If god government denies you the human right of self defense using the best method -- a firearm -- then construct a truncheon / bat. It has to be light enough to be able to swing rapidly. The grip must be able to stay sticky even if wet -- cloth electrical tape or tennis racket handle rubber. Nail or screw razor blades to the business end of the bat. If you swing at an intruder and the intruder catches the bat, then jerk back with all of your strength. The attached razor blades will sever the tendons in the felon's hands. Next, cave-in their skull with every ounce of energy you have.

any club or bat will be viewed by the British Police as a weapon, especially one that is kept by your chair or a bed, use a weapon even on an intruder in your house and you will be arrested for assault, it has to be something innocuous like a walking stick or a frying pan or a broom, something that was just to hand in ordinary life.

It would certainly be difficult to explain away a nail studded baseball bat embedded with razor blades to British plod :( but if you do resort to wacking someone with a 9 iron then at least have the good sense to be a regular golfer :D.

Any "police" who deny essential Liberty are goons serving an invalid regime.

This is why a world-wide depression, while a horrid disaster, could be a blessing in disguise. Centralized governments must fall and power returned to the people.

Here is THE man concerning this topic. Massad Ayoob is an expert. He is a true source of information. My knowledge does not exist next to his -- even though a trash person tried get into my house at 3am one evening. My pump shotgun gave me the upper hand. HOWEVER, Massad Ayoob is THE MAN, the go-to, when needing information concerning an attempted break-in at your home.

Here is one video produced by this true expert. His words are words are beyond important. What he says, I listen to. He is the real deal.

"93-Year-Old Who Shot Alleged Intruder Says Suspect Walked into ‘A Gunfight with a Pocket Knife’"

    https://www.breitbart.com/politics/...t-walked-into-a-gunfight-with-a-pocket-knife/

"The 93-year-old Moreno Valley, California, resident who shot an alleged intruder Wednesday said the suspect walked into 'a gunfight with a pocket knife.'

"Breitbart News reported that a 93-year-old homeowner shot the alleged intruder shortly after midnight Wednesday.

"In an ABC News video, the 93-year-old homeowner, Joe Howard Teague, explained what led up to the shooting.

"Teague indicated more than one suspect was trying to break into the home and he grabbed his gun and 'approached them to put them under citizen’s arrest.'

"He said, 'They wouldn’t adhere to that and one of them come at me with a fishing pole and they kept throwing stuff at me, just like, you know, it was like somebody comes to a gunfight with a pocket knife.'

"ABC News reports that Teague is a retired plumber.

"He called 911 at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday to let police know he had suspects at gunpoint. Deputies arrived to find that one of the suspects, 33-year-old Joseph A. Ortega, had been shot. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

"Investigators indicate there were, in fact, 'several individuals' on Teague’s property when Ortega was shot.

"Teague was questioned by police, then released."

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

More details; this started when one large guy in a group of people kicked-in Teague's door.

    https://meaww.com/california-homeowner-joe-teague-shot-intruder-injured-severe

"Teague's granddaughter's husband, Oscar Malma, told KNBC that Teague hasn't been spending much time at his home in the 24300 block of Eucalyptus Avenue as he has been living with his daughter since his wife passed away a few months ago. 'Recently he's been having break-ins,' Malma told the station. 'It happened once on Friday; on [a] bright day they went to break in the house. And now this happened in the middle of the night? ... They were looking for him. They've been watching him. They've been watching the house for a while.'"

O.Gzr: Article says that the man shot, Ortega, was in critical condition and likely wouldn't survive. Shotgun injuries are brutal.

"A 17-year-old shot and killed two armed intruders during an attempted home invasion, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

"Deputies were called to the 16000 block of First St., for a shooting in progress.

"According to officials, three armed men wearing a mask attempted to force their way into a home. The home was occupied by a woman, 12-year-old boy, and two 17-year-old males. Deputies say a 17-year-old got a shotgun and fired several times, striking two of the suspects. Both suspects were pronounced dead at the scene. The third suspect fled in a dark colored, 4-door sedan, according to police. There were no other reported injuries."

    ---------------

The above happened in Houston Texas. Texas is still apart of America. Houston is not -- it has gone 3rd-world along with all the savagery appertaining.

Due to the communists running Houston, the boy was arrested.

Any government that does not recognize a person's right to armed defense of their home is an invalid government and should be overthrown.

