What should we expect from law enforcement after a major SHTF event?

    Welcome to this forum.

Please elaborate on your vision of "Major"........???

As in........their family and those they dearly loved and cherished are not in any danger.......???

Or as in their loved ones are in extreme danger from the SHTF event.......???

Those who can pay-off the cops will be the ones who will get their protection.

At least the ones whose families are non-existent or protected by others. Once upon a time, my physician and another physician I knew very well headed to Florida to take care of first responder families post hurricane whichever. This greatly reduced the anxieties of the police, fire, and EMS folk in uniform.

NOT speaking for everyone on this forum.......but in a major SHTF event, most members here are not expecting any help from any government department or agency.

This is too wide open to too many variables. As Sourdough said it depends on how major an event is, what it involves, is it a large scale SHTF event as in country or world wide. Obviously some areas deemed important will have higher levels of law enforcement. The rest of us not near such areas will probably see almost nothing. In my case I sincerely doubt the RCMP is going to come out to the middle of nowhere Nova Scotia to save this tiny town and even less so us living far outside of it.

You no doubt live among folk who are able to take care of themselves.

The one crazy you had up there recently could have been taken-out by the locals. Where I'm from, a shooter would get shot in no time flat. I've had friends who would have killed that crazy simply for sport. Killing can be fun, after all.

Look, I found all of these links on vegetable gardening in Nova Scotia.
    https://duckduckgo.com/?q=nova+scotia+vegetable+gardening&atb=v140-1&ia=web

    Nova Scotia hunting:

    https://novascotia.ca/natr/forestry/

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agriculture_in_Nova_Scotia

And Nova Scotia doesn't have herds of scummy inferior people.

You're living in God's country, Rebecca. You guys don't need anyone to come to your rescue.

we don't have enough Police in the UK to protect everyone in a major collapse of society, they would probably consolidate their forces into one or two of the larger cities (London and Birmingham for instance), the rest of the country would have to fend for itself.
we hardly ever see Police in my rural neck of the woods in normal times as the crime rate here is almost non existent.

That's good. Cops swarm like fire ants. Felons can just disappear, especially if the heat isn't anywhere around. I've had kin who "assisted" the sheriff's department.

In a major SHTF event, Police(and Troops) will go home and take care of their families first, that's only human nature, only after that they MAY report for duty, but if its a financial disaster and they aren't being paid then probably not.

in a major SHTF I expect law enforcement to get what they can from wherever they can. They may band together and become a new "governing" body for the common good of themselves.

I would consider Covid 19 an SHTF event, and we can all see how Law Enforcement reacted.

There is some dissention in the ranks; people who don't agree with the policies, but for the most part they (local LEO's) obey the orders as they are given. I for one find it far more troubling when they (LEO's) are ordered to stand down, and watch crimes being committed i.e. ANTIFA rallies, and they do. But there again, they are following orders.

Maybe you are referring to a complete societal collapse (WROL), and there isn't any authority to give orders. If that were the case I would expect them to stay home and take care of their families.

in the UK during Covid- 19 Police forces were more interested in fining people who refused to obey the social distancing rules or were out where they weren't supposed to be, crime seemed to take a back seat and was to a certain amount much less than it was before the pandemic, maybe even the criminals were obeying lockdown?
there was very little Police activity in my rural area and certainly no roadblocks or anything of that nature, we very rarely see Police here anyway.
The South West of England has had the least number of infections of the whole country, and that's official.

In some urban areas in the USA, things will go Mad Max. Maybe in a precious few rural areas, also. But unlike that which is shown in movies, the duration will be short. Unsuccessful survival methodologies result in people running out of energy ... literally. Even "tough guys" start weakening after not very long at all if their water supply is contaminated and they have been eating a canned diet. Consider this, poor diet and poor hygiene = sickness. Sickness = low energy.

History shows that people used to having food and fresh water brought to them go lethargic when grand misfortune visits their area. And we're talking about the ones who live.

People in rural areas will pack together -- but throw in a several cups of mistrust. Some churches (certainly not all) will become hubs of unity and work together to do tasks difficult for individuals. In the SouthEastern USA (not counting lower Florida and large urban areas) church groups, big families, and other groups with mutual interests will arm-up and form defensive units.

