I'm fortunate in some aspects of being alone. I don't eat a lot and as proven by my 3 month involuntary isolation, I have plenty of stores plus a fruitful garden.

    Good morning Sourdough,

I appreciated read that Zero Hedge link and had "relaxing" time reading the long comment by "Radical Marijuana".

While reading through the article and comments, was thinking of the early indicators and warnings such as:

Oswald Spengler's "The Decline of the West" 1918
USMC General Smedley Butler on his "enforcement techniques" discussed in his book.

A small example, in the global scheme of things, that's a favorite of mine involves the credit rating agencies. A couple of decades ago, Moody's rated Japan's sovereign debt - their bonds - with reduced invest grade quality. Japan's government financiers ordered Moody's to correct their mistakes or they would lose their business licenses to operate in Japan.

    Moody's made the "corrections".

Money, FOREX paper notes or metals, are really warehouse receipts to obtain goods and services. Holders of these warehouse receipts need an armed force to activate the transactions.

    ......

At least your new intercity travel ban will be good news for Greta Thunberg.

I haven't heard that the virus was mutating at all. In fact, quite the opposite with doctors saying that it was good that it wasn't.

My info verifies Old Geezer 's comment on the virus mutating . I don't try to keep up with it but my last account is it has mutated at least three times . This makes the job of finding a anti - vaccine difficult . Sort of like trying to hit a flying , darting bat with a load of shot from a shotgun .

A couple of informative articles regarding mutation:

    https://www.nationalgeographic.com/...n-track-its-spread-and-disprove-conspiracies/

    https://www.livescience.com/coronavirus-mutations.html

"Grubaugh published a commentary in the journal Nature Microbiology on Feb. 18. with the title "We shouldn't worry when a virus mutates during disease outbreaks."

The word mutation "naturally conjures fears of unexpected and freakish changes," he wrote. "In reality, mutations are a natural part of the virus life cycle and rarely impact outbreaks dramatically." RNA viruses, or those that have RNA as their main genetic material instead of DNA, including SARS-CoV-2, mutate constantly and do not have the mechanisms to fix these "mistakes," as human cells do, for example.

But most of these mutations negatively affect the virus. If mutations are not beneficial to the virus, they are typically eliminated through natural selection, the mechanism of evolution whereby organisms better adapted to their environment tend to survive. Other mutations survive and get embedded into the "average" genome of a virus."

I am really proud of our newest addition to our survival group . She flew into our tiny Ozark airport on what we call the crop duster to a place she had never been . There I picked her up and took her to my son's newly built log house . She told me yesterday she definitely ended up in the right place for this crises that has fallen upon the planet . The day before yesterday she was out catching fish , yesterday she was learning how to find and pick wild mushrooms . It is just good to see someone appreciate the life style they have found themselves . ------ This morning I am putting myself on half rations of coffee . I estimate by doing so my coffee supply will run out in about one to one and a half years .

The 25 countries that will be screwed by a world food crises -- A study done by Japanese research --- Venezuela , Vietnam ,Latvia , China , India , Ukraine , Bulgaria , Tunisia , Dominican Republic , Libya , Pakistan ,Kenya , Philippines , Romania , Angola ,Azerbaijan , Hong Kong , Sudan , Sri Lanka , Egypt , Lebanon Nigeria , Algeria , Morocco , Bangladesh . --- Desperate people and desperate countries do desperate things when they are starving . Wars have been fought before over food . They might not use them but note some of those countries have nukes . I couldn't understand a starving country wanting to contaminate the farming ground of their conquest by saturating it with radiation " but now an E.M.P. that is a different avenue " .

    Good afternoon Poltiregist,

It really depends on what the Japanese were studying and how word "screwed" is being used.

China, to include Hong Kong - it is on schedule to become part of the Pearl River Delta complex; HK, Guangzhu (Canton City) and Macao - will be in good shape. Food will be strictly rationed and some will perish. The historical record strongly establishes this.

I am a believer that Vietnam will eventually become a form of Chinese territory. Not sure how Philippines will fit into this expansion.

Egypt is finished. This country with half the Arab Muslim population, closes down if/when their Sisi government collapses. Anticipate the Suez Canal again closing. The Israelis will convert the Aswan High Dam into a talcum powder factory. Not sure how the Gaza Strip will be depopulated.

Yes ! a real probability for large warfare and besides EMT, the easier and less costly involves mosquitoes and baked bat on rye toast. I'm the one believing that the new combat uniform will be an armored HAZMAT suit.