Where did you see that the boy was arrested? It has been sent to the Grand jury but that is something that has to happen anytime someone dies by other than natural causes or accident. In Texas you have every right to use lethal force to defend yourself or home. There is no way that he will be arrested but there will be questions that have to be answered. The general impression here is that he is a hero. No District attorney wants to arrest a hero. THAT would be political suicide! District Attorneys are elected!

I read eleven or so articles about the case. In one, it was said that he had been arrested. Maybe they've released him. Haven't been back to find out.

I immediately found and watched several videos wherein home and business invaders got shot. I got hooked watching those and didn't follow-up. I deeply enjoy seeing people I hate getting severely injured / killed. I hate that I have to sign in or go to the "other web", yet it gives me too much pleasure. My family had a knack for getting revenge, but they worried about my dad and kept info away from him lest they have a family member go to jail. Everybody avoided prison, but they knew that my dad just couldn't control his emotions. And let us say that Dan was one rather persistent individual.

All major religions and philosophies condemn people who do harm to others. Those people should be made to go away.

We the people need to first off ensure the LEGAL right to defend ourselves, our family and our homes. We then need to DO IT with lethal force. The problem these days is that our government run justice system is TOTALLY focused on justice for the CRIMINL with little to NO intrest in justice for the victim. You can't imagine the amount of misery that many of these criminals cause in their repeated trips on vacation from their prison homes.

They will go in and out over and over mostly because reprosecuting them costs more than most places can afford. In most of those cases we the people pay the cost for lawyers on BOTH sides of the trial. A prosecution to get and keep a life sentence in force is in the millions. They are going to apeal over and over as high as possible and we pay for it. You could lock someone up for life in a first line hotel with a 5 star free resturant cheaper in the long run.

I live in a sort of odd situation in that I am surrounded by the many prisons in the area and the tens of thousands of inmates that they house. I am one of the few people that I know that has never worked in prison in this area. Both my wife and daughter were/are in it for the retirement. My wife is retired and my daughter only has another 8 or 9 years before she will be eligable. The retirement includes good insurance and that is worth a LOT.

Criminals are not like they are portrayed on the TV and neither are prisons. The sad truth is that most of the people in prison have no education and a lot of them are not exactly smart. There aren't many jobs anymore for people that are not very smart. In the past they worked in the fields and in the factories but now those jobs are either done by machines or shipped out to other countries and then brought back.

Prisons are to some extent where we house people that are not smart enough or educated enought to be able to get and hold a job. How many people do YOU know that are illiterate? The prisons are full of people that probably can't even fill out and employment application.

Think of all the people that in the past worked in our fields or in the factories doing the simple assembly jobs. Now those people are on welfare because those type of jobs don't exist anymore. A person that is functionally illiterate just doesn't have many legal oppertunities to support themselves much less a family. For these people a simple job aplication is a near inpossible task.

The US now ships most of its simple factory jobs out of the country. The fields are tended by big machines and in Teaxas unfortunatly what few manual farm jobs there are are done by illegal Mexicans. To them minimum wage is a fortune! They fill their pockets with money and go back to Mexico or send the money there to their families.

I really don't think that most people fully understand the concept of the term "career criminal". These "people" have chosen to work in "jobs" that are illegal. Let's say the minimum wage was $30/hour, they still would choose robbery and the drug trade, because they do not want to work the hours.

Illegal firearms will always be available (illegal MAC-10s are easy to make) and it is easier for others to work and the career criminals to predate upon them. The drug trade will always get its product especially given that socialist administrations will not protect our border with Mexico. Fentanyl is manufactured in Mexico using communist Chinese chemicals.

    Fentanyl trade:

    Making a MAC out back:

In one current trend called "follow-home robberies", criminals watch people in malls or at jewelry stores. If they think the person has valuables at home, they follow them to the suburbs and invade their homes. Career criminals see the risk as being low -- especially in states that restrict the people from using armed defense to protect themselves. God government indoctrination: "You are not a professional law enforcement officer. If attacked, retreat within your home to a safe area and in all likelihood, you will neither be raped nor killed. Guns are not safe to be kept in your home. Call 911!"

Allowing open borders and a revolving-door "Justice" system keeps the criminal machine well-oiled and the middle class dependent on Big Brother. Whether this is run by the Mafia or government, it's called a "protection racket" -- always has been. Big Government is one form of racketeering.

we are only allowed to use "reasonable force" if attacked in our own home over here, no weapons are allowed ( we would be arrested for assaulting the poor burglar and his lawyers would have a field day ) but if you have a walking stick or a cricket bat handy( after just coming in from a walk or a cricket match) we can just use anything handy.....frying pan maybe??

