In all socialist/communist governments....the State is God and tends towards following the outline and pattern of the philosopher George Fredrick Wilhelm Hegel.

This, historically, is also known as "Absolute Power or Divine Right of Kings." Again..the very form of government our founders were trying to prevent here in the colonies and for which they had earlier failed in the Articles of Confederation.

For those of you who do not know this history "Absolute Power or Divine Right of Kings" was laid to rest in the western world on January 30, 1649 with the beheading of King Charles the 1st for treason.

There is a reason Americans are never to know this history such that we can be more easily herded to and towards a government with "Absolute Power and Divine Right of Kings."

And here we see a government and leaders threatening to take a position towards "Absolute Power and Divine Right of Kings" to remove from people their property without them having committed any crime. And in this secure government....not the freedoms and liberties of the people.

You are looking at government verging on Treason to our form of government and in like manner to
China in Hong Kong ...trying to "Herd" the people...unto bondage.

A government of Ishmaelites run wild.

In Isaac shall thy seed be called.....not in Ishmael

Greetings Pragmatist -- and all of the rest of you other brothers from other mothers on New Year's Day! I would have responded earlier, but we just got back from visiting our kids (D. and S-i-L) in in that great bastion of (whatever it is a great bastion of) AKA Seattle WA. Other kid, the school-teacher, came up from Phoenix and we had many interesting politico/philosophical discussions around the dinner table.

All three kids, even the two tree-huggers, are now armed and get to the range about every third week. I just wish they'd all get out of their cities and move to Idaho; they'd be safer and I wouldn't have to break my back hustling hay bales and bags of chicken-feed!

P., the CDC link is worth its weight in .22LR; Dawn and I have both been reading and taking notes.

It is my belief that the Virginia situation could, especially as the darkness of legislative action and potential violence unfold, result in very significant spillover. This potential should gather the attention of survivalists all across America and possibly Great Britain and Europe.

The Commonwealth of Virginia is now irreparably divided between two camps, Heartlanders and urbanites. It once was a matter of differing viewpoints, it is now overt anger.

If a shooting war begins in Virginia, Tennesseans will assuredly send aid north into Virginia. Tennesseans will give safe-haven to Virginians who will have been made felons by the signatures of Virginia anti-American legislators. Many people of Kentucky, West Virginia, and North Carolina will do the same. I see in future lots of supplies coming over the mountains from West Virginia and Kentucky. Tennessee got its name, the Volunteer State, from helping Texas split from Mexico. I know these folk; they will do this again.

From the Southeastern USA, the drawing of battle lines -- literal -- will spread across the entire USA. The United States of America has become the dis-United States of America.

Currently, the Executive branch of the federal government (lead by Donald Trump) will likely NOT allow federal troops to enforce anti-2A laws enacted by Virginia's collectivist regime. That could change if the internationalists step-in heavily with the machinery of US politics. They were behind Obama, remember. The Democrats got Lincoln assassinated in 1865.

The spilling of conflict could trigger other dominoes to fall, OR other dominoes could exacerbate the widening of conflict between the two Americas. Think about what an economic "downturn" (ex. collapsing dollar) would do should it happen during an existing disaster. It would quadruple the mayhem.

Is everything going great internationally right now? I would have to think for a while to come up with a list of the multitude of conflicts internationally. In Great Briton, these are the days leading up to Brexit. The elitist collectivists never imagined that the people of G.B. would stand up to them and say, "We're not paying anymore for your pie-in-the-sky B.S.!" Yet, it is mightily manifest that the people of GrBritain want their Liberty back. The influx of immigrants has brought savagery to England. And not just England. Continental Europe is suffering from the crime and other uncivilized behaviors of their newly-arrived immigrants. Sweden is getting grenade attacks. Muslims attack the "infidels" throughout continental Europe. The peoples of Austria and Hungary are now standing up and saying, "No, we are not going to take in these hordes! We are tired of kowtowing to you Euro-dictators!"

Rejecting serfdom, citizens are standing up and the socialists are determined to beat them down hard.

We who prepare must prepare for this rapidly-evolving environment.

Self-sufficiency in the coming years will be a matter of life or death. Boys and girls, the infrastructure is falling out of civilization. It is happening right here and now.

I wonder if the swamp creatures in Washington D.C. has a hand in getting this lunacy going on in Virginia . All their other desperate attempts to remove Donald Trump from office has failed and they know this impeachment farce is also doomed for failure . Perhaps they think if they can get a Civil War going it will damage Trump and they will stand a chance of defeating him in the Nov. election .

    Good morning Poltiregist,

IMO, Yes, Virginia is the ideal state to test legislation for nation-wide implementation.

Once a somewhat decent southern state, although run as a fiefdom by the Byrd family, the place is now populated by socialists who are lazy.

Trump will probably loss Virginia's electoral votes (11), but he controls most all pay checks and the Commonwealth of Virginia budget. Virginia requires a balanced budget and without Federal "help", the place is another Puerto Rico, in a form of bankruptcy.

