I don't understand your post. The article refers to the need for social distancing in order to save lives:

"It's very selfish," he told the Today programme. "The NHS is doing everything it can and preparing for the spread of this virus.

"If people go within two metres of others who they don't live with then they're helping to spread the virus - and the consequences of that costs lives and it means that, for everyone, this will go on for longer."

      What do you mean?

its NOT social distancing that is selfish and costing lives.
home in ones own household is the safest place to be at the moment.

In my opinion......the safest place right now, is hiding in a strategic well thought'out location where you can carefully observe your home.

don't know about Alaska, in the UK staying in ones own home and household is the safest place to be, and under the rules is where we should be most of the time whilst the lockdown is in force.

It appears the British PM never observed the social distancing that he was talking about. He's now in the ICU due to COVID-19 crap. I hope he pulls out of it though. I hope EVERYONE pulls out of it. I hate this crap and just want life to go back to normal. I want to turn the news on when I eat dinner every night and just watch the political bickering and enjoy yelling at my TV. Now instead of yelling at my TV, I find myself wiping away a tear. It F&ing sucks!

The new year came and then in an instant the world changed over night. Many people, even the young had no idea they'd be losing their lives to this crap. And you know why? Because f&ing China isn't controlling their wet markets! Nether is Thailand, Indonesia, Burma, etc. For what ever good the UN is, this should be front and center seen as how this is more than likely where this damn pandemic came from. But since the WHO was helping China cover up their bullcrap, and the UN is a scum sucking organization, it'll never happen.

Perhaps the ensuing international Chinese lawsuits will change that? One can only hope.

When my sister was infected, who's on oxygen now at home, her fiance is going to sue the crap out of the nursing home she works at for workmens comp, etc. My sister now has a pile of hospital bills, went to two hospitals and had an ambulance ride. Now she's gonna have to pay for oxygen and soon an oxygen concentrator.

If I could only topple China's communist government I would. Ain't the 1st amendment wonderful?

That really, really sucks. I'm so sorry your sister has gone through this, as all the other people in the US. Do you mean to tell me that she has to pay for hospital bills and oxygen? Man, that is so bad. I can imagine there are a lot of people in the US who can't afford it. What happens to them? That's just wrong.

Blitz: It is equally as bad here. For the general population Easter has been cancelled. Churches are doing services on line or through social media, but most states will not allow that many people to congregate in public. Very sad day.

people are still going long distances, someone got stopped on the motorway heading from London down to the westcountry, Cops stopped them and turned them around, and their not the only ones.
people like that wont be happy until half the country is dead with this virus.
long journeys are NOT allowed at this time.
Cornwall is closed to Tourists, Dartmoor is closed.
STAY HOME, SAVE THE NHS, SAVE LIVES, just how hard is it to understand?? MORONS.

Very sad indeed. I don't think it's going to change in the foreseeable future, either. We have ANZAC Day coming up on 25 April. All the usual ceremonies have been cancelled. That's going to be an even sadder day.

    I reckon I am "Selfish."

Social distancing is mostly the norm for me as I am not the social butterfly type.

The fewer people around the more comfortable I feel.

Less traffic makes me happy....same with crowded parking ..I don't like that as well.

If they are open in the middle of the night is when I like to go to certain stores to shop.

Not much for holidays as well...often too crowded...birthdays ...too.

Where a lot of people are to be found...I am often going the other way.

Just not the social butterfly type...