If the people that run your country now had been in power in 1940 you would be speaking german right now. When a people are not allowed to defend their homes they are no longer really free people. A sad end to a once great nation. I fear that the rest of the west isn't far behind.

Maybe if millions of Africans and Middle-Easterners rush in to the British Isles, maybe America will have to send guns as happened during WWII with the Lend-Lease program. These invaders will need more boats, yet France keeps dumping illegals into England. Me, I don't think that England is as vulnerable as is continental Europe. Swedish citizens just voted-in a "conservative" government out of fear of what is going on right now within the no-go areas of their cities. Innocent Swedes are getting caught in the crossfire of fully-automatic rifle fire and grenade-tossing between rival foreign gangs in their country. Sad situation considering that the regular citizens are unable, even forbidden, from defending their families.

If foreigners began "grooming" teenagers in Heartland America, they will get themselves wiped-out. Hispanic illegals are now at 80% male. If those males begin acting-up in the urban areas, the self-castrated "men" will just cry, I guess. Elsewhere, that which must be done, will be done. Our children are sacred. Hurt them and we will go berserk on you.:mad::mad::mad:

That is so very true not only in your country but in nearly all of the Western nations. We now have going on two generations of kids that think peace is the "NATURAL" way of the world. "The tree of Freedom has to be regularly watered with the blood of patriots" or it just sort of fades away. There is a VERY good reason why even Hitler in his insanity never really considdered invading England.

"Own a home in the suburbs? BRACE YOURSELF!"

    https://drrichswier.com/2023/02/23/own-a-home-in-the-suburbs-brace-yourself/

"Prior to the 2020 election, I posted a New York Post article on my local Nextdoor website, which has 39,000 subscribers within a 5-mile radius of my suburban Atlanta home. The article was about Biden’s plan for a federal takeover of local zoning laws, a move that would enable his administration to saturate suburban communities with new, high density public housing projects. Within an hour of my posting, two Nextdoor subscribers posted accusations that I was a racist trafficking in right-wing propaganda. I am not a racist, and the New York Post article was not propaganda. As recently reported by USA Today, Biden’s plan to torpedo the suburbs is already in motion, with funding from the $350 billion Covid rescue plan earmarked for construction of 'affordable housing' smack in the middle of suburbia.

"Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign website revealed plans for a federal takeover of local zoning laws. If enacted, the plan will force suburban jurisdictions with single-family homes and minimum lot sizes to permit construction of 'affordable' high-density housing (apartments) on lots currently zoned for single-family living.

"The professed purpose of the takeover is 'to invest in our communities through housing by rebuilding the middle class and ensuring that this time everyone is included.' Translation: Inundate the suburbs with public housing projects.

"The actual purpose of the takeover is to eviscerate Republican voting strength in the suburbs by relocating millions of government-dependent voters from inner city public housing projects to suburbia.

"More people would invariably result in more crime, and a once-safe residential area would become a more challenging place to raise a family. With Democrats committed to defunding the police and confiscating guns, suburban families would be virtually defenseless against street crime and home invasions.

"Initial planning for a federal takeover of local zoning laws began during the latter part of the presidency of Barack Obama, who viewed the suburbs as too safe, too clean, too white, too Republican. President Trump derailed those plans, but the plans are now poised to be resurrected under Biden’s 'infrastructure' bill.

"Now being negotiated in Congress, the bill allocates $213 billion for what he describes as 'affordable housing.' In truth, the funding would be used to salt single-family neighborhoods in suburbia with Section 8 apartment buildings. If enacted into law, federal zoning mandates will turn peaceful suburban communities into the kind of urban war zones that exist in inner city areas of every Democrat-run city in America, no exceptions."

"No it’s not Orwell, it’s Obama.

"Barack Obama has unveiled a new program to collect data on Americans by race in order to document 'inequalities' between minorities and whites.

"The Obama inspired 'Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing' HUD rule will put pressure on areas deemed 'too white' in order to change zoning laws to allow construction of cheaper homes in affluent suburbs in order to 'relocate inner-city minorities to those predominantly white areas' at taxpayer expense."