The timing of the Virginia crises in relation to the desperate Democrat and one world globlest crowd is no coincidence . I would not mind joining a Civil War to defend freedom but over the next eleven months we need to not let the Swamp Creatures push us into an armed conflict . That would give them an opening that they would try to use to regain power . Judging from the derangement displayed on the Never Trumper side , if they ever regain power they will try to rigg any fair election in the future to such a degree it will make their past election riggin look like childs play . Our freedom and our decendants freedom lay in the balance . Victory is within our grasps , for those that want to hold off communism . Stay calm and don't let the globlest push us into doing something that could cause the loss of the Nov. election .

What delights my heart about the coming conflict in Virginia is the unity among those standing up for the Constitution in its original intent. Masses of people are showing up -- someone else on this site has mentioned the numbers of people showing up. Government buildings are being swarmed.

If the anti-Liberty crew uses force against the pro-Liberty citizens, then they will hand the election to conservative candidates come November. That is base minimum. If the Left goes heavy-handed in the USA, they could touch-off a tsunami of retaliation, even revolution. Think about the resulting conflict should Antifa return to Virginia with the purpose of going violent against Patriotic citizens therein! Talk about bloodshed!

And, the world is watching. The world's collectivist media is suppressing news of communist China's violence against the people of Hong Kong. It will be difficult for them to not report another American Revolution.

From what I have heard many law enforcement members are actively joining militias in the State of Virginia in preparation to defend the US Constitution and second amendment rights if in fact the Governor orders confiscation of weapons.

Also noted in the video that I posted is the Governor and elected officials attempts to push law enforcement to act unconstitutionally and follow illegal laws that they enact by threatening law enforcement with loss of jobs, healthcare and pensions and retirement if they do not act in accordance of these unconstitutional laws they are trying to push through. This is very dangerous ground for these elected officials as these law enforcement officers have taken an oath and may backfire and blow up right in the elected officials faces if push comes to shove. As we all know, a very high percentage of police are ex military today.

    Really great news!

Lightens my heart immeasurably to know that future generations also have the flame of Liberty burning in their hearts.

I visit Thomas Jefferson's grave and while there always say prayers for him, his family, and his cohorts in the fight against tyranny. I'm so indebted to these people that I'm left without words. It's my belief that Thomas Jefferson is brought joy in Heaven that so many still value the freedoms for which they fought.

According to militia leaders in Virginia they have thousands of Virginians signed up in their militia . A lot of those are recent sign up members . This despite the rouge governor trying to make being in a militia in Virginia illegal . Non Virginians in long established militias preparing to aid Virginia . Non Virginia militia number into the tens of thousands . Any thoughts on how to get that many people to Virginia for the Jan. 20 showdown ? I am thinking the airports may not be able to handle all the militia flying in . Duce an half trucks would be ideal but I doubt they have near enough of those . Any thoughts or suggestions on the transport logistics .

I have heard that virgina is attempting to pass a law that makes it illegal to "paramilitary train". In my opinion much of the reno/Clinton BS years ago was to discredit militias. They basically drove the michigan militia underground for all practical purposes.

A very popular technique of governments trying to secure more and more power and control/herding over their people...less freedom and liberty.....is to manufacture a bad guy in the public conscience. This is the tool/technique so often used and misused on an ill informed public.

And militias found themselves very vulnerable to politics here and the boot lackey of politicians...a willing sensation driven press looking for a good guy/bad guy narrative to set the hook on such gullible TV educated Americans.

Such Governments do not like competition in ideas or thinking...they like herd animals. With what happened to the Michigan Militia under the Obama Administration...I was able to confirm what I had been thinking was going on and coming to America. Internationalism to replace our Constitution and limited government.

People have a right to assemble...armed or unarmed under Amendment 1. This is clearly legislation to protect the liberties of government not the liberties of the people.

This is also clearly legislation to lay the groundwork for the United Nations Agenda 21 mandates.

This is also the struggle going on under the Trump Administration..America under the Constitution..or Internationalism replacing and overriding our Constitutional Protections against government.

In this our state government is showing itself to be full of internationalist Ishmaelites.

The Virginia Governor/Government is attempting to stifle competition to their "international" religion of beliefs and move government towards "unlimited power" and the people towards limits on their freedoms and liberties.

A 180 degree flip flop of what was intended by the framers...ironically many of them from Virginia.

It will not end with the "herding" of gun control.

    It is an ominous synchronicity.

True, this is a war against the U.S. Constitution, however there is much more to what is happening now.

The USA, especially the urban areas, are abandoning the Light of Divinity and turning to man-made utopianism. Such a turning-away has been predicted in multiple world religious texts. It is a sign of the end-times.

    Matthew chapter 24:

19"And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! 20But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: 21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. 23Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25Behold, I have told you before."

Old Geezer sayeth: Fellow preppers, it's not just going to hit the fan, it's hitting the fan right now. Do you have any finishing touches that you have been postponing? If so, looks to me as if this is the time for us to begin anticipating the manifestation of the most horrible realities of life, war and pestilence.

What is happening in Virginia, what is developing in the Middle East, what is happening with the Pacific Ring of Fire, ..., all of these synchronous evil, chaotic, spiritually dark events popping up all around our planet point to a Culmination. This Culmination will become a horrid weight upon the chest of humanity. There may be no way to avoid hard times, yet let us not only prepare in the realm of the material but also let us prepare our hearts for what now seems so very close in its approach. For me, it means re-learning to pray, even with this ancient, cynical, darkened heart of mine.

We along with our fellow Earthlings are going to get slammed. The midnight hour approaches.

