    Good afternoon all,

    Per ...

It continues to be legal to sleep on the sidewalks of Boise.

Kathleen's letter suggests getting these homeless airline tickets and food vouchers for relocation to Supreme Court Building, Wash, D.C.

There must be a viable solution. Other places have addressed this issue. New York City was placing their homeless in hotels (It hit the news when discovered these homeless could legally use room service for meals.)

Was reading where somewhere (Can't remember the town) has started using Conestoga Huts and other small sheds to shelter homeless. Seemed like a decent idea to me.

Seems like a low cost / low tech solution to a growing problem to me. I figure you could build one for less than $500.

    Thoughts?

Everyone has a story. I've spoke to many homeless in different states while working and heard everything from mental cases that couldn't deal with society, Vets that couldn't readjust to society and people that are just down on there luck and dealt a bad hand by life.

    Good morning Dale and Randy,

I recall this entire problem started in New York well prior to the "out West" problem.

The mental institutes were legally required to de- institutionalize those meeting the criteria of the new law's implementing regulations. This requires the work products of 2 labor categories: an attorney to serve as state appointed legal guardian of the person and a real estate agent to arrange for housing and state checks to be processed and routed to the landlord.

Add the rest of the narrative and then add California and "out West".

    Good morning all,

Above link adds to this subject under discussion.

Article says the Supremes' decision distills down to "more supportive housing and temporary shelters".

If I was homeless, I would camp outside the shelter and definitely not inside. The reasoning to this was clearly established in 2011 Fukushima reports. Inside the shelters were germ traps. Idaho gets chilly but worth the risk compared to entering the filth-trap.

The linked article has some interesting comments.

As bleak as it is, Bradford Telamans "illegal immigration" cycle presents much reality. Why pay rent when a cot and free meals are available ?

Startup Guy's question requires "ADA compliant".

Boise, in addition to being the only really large city (pop. ~300,000) in my state, is just about the only area which even approaches being "liberal". Of course, for Idaho, "liberal" means even Democrats are allowed to be within the city limits after dark.

As an aside, Idaho has the most restrictive drug laws in the United States -- yes, even more so than Utah! What's interesting is that our two next-door neighbors to the west, Oregon and Washington, are just the opposite ... and Boise is pretty close to the state line. Hmmmm....

Lived in Washington in the early 90's and the natives HATED all the Californians that were moving in. Pretty sure of the reason WA and OR slid down the liberal spiral.

I have been told but can not confirm some locations with homeless problems , give the homeless a special brochure and tell them they can pick out any of the wonderful places described in the brochure and they will provide them with free transportation to the place of their choice . A town near me i was told is on the brochure . Definently has been an increase in the homeless in that area since the brochure rumor began circulating .