Looking at the list of countries, I strongly doubt it's even credible research (not something you can take to the bank)

Not exactly. Vietnam is rather wild card. Their northern population tend to be pro China due to the cultural and economical ties. However as one venture southward its tend to gradually anti China. And this has nothing to do with NAM period it just culture & history at play (of which something you American always failed to understand). Their political conglomerate on the other hand is sternly anti China (at least at the moment), however just like anything else in politic such sentiment is subject to change.

Philippines is another wild card albeit far more timid than Vietnam. Their current administration is currently standing on the crossroad (for lack of better term). Whether they maintain strategic ties with US but NOT getting what they want or gradually shifting toward China and receiving the much needed FDI. The main reason for this is the western world under Berry Santoso has been hammering them hard in Human Right issues (War Against Drug) and China keep using it to increase their leverage. In general, their population doesn't really care about the shifting in geopolitics (why should they?) afterall China investors bring MONEY while the western side only talk big and NO MONEY to be seen. Their military circle on the other hand is still leaning toward US and western world, although China managed to gain some "sympathizer" within their upper echelon. mostly those who dealt with defense procurement.

In any case both Vietnam & Philippines are extremely UNLIKELY to be starving, same thing goes for Bangladesh, and Pakistan. All those countries are well capable to produce sufficient foods for their domestic consumption.

BTW Vietnam and Pakistan has been exporting rice for some time.

Such BDU would require mechanized exoskeleton for load bearing (doesn't need to be powered though)

    Good afternoon Varuna,

Is the Vietnamese population the criteria or is it the economic and military might of their northern - and eastern - neighbor ?

I didn't even address the US - Vietnam war. Some Americans understand the agreement for the US to take over the Vietnam headache so France could try to save Algeria. Allen Pope flew cargo missions to help out at Dien Bien Phu. The US did much to keep the French in the Atlantic alliance. They eventually left military NATO and never completely returned.

Did not the Philippines just forfeit strategic ties with the US ? Manila did shift toward China for the political safety concurrent with receiving FDI. The US is leaving WESTPAC (and also Afghanistan. I believe Afghan's largest political party is now CPC.)

It's a nominal matter that Pakistan exports rice. Karachi is a nuclear power and it will not be allowed to exercise this power. Recall where the Chinese port concession and pipeline routes of Gwadar are located. Vietnam also exports coffee. The southern periphery of mainland southeast Asia is destined to be Chinese territory in some form.

The new uniform has several prototype models. More important than the exoskelton are incorporated instruments for soldiers vital signs and target acquisition sensors. Even the fastest and most agile soldiers are slower than lasers and air burst of chemicals, biologicals and other stuff..

    ......

As an aside, don't forget China's "Unequal Treaty" in re the Sulu Arch !

Believe it or not, general public opinion do matter a lot even in communist country these days. Albeit it is not institutionalize or in the manner such as does with democratic system (nobody want peasant revolt even in medieval Europe)

It wasn't aim that at you, but more toward the general audience. Anyway at least France hardware are STANAG compatible, albeit not so much with weapon integration. They seem to deliberately lock everything to only use MBDA products . They can be modified to use Raytheon products as well but at really hefty price tag and just not worth it.

Only limited scope (Visiting Force Agreement) and its mostly for their domestic theatrical to appease for China FDI. US forces can always enter the fray quickly when needed and China also understand that fact. The most worrisome aspect is IF the Philippines slide completely to China side it will be extremely inconvenient for their immediate southern neighbour :( I seriously don't envy ChiCom bomber or missile with base anywhere within Philippines archipelago :(

My point is, they do not need to import foods because they have surplus capacity. The main reason for any country to import foods while they are capable to produce foods for domestic demand is either for price control, or part of a trade deal.

Laos & Cambodia is already China satellite states, and even in ASEAN meeting the diplomats won't hesitate in referring it as such. Myanmar will be next albeit it mostly due to the Western pressure that force them to realign toward China. Certain part of Malacca, Malaysia is already owned by China as part of "debt trap"

Here is the EXO. Its still need power though

The Guardian and the UN are both totally collectivist in nature. They are run by anti-God, pro-Secular-Humanist demons who chewed their way out of Satan's rear-end to come to Earth to spread eternal damnation. Calculate the number of unborn babies around the world who have been murdered by abortion, then multiply by ten. That's how many adults are going to die in the coming plagues. Covid-19 is one minor plague. Real plagues are to come. Nuclear exchanges during the many coming regional wars will annihilate many international cities -- L.A. and New York are goners. Then there is the matter of geophysical events such as earthquakes and tsunamis.