    Good morning Old Geezer,

Yes, indeed, already hitting the fan. It's just that the American public likes the breeze and avoids all un - pleasantries.

Yes, some postponed finishing touches. In my case it is the current SHTF so that I can't deliver some additional PPE and equipment to kids in D.C. Everyone's preparing except those of Middle America needing to rapidly prepare.

A little earlier than Matt was Dave's successful unification of 12 antagonistic tribes to allow for joint efforts and economies of scale. He got famous for the result. Here, in the annex of the Third Temple, the doctor tribe, the soldier tribe and the welfare tribe wrote off the other 9 tribes. We of the other 9 tribes are scripture-classic descendants working as field-hand equivalents with historical names such as "slaves", "serfs", laborers" ,..

The Prepper Half-Tribe is on schedule to fare OK, relatively speaking.

Just some thoughts on preparing NOW...

I am more than a little worried this year about the possibility of something truly catastrophic happening. There seems to be an ever-growing tension in all levels of human interaction from the international level all the way down into families. The racial tensions in the US seems to be at a low simmer and the crime in some of the cities have made them almost as dangerous as a war zone.

The political problem here is nearing an explosion point. Even if you can get enough liberals to elect someone that doesn’t mean that they can do to the other voters whatever they want to do. If 51% of the people in a state elect someone that then tries to take away the rights and guns from the 49% the blood is going to flow. The liberals are not in the military or the national guards. I have honestly never known a liberal cop. SO, who are they going to get to fight their battles??

Whatever… I think that we need to take a serious look at what we need to stock up on for just in case. I offer these suggestions mostly to the frugal prepper that doesn’t have the deep pockets to spend 10,000 bucks on the best and most expensive supplies and gears.

You want to have some weapons. Without those, you can’t defend your life or the possessions that you have and will need to survive. I know that right now most survivalists act like if you don’t go militaristic you are doomed but the fact is that defensive weaponry is different than military offensive weaponry. For a sort of minimal armory I think that you will like to have an automatic 22lr, ( I like the Ruger 10-22), A pump shotgun (I have Mossberg 500s but Remington and Winchester make great pump shotguns too), A 30 caliber centerfire Rifle, ( a lever-action 30-30 or a bolt action 308 will either get the job done depending on the terrain in your area.) and a handgun. ( I am mixed on this but a revolver generally offers more dependability while the current autos offer tremendous firepower. If nothing else a good 22lr handgun will offer you an easily carried weapon that will leave your hands free while being rapidly available. I have a 9 shot Taurus 94 that is a very nice 22lr revolver based on the S&W K frame revolvers. Ruger also makes several nice 22 lr automatics that are dependable. The nice thing about a 22 handgun is that ammo is cheap enough that you can practice a lot and get good with it.

A 22LR doesn’t have the stopping power but I can assure you that when you cut loose with a 22 nobody is going to ignore you. A 22 is great for suppressing fire. If an attacker is running and hiding he can’t be busy shooting back at you and this gives you time to rearm with heavier weapons or get to a good defensive possession. While a 22 lacks immediate stopping power it will be a certain killer if you are gutshot with no medical care available.

After you have a way to defend what you have then you can start to add supplies. Food, of course, will be the first thought. I know that the gourmet freeze-dried backpacking meals and survival supplies are sexy but all that you need is stuff that will keep you fueled. Beans, rice, canned meats, sugar, flour, and cornmeal will keep you alive forever. You can supplement this with game and local greens. I also add dried corn to my supplies I can grind it or boil it and eat it. Around here this time of year every convenience store is selling a 50-pound bag of field corn for deer feeders. It is dirt cheap. Along with these basic supplies don’t forget salt and spices. I buy salt in 50-pound sacks of rock salt for pools. I can grind it up into granulated salt.

Once you have some basic food supplies you need to think about cooking things. I have a lot of different choices on this. I have a wood-burning boxwood stove, a propane grill with a burner, a gasoline-powered Coleman stove and a propane Coleman stove but the one that I think has the greatest potential is an Eco-zoom rocket stove. That will boil 2 gallons of water in 15 minutes and you can burn any organic matter in it. Once it is up to temperatures there is no smoke because it burns the smoke by flooding the combustion chamber with air. I also have a 110-pound wood-burning smoker that will allow me to preserve meat.

For cooking, you can’t beat cast iron. I have a full set of cast iron that I inherited. My Mama cooked with it all my life and it is still in great shape and will last another hundred years. I also have some large stainless steel pots that will be handy for boiling water, frying turkeys, or cooking for large groups. I also inherited some three-legged dutch ovens and pots that are nice over a fire. You can get cast iron dirt cheap at flea markets. You clean them up and then can re-season them. If you are not bugging out you need some of these.

You are going to need shelter and I hate to tell you this but most houses built these days will be tough to live in without any power. They will be hot as hell in the summer and cold to the point of lethality in the winters. They were designed for powered climate control and without it they are going to have to be heavily modified to be made useful. If we get hit by a summer hurricane and it knocks out our power, we move out into the yard in tents or sleep on the porches.

You need to think now about how to heat your home without power and even more important you need MORE heavier and better winter clothes because even when you “heat” your place you may not be at a toasty 70 degrees. On the worst days, you will just be happy to keep it above 40.

