Scotland Yard, with her legal team arguing: 'The police should have protected her free speech by bringing more officers to Speakers’ Corner to facilitate her rights' rather than detain her to supposedly keep the peace.

"Despite Met officers apparently dismissing the Islamist threats to the Christian preacher as not credible, Tash was stabbed with a knife at Speakers’ Corner last year while wearing a Charlie Hebdo shirt, which depicted the Islamic prophet Mohammed.

"The Christian preacher went on to blame 'police inaction' for the attack, saying that 'it is heartbreaking that we live in a society where police do not want to arrest a Muslim for fear of being called Islamophobic.'

"Despite the incident being live-streamed at the time, there have still been no arrests in relation to the attack."

She had the job so she gets the £115K, no time limit on how long you hold down the job before you get the perks.

In 2021 around 240,000 migrated to the USA legally.

So far in 2022 over 2,000,000 have entered illegally

Puts UK immigration problems in the shade I think

Hope all you white folks are learning Spanish ;)

As I understand it and I could be mistaken but I do believe that cartridge in Spanish is the same as cartridge in English. They will understand it.

America's illegal immigration problems are FAR worse than other nations.

To the chagrin of the Democratic Socialists, the Spanish-speaking are starting their own businesses and voting Republican. They do not want to pay taxes to feed the children whose fathers are unwilling to take care of their own. There is a tremendous amount of hostility between Hispanic gangs and black gangs and black civilians. Hispanics are driving blacks out of their neighborhoods.

When it hits the fan, Hispanic gang-bangers will have to be wiped out. We American citizens are allowed to own effective firearms and have no limit on how much ammo we can keep at home. Should the government intervene, then civil war is an absolute certainty. We do not roll over. We do not bend over. We are adults not children.

The SouthWestern U.S. could return to Mexico, post SHTF. This due to Narco-terrorist gangs owning the Mexican government and moving into our SouthWest. These folk are armed with weapons of war which are readily available on the international market if you have the money. Narcotics gangs have the money.

    I've no fixation with Britain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All I'm saying is that what is happening to us is headed your way. You seem not to believe this. I'd LOVE to see England go untouched by all of this. My dad gave me the best impression of you all.

We are getting overrun. It is happening here and now and in a HUGE way. Why do you think Americans are buying ammunition by the hundreds of rounds per order?!

But this is happening to other countries.

It is happening now to Europe. Sweden is getting invaded and crime is rising by the month. Sweden is the barometer for the coming storm heading into Europe.

It is starting to have an impact on England. Get ready now. Don't imagine that you are safe.

Now what with the chaos and the famine of 2022 leading into 2023 and beyond, outsiders are headed your way at an increased pace.

Spain just killed a bunch of migrants. Maybe the conservative military and police of Spain will keep the non-Spaniards out. The Spanish hate outsiders there ... gee, I wonder why.

Preppers have a tendency to prepare -- the name sort of implies the action. To prepare, y'gotta know what could be headed straight for you. In the United States, 500 miles is nothing. 300 miles is REALLY NOTHING to peoples accustomed to a migratory life. Now such people are on your islands.

In Texas it is nothing to drive over a hundred miles each day to and from work. I had a job for a long time that was 90 miles EACH way 5 days a week. The pay was great and that way I kept my family out of Houston and in safe suroundings. If I worked over and was tired I just stayed in a nearby cheap motel.

Even where I live now I am 25 miles from a big grocery store. When you live out and off the beaten track you tend to keep a little more on hand than if you live in town where you can make a quick trip to the store. Driving my Daughter to school is a 50 mile round trip. This is just typical rural life in Texas. My wife was raised 35 miles out so to her this is nothing new or odd.

There are places in West Texas where taking a kid to school is a hundred mile trip 50 miles or more each way. Texas alone is 5 times bigger than England. To us it is sort of facinating that such a small place has had such an amazing history and affect on the world. We have a couple of counties that woukd compare to England in size. When my Wife was a kid they used to go visit her sister every summer. It was 830 miles each way all in Texas.