"NYPD probing two overnight home invasions in Brooklyn, Queens"

    March 25, 2023

    https://nypost.com/2023/03/25/nypd-probing-two-overnight-nyc-home-invasions/

"A group of gun-toting thugs stormed into a Brooklyn home before dawn Saturday, stealing thousands in cash and leaving the residents bloodied — as cops are probing if the same suspects may have struck in Queens just a few hours later.

"Five gunmen in ski masks forced their way through the ground floor window of a three-story Wogan Terrace home in Fort Hamilton, yelling, “Where’s the f–king money?” frightened residents told The Post.

"The suspects kicked down doors, rummaged through every room, and beat at least one man.

"At least 15 people live in the house — three in the basement, six on the ground floor and six on the top floor.

“'I couldn’t see because of all the blood,' said Ruben Dario Cardenas Chillpe, 31, from Ecuador, who lives in the basement.

“'One of them kept punching me in the face while the other one pointed the gun at me.'

"Another resident, a mom who lives on the ground floor, said the violent thieves stole their rent money.

“'I’m so scared. I don’t want to live here anymore,' she told The Post.

“'They took all of our money we had saved for rent this month,' she added. 'I don’t know what we’re going to do.'

"Christian Rodriguez, 20, who lives on the top floor said the brutal bandits, who all carried walkie-talkies, made off with his safe with the cash in it as well as a cherished bracelet from his 15-year-old nephew — which was swiped right off his wrist."

If you live someplace that valued their good citizens at least half as MUCH as they do the crooks the answer would be simple. Buy a gun. Learn how to use it. USE IT ON ANYONE THAT BREAKS INTO YOUR HOME!!! Problem solved.

Leftists worry about the rights of felons until they themselves get robbed or raped.

Then again, maybe I'm wrong about that ... hmmmm ......

"Liberal Activist Is Brutally Raped in Haiti by a Black Man – Blames White Men"

    https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/20...ped-in-haiti-by-a-black-man-blames-white-men/

"Amanda Kijera was on a humanitarian trip to Haiti, when she was violently raped by a black man. The act was both coincidental and devastating, as Kijera was actually in Haiti to dispel the 'myths' that violence against women on the island was overstated by women’s rights organizations. The intention of Kijera’s trip was to push back on the portrayal of black men as 'savages' in the media. Her hope was that she would eliminate misconceptions and push back against common views imposed by 'the man.' However, Kijera’s trip took a turn for the worse when one of the men she had worked to protect cornered her on the rooftop, and raped her numerous times.

“'The experience was almost more than I could bear,' Kijera wrote about the incident, 'I pleaded with him to honor my commitment to Haiti, to him as a brother in the mutual struggle for an end to our common oppression, but to no avail. He didn’t care.'

"According to Kijera, she eventually stopped fighting him, claiming that there was nothing she could do to stop him from raping her repeatedly. After the tragic experience, she placed the blame on a very unexpected course. 'Women are not the source of their oppression; oppressive policies and the as-yet unaddressed white patriarchy which still dominates the global stage are,' she explained.

"She also went on to argue that it is up to the United Nations to support people who are forced to bear the brunt of black male aggression. Kijera makes the outrageous claim that dependency on white people causes them to act out against them. She alludes that this was the reason for her attack."

If you consider a vicious animal as your "people"...You will get what any animal can expect. You will either be the predator or the PREY!!! Sadly she chose to be the prey.

I raised my daughter to NOT be prey. I taught her how to shoot and fight and when she moved out her guns went with her. She had a guy get pushy with her and then he refused to leave...He left in a hurry when the gun came out! A sawed-off shotgun aimed at the crotch is VERY convincing!!!

I never have been very afraid of much of anything... For a long time, I guess that I sort of feared life more than death. My teen years were severely messed up.

I never ever had a home invasion or burglary and I lived in a city for over 40 years .
friend in my old neighbourhood, some time after I had left, had someone try to kick his door in at 5 in the morning but they didnt get in, those old houses were solidly built just after WW2 and not easy to get into.

Speaking of the early AM-land, ...

"Armed Georgia homeowner catches intruder in the act, shoots him dead as neighbors cook breakfast"

    https://www.foxnews.com/us/armed-ge...uder-shoots-him-dead-neighbors-cook-breakfast

"A Georgia homeowner fatally shot a would-be intruder trying to break into his house – and a neighbor called police after the gunshots interrupted her breakfast, police said.