All those who are now standing prideful before God are going to have their knees bent backwards and their spines snapped. They will never witness the face of God, for outer darkness will be their abode. What is soon going to appear across our planet is something called Humility.

The arrogant elitists, such as the anti-Christ MSM executives and the UN would-be-gods have flipped God "the bird". We are going to witness The Reply.

The Coronaviruses are nothing new. That is why it is called number 19. A mutation isn't always a bad thing. When things mutate they are more likely to become weaker than stronger. This is one of the reasons why epidemics tend to peter out and then almost disappear.

    Good morning Varuna,

Basically - again, the basics - our views are similar.

I do recommend you review "general public opinion". Public opinion is molded and managed in the First World, the Second World and the Third World. Most of the population of Cuba would relocate to Toronto, New York City and Miami if public opinion had much value.

French STANAG hardware is not important. France never returned to the NATO Nuclear Planning Group. This is what is important.

Would France even contemplate a confrontation with SCO members ?

China does not distribute funds nor participate in projects with weak foundations. They use "secured transactions". The Republic of the Philippines is leaving the US alliance concurrent with the US leaving WESTPAC. Recall who is the US creditor.

The NWO keeps the Philippines southern neighbor safe, relatively speaking, because economic development will eclipse military confrontations. (Less those who use Islam for political gain.)

Pakistan is in decay and on schedule for the entire place to resemble their Federally Administered Tribal Areas. The pipelines will get protection...and the pipelines connect Iran and China. Can we guess that there is US acquiescence to this ?

My personal opinion only; Malaysia will lose Sabah and Salawak. They will become Indonesian territory.

    The EXO:

"The future battlefield is becoming empty. If you are there you are destroyed. The only options are stealth or autonomous systems." Col Ehud Gal, IDF Ministry of Defense, DEFENSE NEWS, August, 2004.

Mao's fish in the river guerrilla doctrine is in the forefront. The Israelis learned this and adopted. The Americans are both slow learners and the Defense contractors like their rice bowls overflowing with $$$. This, too, shall pass.

I'm watching Japan close down. They'd rather have FOREX than babies and soon enough won't have either of them.

I see a looter's holiday on the morrow. The only people who'll be face down on the concrete with their hands cuffed behind their back will be those who attempt to fight back against the hordes of aggressive trash people. Anyone shooting fire-bombers will go to jail.

A grain mill lets me make use of dry corn. You can grind it immedialty or make it into hominy and then dry and grinds the hominy. .[/QUOTE]
Same tactic here .Mainly for those just joining , looking for a quick way to help them live longer in the potential food supply collapse . They may want to think about corn . A 50 # bag of shelled corn can be bought at the feed store for $ 6.70 . That folks is 50 lbs. of corn bread for less than $7.00 . That would feed some families for around a month or a year's supply for around $ 100.00 . Hopefully someone 's diet would have something besides that in it but corn has been a staple for some societies for many centuries .

I recently watched a short video on this topic on " the common sense show ". I and David Hodges agree with the surmises that many globally and the Democrat party here in the U.S. are drooling over the dream of using this crises as a path into One World Order . First step after global financial collapse is seen as going to a global crypto currency . That way they can track every purchase its subjects make .

    I agree,
the virus is real and people are dying , but in my opinion , it's not much more of a health threat than any other major epidemic that we've had to contend with before.
The REAL threat is the weaponization of the virus. This program is allowing the "powers that be" to destroy the world economy and gain solid control of the masses by creating pandemonium.
Graciously, even willingly, we the people hand over our wealth and Individual Freedom to the unseen masters in exchange for perceived peace and safety.

    Patrick Henry would be mortified...

I avoid thinking about this "New World Order" or "One World Order" it just seems like a total waste of valuable time to even pay the slightest attention to it. Is it a real effort by some to implement this......Damn sure is. Is there anything I or anyone else can do, other then verbal masturbating about the fear of more oppression.......I don't think so.

I am in my mid 70's and I have been hearing people (including me) jabber endlessly about the NWO for well over 60 years. Will they pull it off.......likely they will, but my time, and others time is best spent prepping for all one hundred million shit hit the fan nightmare possible events.

I am not judging it........I simply am obsessed with being prepared. I find it kind'a sad and disappointing that people are wasting valuable time that could and should be invested in prepping wide'ass open full throttle for their survival, and the survival of those who are counting on them to protect and provide for their wellbeing.