We have a rather colorful history but it is nothing compared to the history of Great Brittian. We even entered the US as a seperate country. I like history and yours is glorious and facinating. Is it any suprise that Americans have a lot of intrest in you, your affairs, and your history?

where I live its 20 miles each way to a supermarket, its 25 and 30 miles to an emergency hospital, not like in the big cities and large urban centres where they have several nearly on their doorstep.
as far as most city folk are concerned we live in the middle of nowhere and we are many hours drive from the capital or other large cities. the only time they come in this direction is on their holidays/vacations and then they head for the coast not the countryside.
we have one main railway line and that is often cut off in the winter storms-built too close to the sea! and one main highway through Devon and down into Cornwall.
talking of driving is one thing but in SHTF all the sheeple will be walking and thats a different thing entirely, especially when their sat nav dosent work and the road signs are few and far between- thats if they even know where they are going. there is an old prepper saying if you dont have a specific place to go you are a refugee and we have all seen the pitiful state of refugees.
there is one hell of a difference between going somewhere in normal times and going there WTSHTF.
the distances may be different but the hardships will be similar.

The good news is that I AM where I would want to be AND I am almost a hundred miles from most of the idiots in Houston. I worked in Houston for few years but at no point did I want my family living there. I am a country boy at heart and knew that working in the BIG city was only going to be temporary for me.

I remember when I would be coming home, when I got to the point where there were only trees around me and no buildings that I would roll down the windows and just breathe. For me it is almost like a form of claustrophobia. I could tolerate it but wouldn’t live there. It was never quiet. Every few minutes you would hear a siren, a horn honking, or someone with no muffler reving his motor...24 hours a day!!!

If I had the money I would buy enough land that I could put my house in the middle and not see anything that wasn’t mine. I would fence it high and have a menagerie of critters for my neighbors and friends. I had a customer that did that and I always loved going to his place to work.

Nearest buildings/edge of town for me in Spain is around 3km away, view from the back of the home is mountains which is something I've always wanted to wake up to; I've found my home and it gives me peace...I'm incredibly lucky.

Solar panels and batteries arriving tomorrow, hopefully the radio shack will be off grid and setup before this weekend and I can at last unbox new radio rigs I've had for weeks and try them (for Chris G5RV, icom 7300/Acom 1200S)

New Nuclear power station to be built at Sizewell in Suffolk, by.....surprise, surprise, EDF (French owned), this will take 10 years to build, outfit and get working, which wont help this Winters power supplies or another 9 years to come, but I suppose its better than now't, incidentally it will cost 700 Million pounds, paid for by the taxpayer.

I have become quite dubious about some of the BBC's reporting. There was a time when hey were the bastion of honesty, dependability and reliability but, sadly, no these days.

Perfectly happy for the Chinese not to be involved in infrastructure in the UK. We need more UK businesses to do the work.

Sadly auntie beeb has become a woke leftist platform.

These days you have to look at various news outlets to get a better overall view. Most days I look at online newspapers like El Pais, Das Spiegel and Le Monde to see the eurocentric views

I try and spread my news gathering net as widely as possible, excluding only “some bloke in a pub said”information, the difficulty is filtering out the bullshit but I’m usually well ahead of the curve on most subjects. Even I’m guilty of a certain amount of bias as I tend to tune out of woke protests about non binary rights or similar, it’s not even that I disagree it’s just that I’m not interested in hearing how someone is enraged that the less self righteous parts of society don’t accept that they have a right to their very own personal pronoun.

When I see something in the national media, I then go to the local news. Local news interviews the people who may have actually witnessed the event. National news only interviews people who are onboard with the media's social agenda. Local news also provides more photographs and videos. Sometimes locals will post videos of events up on YouTube. If the video has anti-Woke information within it, YouTube will sometimes allow one to sign-in instead of overtly killing the news. I have accounts for them to try to track, should they wish to keep information on me.

I don't give a toss if someone is gay, lesbian, gender fluid et al and I believe most people in society feel the same, if only the gender dysmorphic/LGBT mob could grasp that...we don't care, not interested, go live a good life, find love, be happy but stop telling the rest of us how we must feel/act/think.

PS, same applies to vegetarians and vegans

Even before SHTF events occur, people are going to have to use bartering and precious metal coins to do trades off the record (this year bought with cash some silver coins with silver at $18.50 oz, now silver is at $23.46 oz) . Me, I don't want the Borg looking over my shoulder for any reason. Bought some .22 standard velocity ammo yesterday. Paid cash. As one shoots-up ammo, you want to restock with fresh. I got a surprisingly good deal on the the boxes ($6 per for each box of 50) . Gotta plink plink plink to stay good good good. Too, I give ammo to a grandson for his practice. Shot some decades-old .22 mag ammo a couple of months ago and the cases split :(. My really old British .303 ammo splits at the necks, but I've purchased more modern (non-mercuric primed) ammo to shoot. In a pinch, I'll shoot the old stuff, besides, that old ammo still shoots straight and without misfires.