If I were in a part of the country where cold winters were the norm I might think about building a small heavily insulated storage building that you could move into in the coldest parts of the winter and heat with a small wood-burning stove. Another thought might be to insulate the walls in an interior room of your home that you could move into for winter. Small areas are easier to warm and keep warm.

For the summer months, you may want to just move outdoors. We have huge porches that I will close in with a screen or cloth to keep the bugs out for the summer nights. We also have several tents that are great for sleeping in. I might set up one of those under one of my carport sheds for this.

We are pretty well prepared. If things start looking bad I will go shopping with plastic and stock up while plastic and money are still good. I bought a lot of stuff before Y2K and then returned some of it after things settled.

Tex you make some excellent points about prepping; even the resident traitorous communist neo-liberal here (yr. humble servt.) can't find much to disagree with. However, my comments:

You have described my armory to a T, with minor differences: my .30 cal rifle is in .30-'06; knowing what I know now, I think I'd prefer a .308. I also have a plain vanilla AR-15 with BUIS and a 2-stage Geissele trigger; knowing what I know now, I'd get rid of it for one of those new Ruger PC carbines, which uses the same 9 mm ammunition as my handgun. If I could only have one gun it'd probably be the finest rifle available today: the 10-22.

Being from Idaho, most of my neighbors are members of The Church, and we have adopted their credo about every family having a year's supply of food stored up. (We don't have the whole year yet, but we're getting there). The trick is to store what you eat and eat what you store. For canned foods we have some storage units in the pantry that allows the cans to roll down an inclined plane. Load from the back, pick from the front. We also pick up our grain from the various LDS stores around here and store 'em in 5-gallon buckets with gamma lids and oxygen-eater packets. We'll take a month's worth of grain and put it in a #10 can with a plastic lid; it'll last at least a month as long as we keep it dry and cool. Then we'll grind either enough if we're going to make 2-3 loaves of bread or a cup at a time for smaller recipes. You can grind the grains if you have a KitchenAid mixer and the grain mill attachment if you have one. I would like to have a Country Living Grain Mill, but at $850 with the optional electric motor, we're talking too much money here.

Amen, Brother! The only thing I'd add to that is to beg, borrow, or steal a Volcano Stove. I don't know if they're still available, but with a Volcano and three or four 10-pound bags of charcoal briquettes, you can cook a meal for a family for about a year.[/QUOTE]

Things are heating up. It will be interesting to see if Antifa troops will be brought into Virginia for the pro-2nd-ammentment protests against the new rifle/handgun confiscation laws being proposed in the state House of Representatives. What with a far left Governor (he is for late-term abortions and post-birth killing of severely handicapped babies) and now a collectivist majority in the Virginia State House, anti-Constitutional laws are likely to pass.

During the Charlottesville protests against the tearing down of the Robert E. Lee statue, Antifa by the hundreds were brought in to attack the protesters (the protesters were a bad joke, real KKK are bad news, these protesters looked like geeks). UVa professors and the local Leftist community pooled their dollars to pay for the transportation of Antifa into Charlottesville so as to cause violence. College professors were there in amongst the Leftists to show support.

Police in Seattle ignore Antifa violence:
    https://www.3ccorp.net/2020/01/10/w...ile-blazetv-reporter-assaulted-by-antifa-mob/
Watch the 2nd video! The first video is background info only. In part II, things get heated.

United Nations involvement sounds kooky, yet Western nations are under attack for not kowtowing to collectivist demands. Who knows?! In the USA (that is no longer United). England is being threatened for its pro-Brexit atmosphere. The anger everywhere is exploding and such is part'n'parcel of the global SHTF collapse process -- there are multiple components. We should track such chaos to guide us in our preparations.

    Good afternoon Old Geezer,

Two days ago the Virginia legislature passed a law prohibiting guns in the state capitol area and also in any close offices of the delegates and their staffs.

I don't follow this stuff closely; driving AROUND Richmond to get to Appalachia is my trip's big headache.

The left and the right are close to reaching the point where they are not going to be able to live together. The problem is that the left will not, can not survive as a country. None of them are going to get their hands dirty and none of them will even try to defend themselves or their nation.

Sadly the left-wing has become the antithesis of survivors. the far-right-wing in some ways is little better just has different but equally deadly flaws. The good news is that there is very little meat out on the wings and nearly none on the wingtips. Most real Americans are somewhere in the middle. The bad news is that we the majority are almost totally unrepresented because too many of us keep stupidly voting for the Republican right or the Democratic left...neither of these parties now represent America and American ways as set out by the founding fathers in the constitution. their allegiance is to their party first, foremost and in total. I believe that either one would destroy this country if they thought that it would allow them to take total power.

I no longer have any hope that America as a whole is ever going to wake up. We in some places are now electing people that make very little effort to hide that they are not Americans and will sell us out to our enemies every chance they get. Obama financed Iran's military efforts and its nuclear program.

Our first Muslim President routinely gave ISIS a heads up in advance of any military action the US. Military Commanders were planning so ISIS could avoid casualties . No wonder we couldn't make headway with the War . It took less than two years for the military under President Trump to basically destroy them . Our Muslim President presented pallets of cash compliments of U.S. tax payers to the Muslim government in Iran so they could better finance killing Americans . We still have deranged people here in the U.S. that think the Muslim was a good president . If this U.S. derangement grows it will be the end of freedom for U.S. citizens . Preppers could find themselves hiding from a Muslim or Communist U.S. government intent on hunting them down . We can see this manifesting itself in Virginia right now .