"Shots rang out at about 5:30 a.m. Thursday in DeKalb County when an unidentified homeowner shot the unidentified male suspect, who was rushed to a local hospital but did not survive, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.

"Another resident in the area, Joann Proctor, said she was left on edge and that criminals are targeting homes early in the morning.

"'Young guys are stalking the neighborhood at night, like 4-5 in the morning, they checking doors,' Proctor said.

"The homeowner, who has also not been identified, was questioned by police and returned to his home by mid-morning. He will not be charged as he was defending himself and his home, WSBTV reported."

    -----------------------------------------

This lends a whole new meaning to, "I got woken-up this morning by someone taking out the trash."

My oldest son and I might as well BE owls. We're total night folk. My eyes don't adapt to daylight well. Before I retired, people would ask me why I kept my office "so dark". Wasn't dark to me. A little lamp on my desk and that was more than enough for me -- never turned on the ceiling lights. My oldest son (now bald and gray like me) and I also have strangely-wide peripheral vision. The ophthalmologists I've seen are fascinated, but so far haven't sent me to have a veterinarian checkout my eyes. Even during low light, my pupils are pinpoint; but not because I'm a heroin addict, its due to my retinas being overwhelmed with too much light. Light one candle in a room and I'm just fine. When young, my eyes instantly adapted to low light. Turn off the light switch and poof, I could see. Maybe I'm part cat ... a rather large one.

The wifer and our youngest son are morning people. I wish I'd been wired for daytime.

People iz people. We iz what we wuz born to be. One makes do with it. Complaining to your Creator, won't do you any good. It will give the Creator a good laugh, but that's it.

What I do NOT understand is how these thieves down Georgia way get up so early in the morning to go out robbing. I guess maybe they simply do not go to bed. Maybe the crack cocaine and the meth adds to that not sleeping thingy.

I have been told that our eyes will soon get used to the dark post SHTF, its not that we cant see in the dark its that all the modern light pollution is messing up our night vision.
before I left the city there were occasions when I was still coming home at 4am, that was in my night clubbing days before I remarried, these days we are early birds, early morning before most people are up is the best time of the day. I tend to avoid other people as much as I can, I have nothing in common with sheeple and snowflakes.

      Yep.
My wife when driving at night uses yellow/gold tinted glasses / shooting glasses. These provide her with greater pattern recognition, thus improve her ability to drive at night.
The pair of glasses I recently purchased have fitted sunglasses with magnetic connectors. I place the sunglasses (these have no "temples"/"legs"; they look like clip-ons) up to my glasses' frame and click! the magnets place and attach them. These lenses are dark and polarized, thus I am protected from too much light and the nasty glare. Without sunglasses, I must squint. I wear sunglasses on rainy days. Even rainy days are too bright for me, always have been. My paternal grandfather and I had to have cataract surgery at rather young ages and bilaterally so. Plus, my cataracts came on in less than a year. My ophthalmologist said this was rare, yet I'm not alone.

I have rather great night vision. I can walk in the woods on a night with no moon. I can read a newspaper in the moonlight. Part of it is that even when I use a light it is a small mini-maglite and I NEVER look at the light directly. I used to have an idiot friend that claimed that he couldn't see even when the moon was full and high. This didn't surprise me a bit. The first thing he would do when he turned on a flashlight was first to shine it in my face and then into his!! ???? WTH??? His BIG problem was that he was afraid of the dark...such a wienie!

I am definitely a beast of the night. I always have had a hard time sleeping at night. I am definitely an early-to-bed and early-to-rise person. I have never really understood why white-collar workers worked 9 to 5 but blue-collar people had to be at work at 7. When I started Dansco my Rule number one was that I never had a job before 9 in the morning or after about 3:30 in the afternoon. Then I went home and ordered parts and worked on anything small that I had brought home.

I think that people are not all wired the same as far as their normal rhythm. All of my life I have had a hard time sleeping at night and rising at the asscrack of dawn. I drove my parents crazy. My Dad was a farm boy and thought that laying in bed after about 6 AM was laziness and my Mom got up every morning at about 4:30 so she could have her coffee and some quiet time before starting everyone else's day.

My favorite shift, as far as how I felt physically, was the evening shift. I worked 3:30 to Midnight for years at a shipyard. It was cooler, there were not many nosey bosses looking for someone to bug... and they paid me extra for working then.