"Great Reset: UK Prepares to Introduce a ‘Digital Pound’ Central Bank Digital Currency"

    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/20...-digital-pound-central-bank-digital-currency/

"Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt revealed that, as a part of his ‘Edinburgh Reforms’ of Britain’s financial services, the Bank of England will begin consultations on the design of a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) which would act as a digital version of the pound sterling.

"Hunt, an anti-Brexit, pro-China figure resurrected from the David Cameron era, said in a written statement to Parliament that the government will begin 'bringing forward a consultation in the coming weeks to explore the case for a central bank digital currency – a sovereign digital pound – and consult on a potential design.'

“'The Bank of England will also release a Technology Working Paper setting out cutting-edge technology considerations informing the potential build of a digital pound,' he added.

"In contrast to Bitcoin, which functions on a decentralised basis in which no single person can control its functions, ownership, or value, a CBDC would be similar to traditional fiat currency issued by a central bank, such as the Bank of England, and therefore could suffer from the same inflation issues if the central bank decided to issue more of it — like printing cash.

"Should a CBDC replace hard currency altogether, the government would be able to track every purchase or transaction made by the public.

"The Bank of England has also admitted that a digital pound could be 'programmable', meaning that the government could potentially add mechanisms to prevent people from spending their own money on things the state disapproves.

"This has led to concerns that Western governments could implement a system akin to the social credit score in Communist China, which has already been used to blacklist millions of citizens from travelling, including those who dissented against the authoritarian rule of Chairman Xi Jinping.

"Central Bank Digital Currencies are also heavily supported by the globalist Davos-based World Economic Forum (WEF), which listed it among the technologies that will 'change the world by 2027'.

"Alongside the nominally Conservative government in the United Kingdom, the Biden administration in the United States and the European Union are also both working towards the implementation of digital versions of their currencies."

It has the feel of despotism though. It must surely be better to stop these folks actually getting on the boots in the first place, rather than have a "ship 'em to the gulags policy". It's an unnerving shift towards the right wing.

I agree - the problem is that one is caught between seeing the situation as being somewhere between people who genuinely are desperate to get away from their homeland and those who are simply economic freeloaders. The people that sell these folks the rubber boats are the real villains as there are other ways to get to the UK to claim asylum. Then, of course, whilst we are all "up in arms" at the situation our self serving government are sneaking things through parliament to decrease our freedom and autonomy almost unnoticed.

On this side of The Pond, we have been overwhelmed with illegals and once Title 42 ends, we are going to get maybe 10+ million more ... then 20 million.

We are being overtly invaded thanks to the kill-America biden regime. This is planned. This is a declaration of war against American citizens.

I say that if these illegals cannot endure the coming winter storms, then they should go back home. Why feed and house invaders?!

apparently the pandemic trend of people leaving the cities and buying up rural and coastal property has now slumped and gone into reverse, people are now leaving the country and moving to the cities.
jolly good! more room for the rest of us who wish to remain in rural areas, there is no way in hell you could get me to go back to city living.

You're right, the prices here are ludicrous and it has caused a lot of resentment as local young people almost invariably have to move away, leaving an aged population here.

the further out you get the more expensive it gets, you can buy a cheaper property in the cities but get out into the countryside and you can double the price, and anything on Dartmoor is really expensive just because of where it is.
then the problem for most is getting a mortgage, the deposit required takes sometimes years to build up before one can even start looking.

Hopefully, y'all live out far enough away from populous areas and law enforcement such that you can thumb your noses at this new, deeply ridiculous, law about banning the burning of wood to stay warm.

"Great Reset: Britons Face £300 Fine For Burning Wood to Keep Warm"

    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/20...-face-300-fine-for-burning-wood-to-keep-warm/

"The UK government has told local authorities to crack down on people using wood-burning stoves to keep warm with fines of £300 or potentially criminal prosecutions for those who continually refuse to abide by state climate diktats.