Yes, I believe this upcoming World Power is relentlessly going to obtain it's goals, regardless of what I do or not do.
Of course I understand that my thoughts and discussion on the matter is largely to the choir on this board.
I do prep as " wide open " as I can, my talking about it, in subtle ways to the uninformed, is essentially to warn them that things are changing and that they should prep as well as they can...

    Good morning Sourdough,

Some of us here are using different definitions for the same terms/expressions like "New World Order". I use NWO as a term from the field of political geography / geopolitics.......and I've adjusted my preparedness efforts accordingly.

The NWO, as the term is used by some (includes me), has changed more than once over the last 6 decades and we've modified our prep efforts to accommodate these changes. The US citizenry transferred $ 7 trillion to the Arab oil barons. This stopped when Kissinger developed a financial market to close down OPEC and indirectly encourage "fracking" in the US. Some Preppers adjusted to this oil matter.

Who would have dreamed that Boeing would have wide body civil aircraft sub assemblies manufactured in China ?! Some of us older Preppers discussed this with our extended families as to involvement in this.

My extensive and - near completion / non-finalized - prepping is stalled by roadblocks (tank traps ?!) precluding the fielding of a medical clinic with the RX pharma. This envisioned field clinic would be staffed by an M.D., D.D.S. and R.N. It cannot happen here because of the NWO domestic road blocks.

For pending "NWO" matters, I can envision a US use of "Janissaries", single young men for military service never to have any family, immediate and extended, outside of this community of soldiers/sailors. How the Hades can a submarine and a bunker like Cheyenne Mountain be operated without a disease-free military labor force ?

    A tangent to above;

Different definitions are being commingled around the same words, terms, phrases here at the Forum. For example, San Francisco is one of our country's largest urban areas. Yet, San Francisco Bay is larger than the state of Rhode Island. I live in a rural county next to the Chesapeake Bay. It's rural here but not like your place that both rural and frontier. We have the COVID-19 disease here in the county because this rural county is also a corridor connecting Navy Norfolk and Washington, D.C.

Still, even with the figurative tank traps, we've got a rudimentary dental clinic and a semi-sterile area, less the WD-40 residue on the 2 sturdy tables.

I don't buy into the whole NWO bullcrap conspiracy nonsense. But it may seem like it will be here in the future due to the way humans operate, etc. I mean, one day we may colonize Mars if we figure out how to teraform the planet (that means giving a planet oxygen). And if and when that happens I'm sure the currency we know now will have evolved. And I'm damn sure of it. As of now already I don't hardly ever carry cash. I use my debt card. A swipe here a swipe there, everywhere a swipe. And I'm now glad to see pop machines have card readers. I stopped carrying cash and coins when I was about 25 or so. Now the bad part of course with a cashless society is that every purchase you make is recorded. You can't help that. But that's the way society is anymore and how we've become. Not due to some cabinet meeting from some NWO goons or some crap, but due to industry and marketing evolution.

Now a days you have something called cryptocurrency and I have used it for things like paying for my VPN, etc. A cryptocurrency called Monero is waaaay more secure and private than Bitcoin and it is Monero I use to pay for real sensitive crap I don't want anyone to know where I bought it from. Now in China they have their own government made cryptocurrency bullcrap and a Facebook-like social media App used to purchase things. This whole new system of buying things is in fact NWO controlled to the max and is like that evil credit score on steroids.

Fun fact: Visa is just a multinational financial services corporation. They don't issue cards, a bank does. They just process the transactions. And I've read they have some of the most secure data centers on planet earth. Were talking major redundancy with Internet connections and power, etc. They have to be since they process thousands of transactions everyday.

Vigilance is high here , Strangers were seen riding down our dead end road yesterday . That statement may seem odd to some but we do live that isolated as to take note of such things . My 16 year old grand son joined me on spending the night outside on guard duty last night . I was pleased to find out like me had a variety of weapons to choose from but choose for a night time fire fight a shotgun . A Deputy Sheriff also joined us for the night . He was positioned where he could seal off any one entering the dead end road . I was hoping he would let them enter and let me or my grandson take care of the looters , but suspect he would simply stop them and have all the fun for himself. My grandson and I had meet the deputy a couple of weeks back and found out he had spent two tours in Iraq . I didn't even want my attack dog because I was in the mood for some personal interaction , but against my wishes my wife let the dog out for the night anyway . The deputy was driving a k-9 unit vehicle but I don't know if he had his dog or not . I am enjoying this teotwawki stuff . I feel in my proper element .