Retirement is GREAT!!! I have not set an alarm clock in almost a year. I sleep when I am sleepy and otherwise I do things on my schedule which is mostly all things that I like to do. I Read, write, work in my shops making things, fish, and just live life at my own pace. Everyone warned me that I was going to be bored. NOT A BIT!!!

      Bingo!

My wiring makes me a 2nd shift type of worker.

And, why work during the heat of the day?! Maybe in winter, but during all of the warm months? No.

And siestas make a whole lot of sense. Get a bit done in the morning, lunch & rest in the shade, then finish as the sun enters its afternoon angle. When the sun is straight up, the only thing doing work should be one's solar panels. My skin cancer count now stands at four.

Not related, but I just looked up my latitude relative to the Mediterranean region. My upbringing and current location is in the same latitude area as Morocco, northern Algeria, and Tunisia. The sun hits us pretty hard. Texas is further south yet. Its latitudes are even with southern Algeria, Libya, and Egypt.

In the American South, humidity comes up from the Gulf of Mexico and gets hit with winds coming in from the Northwestern U.S.. When these collide just right, you get massive storms. The South can be dry then get hit with tornadoes. Plus, we get very wide temperature swings. Summers bring temperatures over 90 F / 32 C. Winter brings temperatures below freezing. This year, it got down to 10 degr F / -12 C. In Texas, temperatures over 100 F are not in any way rare, 110 F even (43 F).

I always hated working the blue-collar DAY shift. Too many bosses, hot in the summer and cold in the winter. if you are working in the fields I can see where the mornings are better but why does a factory or in my case a shipyard need to start so early? We had a long walk to the far end of the yard and were expected to be in the shop on time. Walking a half mile in the rain is a piss poor way to start your day. The office people always got there at 9. Naturally, the offices were right there at the front gate. After walking in for several years, the union finally made transportation to and from a part of the contract. LOL, it was either that or pay from the time you clocked in until you clocked out. A federal judge laid that on them.

I've worked Quality Control in a HUGE factory in the South. Had to roam the running final lines to make sure the product build and the Eng. Spec.s matched. Constantly on the move. Second shift was a life-saver for me. Y'get off work hot and sweaty. Second shift allows one to drive home in the cool of the night. Under those conditions, I want the beautiful stars to be in the sky, not the burning sun.

Most of my working life I worked the day shift. I loved the graveyard shift, midnight to 8 a.m.. Got off work in time to run any errands and then got to sleep through the day. I hated the sing shift, 4 p.m. to midnight. Got home wide awake. Swing shift was work, sleep and go back to work. No time to see family or do anything extras. Half my career was spent in the field and the second half was office work.

Just posting some info. Me, I'd never mount a light on my defense weapon. I don't want my enemy to know my position. The light from a flashlight / torch (British term) is a target; plus, you've announced your presence and position. Always first identify the person in your home -- is the person an intruder, a sleep-walking family member, a midnight refrigerator raider, your drunk brother'n'law, police chasing a felon, ... Hey, you don't know even if you imagine you know.

If you've gathered your family together, do NOT leave that room. Train your children what to do in emergencies, then practice these behaviors. There are many types of emergencies, home invasion is a rare one. Execute practice drills for intruders, home fire, tornado, earthquake, loud crashing noises (who knows what that could be?!; drunk drivers crash into homes), ...

I have a handgun in my pocket as I write this. It isn't heavy. The ammunition loaded is factory, but rather rare and rather nasty as to what it does to meat and bone. The trigger pull on this weapon is heavy -- I want it to be. What is the purpose of this little firearm? I only want to buy myself the the time to get to a real defensive weapon. Too, should someone kick a door and attempt to enter my home via violence, I can put a couple or three rounds in that direction. Most young felons would at that point, poop their pants and run away. Me, I'd be heading for a shotgun loaded with buckshot.

We as citizens must understand that police are massively under-trained and are, therefore, sometimes a danger to us. Thus, the "safe room" concept. Get everybody in your home into your designated safe room. Potential police recruits are rejected if their intelligence quotient scores are too high . Why?! Because these people will NOT stick with the force for very long. This doesn't mean that police are stupid. Police departments don't want folk who will over-think the situation; they want people who can be trained and who will obey orders. Police do what they are trained to do. If they hit the wrong house and it is yours, you could be in a world of hurt, or in the graveyard.