"Amid the energy crisis in Britain, which came to fruition in large part as a result of the Conservative Party-led governments over the past ten years obsession with implementing globalist green agenda policies while refusing to tap the nation’s more reliable natural resources such as natural gas, the use of wood-burning stoves have soared.

"Now, local authorities have been told by the government in Westminster to use the 2021 Environment Act to impose spot fines of £175 to £300 on those who use wood-fire stoves that do not meet state standards on air pollution, The Times of London reported.

"Local councils were also informed that for those who continually breach the codes, they could also seek criminal prosecutions that could land citizens with a criminal record and fines of £5,000 and an additional £2,500 for every additional day that they use wood to heat their homes."

I was flabbergasted when I was living in an area of the West Midlands in 2012. My husband's mother and father at the time said it was now "illegal" to use wood fires. I couldn't believe it. Years earlier, living in the north of England, wood and coal fires were the norm. No more apparently. Very sad state of affairs, in my opinion.

It's the opposite in Aus. The further out you go, the cheaper it is. Cities such as Sydney and Melbourne, for example, command ridiculous prices. As you go further into the suburbs, the cheaper it gets.

Cheaper still are country towns. The downside is, you're looking at a couple of hours drive to large towns/cities to enable decent shopping and medical facilities.

The exception to this rule are areas such as Byron Bay in northern NSW, where all the rich and famous live. Also an area called Maleny in Queensland, which is known as "Millionaires Row". Beautiful country areas but only for the rich. No-one else can afford to buy in those areas.

I don't know how the average person gets to know emergency personnel, yet one must try. Make donations. Me, I've been ever so blessed to work with these folk. No person expects to get hurt, but welcome to Earth. Oh heavens, the bizarre stories I've been told about "impossible accidents"!!!!!!! The impossible is exceedingly possible. Remember, an 18 foot fall can/will cause a pelvic fracture (use a tied sheet or blanket to pull the pelvis back together again, else the sharp edges of the fracture WILL cut arteries and veins, which the pelvic area is totally filled with).

When the pelvic girdle gets fractured, it always breaks in two places = terrible internal bleeding ... especially in "open book" pelvic fractures. Once had a surgical resident sit and talk to me for almost an hour about pelvic fractures and how terrible they are and what a pain it is to try to undo the damage. I couldn't believe he did this for me, but it helped me help student physicians in their learning. Lordy lordy, I'd not want their job. Terrible topic! These days, just call in a vascular surgeon along with the regular surgical team if you have a suspected pelvic fracture. Tick tick tick, the person will be bleeding to death internally. :(:(:(:(:(

It's been like that for a while, the rules are brought in by councils not under UK government law. There are a lot of restrictive rules creeping in to the UK that are undermining the stability of society and, of course, it's all about money.

Just ran into this story while reading world news. This story made me mad. Start doing this in America's South and you'll get shot. Here, if you don't pay your bill, the company will shut off your gas and put a padlock on the valve -- this turn-off is located outside the house. You don't enter into someone's home without permission. Cops have to bring a judge-issued warrant. Me, I do NOT trespass on other people's yards. VERY unsafe to do so.

"British Gas Debt Collectors Broke Into Homes of Vulnerable People Behind on Bills"

    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/20...nto-homes-of-people-who-fell-behind-on-bills/

"British Gas has been found to have employed debt-collecting contractors who broke into the homes of vulnerable customers who fell behind on payments to forcibly install prepayment meters during the energy crisis.

"An investigation by The Times of London in which a reporter was embedded clandestinely with British Gas contractors from Arvato, a debt-collecting firm tasked with installing prepayment energy meters for those late on their payments, has found that contractors broke into homes to do so.

"In one instance, debt agents were seen using a locksmith, during below-freezing temperatures, to break into the home of a single father with three children in order to install a prepayment energy meter, meaning that if the family failed to top up their payments, their heating would be shut off.

"The Times reporter also recounted seeing agents use a court order to install a meter in the home of a mother with a four-week-old baby after her bills increased by seven hundred per cent during the energy crisis.

"The investigation found that debt-collecting contractors are incentivised to install prepayment meters in households with financial bonuses, therefore encouraging them to ignore the plight of certain customers, with single mothers representing the largest group of people impacted by the practice.

“'If every single mum that starts getting a bit teary you’re going to walk away from, you won’t be earning any bonus,' an agent said.

"Others were seen bragging about threatening customers with sending the police to kick down their doors if they refused to allow the contractors into their homes."