Originally it was designed for charcoal briquettes only; then they had them in either charcoal, wood, or propane combinations; it looks like the only thing the seem to sell now is the propane only, which is not exactly the best approach for along-term SHTF use!

By the way, if you placed X+1 briquettes on top of the dutch oven's rimmed lid and X briquettes on the bottom (where "X" is the diameter of the oven in inches), you would maintain a pretty steady 300 deg. F temperature inside. For each briquette you added (top and bottom) you would raise the interior temperature by 20 deg. F. This really comes in handy if you're baking bread on a trivet (standoff) inside the dutch oven.

By the way, the dutch oven is the official state cookware of the Great State of Deseret (Utah to all you heathens)!

Took time today to go through the links Olde Geezer has provided to the members here.

What I get out of them is Ishmaelites run wild.

But furthermore what I also get is a devout and zealous religion behind it...driving it and America towards loss of liberty and freedom. One size fits all. Except for government and whoever and whatever is the government.

Or put another way....Equality will be found at the poverty level for all but the rulers on the inside of this manufactured chaos.

What I also get is that this is a runaway devout religion of Demonism behind supposed educated people who should know better.

And if this replaces our free market economic system it will produce poverty and further chaos.

Ishmaelites run wild. I dislike entitlement minded people.

God bless Texas. If an ANTIFA nut attacked a bunch of people at some sort of MAGA rally with hammers he would have more holes in him than a spaghetti colander. You saw what happened in a Church. At a MAGA rally in Texas, the number of people with a handgun in a holster under their coat would be about 25%...and they would ALL clear leather. Attacking people with hammers and crowbars only works in a place where the laws and police are actively protecting the criminal's rights to do ANYTHING that they want to do. Eventually, THAT very thing is going to be the cause of a moderate and conservative uprising.

In Texas before 1995 I and most people that I knew were registered, Democrats. It wasn't that I/we were actually Democrats so much as it was that if you wanted to vote in local elections you pretty much HAD to be a Democrat. This was because in local small and average-sized cities and places the Republicans didn't even bother to run anybody and if they did they didn't put any money into it. It was sort of like the Libertarians and a protest vote. The REAL election was in the Democratic primary and the winner of that usually ran unopposed.

Before the 1990s, honestly, the Democratic party was perceived as more of a working man's party while the Republicans seemed to have more interest in the rich and company owners. All of that changes when a man walked into a Luby's Restaurant in Killeen Texas and casually walked around killing people. We demanded the right to carry guns to protect ourselves. The legislature heard us and passed new laws that made concealed carry legal if licensed . The left-wing Governor Ann Richards vetoed it...and THAT was the last Democratic Governor we had. She was out in a flash and the laws were changed and are still changing giving us not just the right to carry guns but the right to use lethal force any time anywhere if we are attacked and have a reasonable reason to fear for our life, bodily injury or to prevent felonious theft of our property.

If the Americans that are NOT Wingers either left-wing or right-wing will get mad and both vote and DEMAND that the parties give us what we demand this country can yet be saved. Consider the power for a moment of the Black vote in the US. then understand they are ONLY a little over 10% of the eligible voters. They got tired of getting the short end of the stick in everything and started voting and demanding change. Can you imagine if the centrist part of the American voting group of both the Democratic and Republican parties got together and Demanded change???

Most people that I know that vote Republican are not all that happy with them in general. They talk a good show but then as soon as the election is over they go back to business as usual and do nothing. I can assure you that most registered Democrats are NOT Socialists, Communist or ANTFA people. With a couple of exceptions, most of the presidential elections in my life have been decided by people voting for the lesser of two bad choices. People aren't voting FOR so much as voting against the one that they dislike the MOST.

As long as the American people sit idly by and let the parties decide who we CAN vote for things are not just not going to change they are going to keep getting worse and worse. If people get MAD and refuse to vote for y the two-party candidates' things will change fast. The parties will collapse and reorganize in ways that will get votes or they will die. We did it in Texas to the liberal Democrats that used to run the state. Now it is time for the good middle of the road Americans to revolt and vote FOR things and refuse to be limited to JUST voting against things.

Could you hear the patriotic music in the background and see the flags waving in the breeze??? LOL...

I would agree with you, even now; however, more and more I see Americans morphing into European serfs. Heartland Americans actually have to work and deal with reality, thus their self-sufficiency and their conservative views. (I voted against the pro-centralized-government, anti-Constitution candidate)

The Heartland America affect is NOT present in urban America, nor in the suburbs of larger cities. These folk are composed of government-check addicts and weak "civilized" (neutered) people who have been assimilated into the centralized power Borg, they've compromised their souls. In America, the dependency mind-set is growing and metastasizing even as would a fatal cancer. And most all the immigrants we are getting-in, vote anti-Constitution. Liberty is a foreign concept to them -- they want to be anonymous, they've learned to hide. Instead of standing up for Liberty in their own countries, they simply ran away to America.