The following is continued from above, an incident to be considered (this has happened on numerous occasions):

"Bodycam footage shows police fatally shoot armed homeowner after responding to wrong house"

"Bodycam footage shows police fatally shoot armed homeowner after responding to wrong house"

"There were gunshots in the house and my dad is dead," the daughter told 911, according to CBS News.

Sirens were heard soon after the gunfire ended, according to the video.

"Help! Somebody shot my husband. Please! Please! My kids are upstairs," the wife of the homeowner is heard in the background pleading with officers.

"Once again, we wish to express our condolences to the Dotson family and as your chief of police, I wish to convey how very sorry I am that this tragedy occurred. We will continue to provide updates as we are able," the police chief added in his comment.

The Police are not your friend, too much time is taken up with online "hate" comments and very little on real crime, burglary over here is treated as a paper exercise, you will get a crime number for your insurance company but no actual police attendance, however put some remark about some gay or woke person online and very soon the police will be banging on your door.

Stating the obvious: Even before any SHTF events, simply do NOT open your door to anybody unless they are law enforcement -- even then, call police to notify the police that the "police" are at your front door. If the "police" are actual police, they should have no problem with this.

Anybody just showing up at your front door is in this day and age odd.

Home invaders often knock. What?! Sure. "We are here to deliver ... ." A female shows up, knocks, "My car is broken down and I need help ... ". Her boyfriend and his felonious friends are waiting around the corner of your home. Too, her cohort could be getting ready to break-in at the rear door of your home.

Too, uniforms and fake I.D.s can be purchased by anyone.

If a situation seems "not right", then treat it as such. Don't end up a dead "good Samaritan".

Remember that felons are profoundly arrogant and have zero morals. Sometimes their tactics are thought-out -- surprising, but true. Never imagine that it's only high-tech thieves who have a brain. Prisons are criminal universities where all manner of tactics are learned by inmates. When they get out, they put their newly acquired lessons to play. If they spent as much effort in legal pursuits, they'd have a better income in most cases. But they don't want to work. They want to take.

I figure y'all already know this, but the following article "triggered" me (seems the word "trigger" is popular of late). Too, I had the "broken-down car" used on me before. My reaction to the knock on the door was to load my pump shotgun. Didn't open the door. Did tell the liar what was going to happen to him if he didn't leave. He got in his "broken-down" car and drove off.

"Burglars dressed as DoorDash drivers in Indiana home invasion, court docs say"

    https://whnt.com/news/burglars-dressed-as-doordash-drivers-in-indiana-home-invasion-court-docs-say/

"NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WXIN) — Court documents reveal that two armed men pretended to be DoorDash delivery drivers in order to get inside an Indiana home during an attempted burglary — which officials say turned deadly for one of the would-be burglars.

"Grayson Rhue, 18, of Roswell, Georgia, was shot and killed on April 6 at the Noblesville, Indiana, home. Rhue, along with 22-year-old Ruai Ngundeng Pal, are accused of an attempted home invasion that backfired when one of the occupants inside the home pulled a gun.

"Shortly before 10:20 p.m. on April 6, police were called to the home. The caller told 911 dispatch that her son had just shot at two suspects who had forced their way into the home.

"Court documents reveal that witness testimony and surveillance footage corroborate that Pal and Rhue arrived at the home dressed as DoorDash drivers. They approached the home with a DoorDash bag with Taco Bell 'Quesaritos' along with two Baja Blast Freeze drinks.

"Surveillance footage reportedly shows Rhue force his way inside the home and telling the man who answered the door to 'Go inside, don’t make any noise.'

"Occupants inside the home said the men were armed and pointed a gun at one of them. In response, one of the other occupants retrieved his own gun and fired at the intruders.

"Court documents reveal that seven shots could be heard from inside the residence before Rhue was seen running out the front door and dropping the DoorDash bag.

"Pal was arrested in his hometown of Franklin, Tennessee, and faces multiple felony charges including murder, burglary with a deadly weapon and armed robbery. Rhue was found by police two houses down from where the shooting occurred, lying at the end of a driveway and dead from his multiple gunshot wounds.

"Police on scene reported finding a Walther handgun below the dropped DoorDash bag. A check by police revealed the gun was stolen out of Georgia.

"Investigators ended up learning that Rhue had been staying at a Noblesville hotel. Pal is also seen in hotel security footage with Rhue. Police also tracked the duo’s movements prior to the shooting to the Noblesville Home Depot where they can be seen buying a crowbar."

    ------------------------------------

OK, so this story has a happy ending. Don't let your's be an unhappy ending.

