NoExcuses welcome to the forum . I wouldn't spend my money on it . Eating cold food out of a can I have done thousands of times . When eating cold food I always liked to stay away from cans of food that has a lot of greasy fat in it . Frankly though my personal opinion on this , if you are living in an urban area you are screwed to start with . With the global collapse coming a lot of rural property may be coming onto the market . Save your money and start narrowing down where you would want a survival retreat . At interest now close to 0 and a down payment on property around 10 % the time to pounce may be here . ---- I see you have just joined within the last few hours . If you would go to the introduction tab and give a general but not too specific info on yourself it would help other members have a better understanding as to where your thoughts are on survival / prepping .

Very good advice, both the introduction and relocating.

I can't tell you the amount of times we've heated food under the bonnet. That necessitates having a vehicle of course. But it works when you're in the bush and want something quickly heated up. Also great for cooking. Just wrap food in foil and put under bonnet on hot part of engine (like the top of the radiator or where the valley is. Works a treat.