The USA is splitting. while in some states the gun restrictions are growing and the crime rates are climbing other states are passing castle laws and making the legal carry of handguns more and more possible. People are leaving California in mass as it is being turned over and into a Mexican socialist state. If you try to work there and live there the cost is insane. they tax you over and over to the point that you can have a job making what would be a living elsewhere and STILL end up basically homeless. If on the other hand, you are an illegal alien they bend over backward to GIVE you everything.

What makes me maddest is that they spend their money on stupidity and then become a beggar state wanting the states that didn't make the stupid decisions to bail them out so that they can continue down some sort of insane path to destruction. If they want all the illegal lazy aliens then we need to build a wall around their sanctuary cities and just start dumping the aliens there. sending them back to Mexico isn't working they are back almost before the ICE agents get home. The USA is becoming two countries with so little in common that I can't see how we can continue as one for much longer.

PS: I just opened my mail and got this in...My sister in law will crap!!!

What we're seeing isn't simply some dust-up. This nation is split. I've never seen anything like this. America saw this back in the 1850s. The 1860s didn't turn out so well did they! The 2020 election may just have the same result as the 1860 election.

If the wrong person were to win the 2020 election the union will dissolve just as it did when Lincoln was elected for all the same reasons. When the Federal Government takes away the rights of the states in defiance of the constitution that act dissolves the contract of faith and trust between the people and the states have with the Nation called the United STATES of America. If the liberals think that we will just lay down and hand over our guns and right to be a free and ARMED people they are horribly mistaken. The same people are also very unlikely to let a socialist government come in and tax us into poverty and slavery to the socialist state.

Look at the growing rage in Virginia.

The Brits are realizing that "New World Order" dictates are resulting in English cities turning into pits of savagery.
    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...quarter-victims-hospital-police-a9271286.html

Sweden is seeing the result of bringing savages into their country, a country of castrated serfs. Their unarmed people are sheep to the slaughter. Some psychotic collectivists are now saying that there's nothing wrong with doing away with borders, the immigrants simply need to be taught how to act more responsibly. How many centuries has that been tried without any success?!

Northam declares state of emergency, imposes temporary gun ban for Capitol Square ahead of large rally

Gov. Ralph Northam on Wednesday declared a state of emergency in Richmond ahead of a rally Monday that is expected to bring thousands of Second Amendment activists to Richmond.

The state of emergency will be enforced Friday evening to Tuesday evening. It includes a firearms ban on Capitol Square, as well as a general ban on weapons that includes bats and knives.

Northam cited safety threats “similar to what has been seen before other major events such as Charlottesville,” a reference to the deadly Unite the Right rally in August 2017 in which white nationalists clashed with counterprotesters and one woman was killed and more than 30 people were injured in a car attack.

“These are considered credible, serious threats by our law enforcement agencies,” Northam said, citing claims that “armed militia groups” plan on “storming our Capitol” and “weaponizing drones.”

Monday’s rally is being organized by the Virginia Citizens Defense League, which says it expects as many as 50,000 people to arrive on the steps of the Capitol to protest gun control legislation Democratic lawmakers are proposing.

VCDL President Philip Van Cleave said in an interview Wednesday that he has encouraged peaceful demonstrations by rally participants. At the same time, he said the group plans to challenge Northam’s decision, which he believes goes beyond the governor’s legal authority.

“We believe it is illegal what he is doing,” Van Cleave said. “At this point, we’re going to try to take the governor to court. So it may mean guns aren’t banned on Monday.”

“The rally is going on no matter what.”

Senate Republican leaders echoed similar concerns about Northam’s authority in a statement Wednesday, also arguing that his decision “may be serving to heighten rather than assuage tensions.”

“We are not confident Governor Northam is adhering to the limitations placed on the governor’s authority under the Code of Virginia,” Senate Minority Leader Tommy Norment, R-James City; Senate Republican Caucus Chairman Ryan McDougle, R-Hanover; and Senate Republican Caucus Co-Chairman Mark Obenshain, R-Rockingham, said in a joint statement.

Northam’s announcement follows a ban on firearms by House and Senate Democratic leaders inside the Capitol and the Pocahontas Building, where lawmakers conduct most of their business. Republican leaders opposed that move as well.

House Minority Leader Todd Gilbert, R-Shenandoah, didn’t oppose Northam’s ban outright, but said it might have unintended consequences.

“While we are grateful for the precautions taken by law enforcement, the governor’s actions will unfortunately impede the ability of people to exercise not only their Second Amendment rights, but their First Amendment rights as well,” he said in a statement.

Northam’s decision received the support of the ACLU of Virginia.

“The ACLU-VA believes that the governor, Capitol Police, and Virginia State Police are well within their existing statutory and constitutional authority to prohibit people participating in demonstrations on state property, including Capitol Square grounds, from carrying weapons,” Executive Director Claire Gastañaga said.

On Monday, law enforcement agencies will limit entry into Capitol Square to a single entrance at the intersection of Grace Street and North Ninth Street. Anyone entering will be subjected to a security check that will include metal detectors.

Those found with banned items will be turned away, law enforcement officials said.

Capitol Police Chief Steve Pike said his agency, Virginia State Police and the Richmond Police Department have established a “unified command” that will share law enforcement duties on Monday.

Pike said visitors to the Capitol should expect to see temporary fencing and other security measures throughout Capitol Square. They should also expect some road closures around the Capitol, including sections of East Main Street and North 9th Street.