Here's another lesson from this article. The felons used a stolen weapon (duh!!!; legal firearms are rarely, if ever, used in robberies). So, don't let your firearms fall into the hands of uncivilized "humans". When not at home, lock your home weapons up in your gun safe(s). Got a carry permit? If you do, then take it with you on your person. If you leave your carry handgun at home, then that weapon also goes in the gun safe -- not in the closet, not in your sock drawer.

This post is just a reminder, everyone. Be alert. Be safe.

home invasions this far out are rare, there was one about 10 years ago in the next street but that wasnt incomers that was the next door neighbour looking for anything he could sell for drugs, that was then and he is long gone, nothing since. we keep our front door locked at all times even out here. cold callers have been a nuisance in the past mostly JW but the pandemic seems to have shut that down.
I keep an eye on the crime figures for this area but there is nothing much here for anyone to steal and any "crime " that gets as far as being reported is usually only a domestic, its quiet here and very remote, we get few tourists and the main occupation is farming.

I'm mainly speaking to Americans. Here in the former USA, the criminal element is becoming omnipresent. The cities are almost always the worst, but that criminal cancer has metastasized out into America's Heartland. The spread is usually due to the drug trade. Here it is oxicodone and crystal meth.

    "Self Defense Laws"

    https://www.criminaldefenselawyer.com/resources/self-defense-laws.htm

"All states have self-defense laws that allow people who are threatened to use reasonable force to defend themselves or others, and to avoid criminal liability from their use of force. However, each state has its own rules governing the use of force in self-defense, and any use of force that occurs outside the bounds of the state's laws can result in a criminal conviction. For example, a person who is attacked may fight back, but may not necessarily use deadly force. ...

"In addition to considering whether the defendant's response was reasonable, in many states the use of deadly force in self-defense (force likely to kill or seriously injure someone) is in a class of its own. In these states, the defendant cannot use deadly force unless the victim first uses or threatens deadly force. There must be some evidence that the defendant was reasonably in fear for his own life, such as when:
    > the victim had a gun or other deadly weapon, or
    > the victim was causing or threatening to cause serious injury or death.

"In some states, defendants cannot use deadly force in self-defense if they can safely retreat from the attack. For example, in a state that imposes a duty to retreat, a person who is about to be attacked by another partygoer, but who has ample opportunity to leave or otherwise escape the situation, cannot legally pull out a gun and shoot the attacker. However, there are some exceptions to the duty to retreat and it does not apply in all states."

"The castle doctrine refers to self-defense laws that allow individuals to use force, including deadly force, to protect themselves within their own homes or other legally occupied spaces without the obligation to retreat. Several states in the United States have adopted the castle doctrine, including California, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Oregon, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and Wyoming.

"The castle doctrine is often seen as an extension of the concept of the home as a person’s sanctuary, where they have the right to protect themselves and their loved ones from intruders or threats. By allowing individuals to defend their homes without the duty to retreat, castle laws recognize the importance of personal safety within one’s own property. It is important to note, however, that the specifics of castle doctrine laws can vary between states.

"Castle Doctrine vs. Stand Your Ground – What’s the Difference?"

    https://www.shouselaw.com/ca/blog/castle-doctrine-vs-stand-your-ground/

"The castle doctrine allows you to use deadly force against intruders to defend yourself within your own home. In contrast, the stand your ground doctrine allows you to use proportional force to reasonably defend yourself at any location where you have a legal right to be.

"Both doctrines require no duty to retreat. Though whereas the castle doctrine is typically limited to your residence, the stand your ground doctrine applies anywhere. Also, the castle doctrine permits you to use deadly force, whereas the stand your ground doctrine allows proportional force – which may or may not include deadly force depending on the danger you are facing.

"Only some states recognize the castle doctrine and stand your ground doctrine. Though every state recognizes the basic concept of self-defense, which permits you to use proportional physical force to defend yourself and others if you reasonably fear immediate bodily injury – though some states impose a duty to retreat before fighting back."

Old Geezer's take (and also that of America's Founding Fathers; God's eternal Mercy be upon them): Any government that disallows firearms for the defense of home and family is invalid and should be overthrown. Men, even women (the women in my world were in no way weak), need also to be able to come to the defense of the state and community should horrid circumstances present. Sacred Liberty also requires deep responsibility out of citizens. One has safety or Liberty, not both. Those who seek safety are sheep.