    Good morning Old Geezer,

    Just read the link.

Is the 600% surge because of the need for the food or because it's free ?

I take note that c antelopes are distributed.

It is possible to conform / enforce social distancing in grocery stores.

IMPORTANT: [ *** !] " as there is no .. mechanism to efficiently distribute the excess produce to those in need".

Yes, immediately give food to the children and unemployed without bureaucratic proof of being laid off work (during the emergency). Yet, at some time in near future, some of those still-working municipal workers must be replaced with - or retrained, if capable - to prepare mechanisms to efficiently distribute the excess produce to those in need. Other countries do this already.

We've got these same food banks here. I will not deal with the VOADS.

Yes, it looks like orange juice distributed in Sunrise, Florida. The box has printed "Morristown, N.J."

Article does not mention laid-off farmers or additional laid-off municipal workers. .... nor an expanded SNAP/food stamp program getting activated.

Interesting letters. I like the one with "America has the richest 'poor' in the world".

Revelations from a food distributor - Warehouses at less than 50% capacity . One reason restaurants shutting down . Now people instead of simply running to restaurants are having to prepare their own meals . That means to the distributor the food is not packaged correctly for grocery stores . This conversion to repackaging takes time and is not readily available . Truck shipments to grocery stores are sometimes canceled altogether or sent out partially loaded . Food riots expected . This info can be found on " The Common Sense Show " . ---------- Another shoe to drop - this info from two different sources one being on the same video as the above information . Garden seeds in short supply and may already be not available for some . This due to the food shortages , desperate distributors are using garden supplies to introduce into the food chain . I hope you guys have your seeds " especially heirloom seeds " .

Over here, restaurants have closed due to social distancing. There's simply no punters to visit them. You're not allowed to go to restaurants, cinemas, or anywhere else for that matter in groups.

NOT going to happen at least until 22nd century. Terraforming require the presence of a stable atmosphere to hold the air, while Mars only have negligible tectonic activity, thus doesn't have magnetosphere to protect the planet atmosphere from solar wind. And without stable and sufficient atmospheric pressure liquid water will be vaporize.

Crikey. I don't know what to say. I've never seen anything like it. Fancy queuing up for hours and hours for a few groceries. I'm shocked and stunned. Just out of interest, how much is petrol in the US? I wonder how far these people have really travelled to get free food and how much fuel they used.

I am further educated. I now know the word "crikey".

Forget the cars more expensive than I can afford. Forget the petrol (see I can use British slang). What's amazing is that the folk are loading their nice cars wearing $150 tennis shoes. No food in the fridge, no canned goods in the pantry, but off we go in a Lexus wearing Nike tennis shoes to get some free food.

    How special.

Hadn't read this thread before. A little to doom and gloom for me. We have survived worse as long as we control our politicians, it will all be good.

Don't be lulled into thinking the supply chain is just fine " we are just being proper and just social distancing " . My son stopped at a seafood restaurant yesterday " long John Silvers " - they were open but were out of food , no fish , no chicken , no batter to cook it in , all they had was hamburgers and that was because they had that in storage as normally few people bought that . They hadn't seen a supply truck in weeks . This was in a state that restaurants have not been ordered to close but it appears the big secret is they have to because " the supply trucks aren't delivering " .

all restaurants over here are closed, they can do takeaways but not sit down meals.
there is plenty of food in the supermarkets and the panic buying has subsided.

I always like looking on the dark side to plan my prepping . That is why I am now looking forward to teotwawki " because I prepared for the worst imaginable scenario " while others I have noticed or grasping at the optimistic and simply made up forecasts as to the planets future . Yes turn to the dark side .

unlike us most people are totally unprepared for TEOTWAWKI and will suffer accordingly, unfair but true.

I believe my sarcasm doesn't always come across the right way. For myself, this is what I prep for, so I don't have to worry. I'm actually enjoying staying at home. Getting to paint and sculpt more than I have in several years. Soon I'll be turkey hunting and fishing with no tourist in the areas to spook the birds or trout.

I'm pretty sure (not tested) that me and my family already had the virus after flying home from Honolulu. It sucked but wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Had the high fever, major body aches, coughing and sneezing but hadn't heard enough about the virus at the time to go get checked. There was 1000's of Chinese nationals in the airport when we flew with several having major coughing spells. My county only has 1 diagnosed case at the moment but this is the middle of no where West Virginia.