“If on Monday you plan to visit your legislators for lobbying purposes, we ask that you be patient and expect lines at our access points,” Pike said.

Tensions around gun control in Virginia have been running high since Democrats took control of both legislative chambers, vowing to finally enact many of the gun control proposals that Republicans had rejected for decades.

More than 100 counties, cities and towns around the state have declared themselves “Second Amendment sanctuaries” at crowded public meetings where residents said they feared state officials would try to remove their guns.

Meanwhile, state law enforcement officials and the VCDL say “outside groups” with violent intent began to make plans to join in on the VCDL’s rally, an event that has gone on for years on the legislature’s traditional lobby day. It coincides with the holiday to honor Martin Luther King Jr. because many Virginians are off work and have the opportunity to petition lawmakers on a variety of causes.

As part of lobby day, advocates for gun violence prevention will hold their 28th annual vigil Monday at the Capitol. The group will meet with legislators and gather at the Bell Tower at 2 p.m. to remember victims of gun violence.

In an email to rally participants sent Tuesday, the VCDL encouraged peaceful demonstrations.

“We cannot stress enough that this is a peaceful day to address our legislature,” the email reads. “The eyes of the nation and the world are on Virginia and VCDL right now and we must show them that gun owners are not the problem. Lead by example.”

The group told protesters planning to go inside legislative buildings to leave their guns at home or in their hotels. But, it also encouraged unarmed protesters to travel with an armed “designated defender” that will wait outside the buildings for them.

The group has not yet updated its directive.

Notably, the National Rifle Association, which like the VCDL advocates broadly against gun control measures, distanced itself from Monday’s event. The group told its supporters to instead gather at the Capitol on Jan. 13 for a separate lobby day that resulted in a few hundred activists peacefully protesting outside a Senate committee hearing that took up four gun control proposals.

“The day passed without incident,” Northam said of the Jan. 13 event. “I thank the NRA for hosting a peaceful event. Now, I call on [VCDL] and its members to follow the NRA’s example, and make your event a peaceful display too, as you have done in the past.”

Northam added that he believed the VCDL “may have unleashed something much larger, something they may not be able to control.”

Van Cleave pushed back on Northam’s statement.

“Excuse me, the governor caused all of this stuff,” Van Cleave said. “This is on him, not on us. All of these people are stirred up because of what he is doing, trying to remove guns from law-abiding citizens.”

Virginia city official brings AR-15-style rifle to council meeting – triggering some colleagues
By Dom Calicchio | Fox News

Virginia's gun control battle heats up
Mark Levine, Democrat Virginia state representative, and Jason Roberge, Virginia congressional candidate, join the debate.

A city official in Virginia showed support for the Second Amendment earlier this week by bringing an AR-15-style semiautomatic rifle to a city council meeting.

The move by Portsmouth Councilman Nathan Clark came as the council was to consider making the city a “Second Amendment Constitutional City” – placing it in symbolic opposition to gun-control efforts underway in the newly Democrat-controlled state Assembly.

The proposal, debated before a capacity audience in the council chambers, passed 4-3, according to the Virginian-Pilot of Norfolk.

Clark’s gesture also came as the state prepares for a controversial gun-rights rally scheduled for Monday in Richmond, the state capital.

But he apparently angered at least two members of the council in Portsmouth, an Atlantic coast city about 97 miles from Richmond.

The council critics said Clark should have told them in advance that he planned to bring the weapon – and one of them asked Clark to apologize for not doing so.

“It was a disgrace, disheartening and an embarrassment,” Vice Mayor Lisa Lucas-Burke wrote to the council Thursday, according to the newspaper. “Most of us were blindsided by the display.” Lucas-Burke was among three council members who voted against the “Constitutional City” designation. The others were Councilman Shannon Glover and Mayor John Rowe. Glover had complained of being blindsided by Clark's gesture, the report said.

Another critic was Fred Guttenberg, father of one of the victims of the Parkland, Fla., high school shooting in February 2018, who accused Clark of “open intimidation” and called on him to resign.

Clark told Norfolk’s WTKR-TV that he was looking to make a point about gun rights.

“I had a lot of people come and talk to me after it,” Clark told the station. “No one appeared intimidated. There [were] police officers that were there. They were aware that I had it.”

Others on the council were supportive of Clark’s stand.

“I do not believe that Council(man) Clark needs to apologize for exercising his right as a law enforcement officer to carry his weapon to a public meeting,” Councilman Bill Moody wrote, according to the Virginian-Pilot. “I can appreciate liberals’ knee jerk reactions but if they have a problem with the law they should use the system they now control to change it.”

Clark himself did not respond to the newspaper’s request for a comment. But the paper reported that Clark had issued a press release announcing his plan to bring the weapon to the meeting.

Meanwhile, Virginia’s gun owners received some support from President Trump on Friday. The president claimed in a Twitter message that the Second Amendment was “under very serious attack” in the commonwealth.

“That’s what happens when you vote for Democrats,” Trump wrote, “they will take your guns away.”

Earlier this week, Virginia’s Democratic governor, Ralph Northam, declared a state of emergency and said he was temporarily banning individuals from carrying firearms and other weapons on Capitol grounds ahead of the rally for fear of a repeat of the violence law enforcement was ill-prepared to deal with at another rally in Charlottesville more than two years ago.

Pro-gun activists have challenged that order.

