The world amazes me now. I thought my kids were joking the first time I heard them use the term "Adulting" and it seems like people have truly forgotten how to deal with life.

I've been under depression since 2017 and suffering from anxiety since late August, with my BP dropped to 90/60 to the point I've seen that black humanoid like figure (sans the scythe) lurking at my window and I told him to fuck off and that I refuse to die and he better go elsewhere, and afterward I suffered from acid reflux, and I'm currently struggling to recover from all those. I've also got panic attack just last week :(

Things that I've managed to learn from all those is the best way to deal with anxiety is to understand the root cause of problem / symptom. In my case (just last week) the physician explained to me that it was the acid reflux that has causing the pain chest and everything else, and that there is nothing wrong with me other than the acid reflux, and all I need to do is to change my diet and dealt with my depression and recommend me to see a psychiatrist.

It is. I've already reach the point where I no longer confident with my ability to handle / carry firearm (loaded gun + hallucination is a really bad combination) thus I sold my only rifle, and no longer driving (also sold my car last month)

Varuna, you may want to try a different doctor. I'm pretty sure hallucinations are never a symptom of depression or acid reflux. That psychiatrist may be a good start. Good luck to you.

The hallucination occur when my BP went below 90/60. My guess is there isn't enough oxygen goes to the brain and I start seeing thing such as the angel of death guy. Anyway all the doctors keep telling me to go to psychiatrist and already done so (sort of). The psychiatrist is a nephew of mine but she no longer practicing and already change career into a housewife, but she still qualified psychiatrist nonetheless.

    Good afternoon Varuna,

    You've got a good physician.

My 2 Singapore Dollars worth of a contribution here: Read, read, read all about depression and anxiety.

Look up "Toldesangst". Sigmund Freud had it. I have it now.

Besides reading the psychological literature, ... I have much of it here - look for the "pure" literature. I learned much by reading Miguel Unamuno's classic on life. Another westerner I've studied: Viktor E. Frankl, M.D. a psychiatrist who was in a Nazi concentration camp. He wrote "Man's Search For Meaning".

I avoid the "Eastern" / "Oriental" material.

Read the Franz Kafka stuff and ...... well ...... not for this site to discuss.

In my current mental condition I barely able to even plot ocean passage navigational course in a simulator, I even had difficult time making personal real account ledger using spreadsheet. Recovery do takes time :(

I have a strange mixture of mental and personality 'disorders' (disorder is a very useless term since nowadays it is used to describe anything 'they' view as abnormal) so sometimes I'm not sure if I'm lucky or just can't tell that I'm doomed lol

    Good morning Varuna,

You're among colleagues here. Just follow your physician's guidance.

    ...

You could be injured from a volcanic eruption, tired from doing all the work the others are not doing, and you're experiencing those psychological ailments - - - - - - and still, ... you're in better shape than most. "Most" do not even know what's going on with the volcano.

We've got people here in the US working navigation matters and without computer assistance, could not convert nautical miles to great circle statute miles.

    Just "maintain the pace".

If having hallucinations, your general practitioner needs to get you to a neurologist who will get CAT scans and an MRI. Low blood pressure as cause? Maybe, however we don't keep "maybe this or that" lying about. You get the tests. If you are having low B.P. issues, then that needs to be tracked down. Esophageal spasms can induce vasovagal episode, that and two dozen other things.

Think about this, your anxiety could simply be one of the symptoms -- NOT THE CAUSE.

Acid reflux?!!! Did he send you for an endoscopic evaluation of your esophagus, stomach, and duodenum? Did he have a barium swallow performed? While it is true that esophageal spasms can wreak havoc and cause pain worse than a heart attack, still, holy crap!, there are tests that MUST be run so as to confirm.

In my little pea-sized brain right now, I have stacks and stacks of possible etiologies appertaining. ONLY testing can narrow-down the possible pathologies.

If your physicians are full of crap then get 2nd, 3rd, ... 8th opinions. No semi-competent physician will write-off such symptomatology.

Really torques me when some "professional" pulls something out of their butt and tosses it at a patient.

Those are great points. Thank You so much for bring it up :)

My hallucination (The Angel of Death guy) only occur when my BP was dropped low and I've never had any history of hallucinating whatsoever before (even back in my teenager days when I was still smoking weed and doing other stupid things). And my BP has improve (currently 110/80). And to be honest I was actually elect to forgo all additional test when the physician recommending it (it scare the heck out of me)
Although my current condition is improving I'm still going to checking up next week because my stomach still not feel well (albeit already improving). Although with my current I definitely unable to enjoy my favorite cuisine (it slightly poisonous, but very delicious nonetheless)

This is something I haven't consider and never thought of. Thanks for bring it up :)

Esophageal reflux is not just some unpleasant visitor. Let's pretend that reflux is "all you have". Friend, stomach acid will erode your esophagus. You'll bleed ... and even worse. I saw a 25 yr old puke, aspirate, and die. He had bleeding ulcers. I've had bleeding ulcers. We're talking serious.

Get scoped, dude. Tell the doc you want to be sedated to hell and back. I did. Good I did. Had multiple bleeding holes in my stomach. I was passing coffee grounds out the distal end. Doc told me, "You are in trouble." He was right.

Another reason they have to sedate me is because I'm a hillbilly and default to fighting. No sht. Last thing I remembered was grabbing the tube and them fighting me. Another surgery, I remember trying to come up off the table, but I was tied down, then they knocked me down with dope. I had warned them. My wife had warned them. They tied me down. Good they did. That surgery came out great. Bit by bit, surgeons are putting me back together again.

    You get scoped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