“The only anti-gun ppl you’ll see in Virginia on the 20th will be the government and they’ll have guns,” one Twitter user observed. “Think about that for a second.”

But a Richmond Circuit Court judge upheld Northam’s order, denying a lawsuit brought forth by the Virginia Citizens Defense League as well as Gunowners of America seeking an injunction against the Democratic governor's ban.

President Donald Trump finally weighs in.

Trump says Second Amendment is 'under very serious attack' in Virginia ahead of gun-rights rally

Virginia lawmakers ban guns from state Capitol
Democrats in the General Assembly voted to ban guns at the Capitol and a legislative office building, saying the move was needed to protect public safety; Rep. Steve Scalise reacts.

President Trump on Friday declared the Second Amendment is “under very serious attack” in Virginia amid a contentious gun debate in the commonwealth and ahead of a controversial gun-rights rally in Richmond on Monday.

“Your 2nd Amendment is under very serious attack in the Great Commonwealth of Virginia,” the president tweeted.

Thousands of gun-rights advocates are expected to attend a rally organized by the Virginia Citizens Defense League Monday.

Earlier this week, Gov. Ralph Northam, D-Va., declared a state of emergency and said he is temporarily banning individuals from carrying firearms and other weapons on Capitol grounds ahead of the rally for fear of a repeat of the violence law enforcement was ill-prepared to deal with at another rally in Charlottesville more than two years ago.

Pro-gun activists have challenged that order. But a Richmond Circuit Court judge upheld Northam’s order, denying a lawsuit brought forth by the Virginia Citizens Defense League as well as Gunowners of America seeking an injunction against the Democratic governor's ban.

Meanwhile, FBI agents on Thursday arrested a former Canadian armed forces reservist and two other men linked to a violent white-supremacist group, who were believed to be heading to the rally.

Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. It is also known as "Lobby day" in Virginia politics as advocates for a number of causes use the holiday to try and buttonhole lawmakers. It's also traditionally when pro-gun and gun-control advocates hold rallies.

NORTHAM'S VIRGINIA CAPITOL WEAPONS BAN UPHELD BY JUDGE AHEAD OF PRO-GUN RALLY

The rally comes as Virginia senators have been debating a package of gun-control bills.

The Democrat-led Senate advanced legislation limiting handgun purchases to once a month, requiring universal background checks on gun purchases, and allowing localities to ban guns in public buildings, parks and other areas. The measures largely passed along partisan lines and will now go to the House for consideration.

Democrats said they were reasonable measures that would improve public safety while respecting the rights of law-abiding gun owners. They said the public had made clear by voting for Democrats in recent elections that new gun laws were needed.

Republicans decried the legislation as an assault on the Second Amendment. They said the bill was aimed at appeasing special interest groups and donors such as Democratic presidential hopeful Michael Bloomberg. GOP senators said the new laws would entrap innocent people and do nothing to stop bad actors.

People who are aggressive in nature visit paramilitary sites where "us against them" and battle tactics are discussed. The total nut cases go to the bat-sh## crazy sites that we here at this site know little to nothing about.

Survivalists are more interested in accurate rifles that can consistently hit targets at distance so that interlopers are kept far away. Survivalists are on the defense, not the offense.

No offense people, but we survivalists are a bit uncaring about the sheeple and aggressors. We are more than kind'a selfish. We want to protect our families first and whatever happens to those who haven't prepared is of little concern to us. I keep up with politics because I want to be able to predict how to best prepare. If people go nuts, then I've got to really harden my home or simply get the hell out of Dodge. I'll move to states that enable my wants and needs.

This country is splitting-up. We are going to see people moving to the extremes politically, but we are also going to see people moving out of states where they feel like outsiders and move to states where they feel more comfortable. We are going to see America polarize by states. Urban vs. Rural, that polarization has been occurring for a good time now.

Survivalist types getting wrapped up in political violence, nope, wrong personality type.

Let the Feds waste their resources monitoring me and my lever-action "assault rifles".

The effect of this is far-reaching. Even places that are in no way affected by this madman's power play. Hell even in Texas where there is no threat to our gun ownership there are preventative actions being taken. The County where I live has declared itself to be a second amendment sanctuary. If the Feds think that we wouldn't go to war if they try to dissolve any part of our rights they are crazy stupid.

I hope that nobody does something stupid. All it would take is one nut or fanatic to light the fuse of a civil war. The sad thing is that if the shooting starts the people that may deserve to be shot will be safely hidden away and will send others whose only sin is to be loyal to their oath to do as ordered by their superiors. The Federal Government needs to step in and put a hold on these laws. They are in violation of our second amendment rights.

Most people don't seem to understand how our government is supposed to work. They think that we are ruled by the majority but that isn't true. The constitution and the bill of rights were carefully crafted to prevent the horrors of a pure Democracy where the majority rules. The minorities are a good example. Even though they are a tiny minor part of our population the majority is forbidden to vote in acts that would take away their rights. Even if the vote was 95% to 5% that has no ability to allow actions that violate the constitution. The constitution and the bill of rights are protection from our government becoming TOXIC. The Second Amendment tells you that the right to keep and bear arms was one of the most important concerns of our founding fathers. It was second only to our right to free speech and freedom both to religion and from it.

The liberal platform is based on removing these protections.