Southern culture still exists. The Scots-Irish form clans -- they just do; I think it is genetic. Leaderships will form and they will not all be so very nice. Power structures will enlist the help of combat veterans (such as was the case with one of my uncles who would "help-out" with "things"; we're talking over a half-century ago, yet this behavioral pattern is part of human nature; "civilized" aggressors are needed). And really know this, there will exist a total mistrust of outsiders. Welcome mats will be burned for fuel. Many will survive within this sort of structure, but it ain't gonna be fun. When a bunch of folk get into varying forms of "alternate psychology", I sneak off to the corners. I've been around people "having fun" and I've usually tried to find the nearest exit.

What I have described about the SouthEast is also true of several regions in the USA. There will be very noticeable cultural variations, however the Heartland-factor, the "git-r-done" factor will kick-in -- especially where people's skill sets mesh to form self-sufficiency. Where these skills and unifying factors do not exist, there will be a devolution into chaos.

That's the situation I was wondering. Do you think they will band together and basically creat their own law ? Another thought, how long would most LEO stay subordinate to their command before walking away and assimilating with their neighbors? Just curious thoughts.

Each area in the UK has separate Police forces. for example Devon and Cornwall, in a large hostile event some officers could be seconded to the danger area like we had years ago with the "London riots" but in a major nationwide event they will be too busy looking after their own "patch", and this itself will be limited action as the police forces of each area are much less in number than they were say 10 years ago, police numbers have been dropping year on year.

I think groups of people will band together and become tribes so to speak. Chances are perfect strangers will not band together, it will be people that have a bond already. There will be some that want to be in control. This can be seen in a kindergarten class, there is always a few kids that wants to run the show. Later on some of them become politicians or some such. Of course because they ae running things for the common good they deserve a very generous cut of the goodies off the top.

Back to the police, they are use to maintaining order, they work together, most folks have respect for the police. They will see a opportunity to come together to protect their families. I doubt there will be many loners, most people will band together based on some kind of previous bond. no man is a island.

In fact banishment from a tribe was a death sentence.

I don't really know how people will react, I'm basing my opinion on history. maybe human nature has changed.

maybe later on as things calm down there will be some sort of coming together, probably based on some local tribal type connection, but not at the beginning of SHTF, then it will be every person for themselves.
don't discount loners-many people will be alone to begin with after the initial event, many like myself will continue to do so, others will want to team up with people they knew before the event, don't go trusting strangers, that will be fatal after a major event as there will be plenty taking advantage of others, so watch your back.
as far as Police are concerned I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them.

    Good morning all,

In this area, this eastern corridor of Virginia, it's a little different of an arrangement.

Jurisdictions here have overlapping law enforcement agencies with some agreements of what org handles what emergency. For example, the Virginia State Police blanket the state (with some modifications in the Northern Virginia Autonomous Oblast). Also throughout the state of police departments or Sheriff's Offices. Some jurisdictions have both Sheriff's Offices and police departments. Some Virginia Sheriffs are on public record saying they will not enforce the Governors mandatory quarantine orders that the Sheriff deems unlawful.

In Washington, D.C, there are 2 police departments - along with the numerous Federal LE agencies with authority to operate throughout the area. The National Capitol Police patrols the Capitol, Congress, Fed buildings and housing areas of their employees. After D.C. received "home rule" they set up their own police department. There were some scandals such as hiring paroled felons with records involving violent crimes.

    It is a mess.

I do not know what will happen re SHTF but can guess.

Currently Law Enforcement is the "Largest" GANG (or Brotherhood) operating in America. They are vigorously trained to "ALWAYS" control the environment they are acting with-in.

In a widespread SHTF environment, I expect they will be the Alpha "GANG" operating in any given area. Sometimes for "Good" and sometimes for "Not Good".

The highest court, has ruled it is NOT their duty or job to protect members of the public. Zero reason to expect that to change post SHTF. They will be vastly better armed and equipped then all of the other "GANGS" even if all the other gangs formed a nation wide union. My expectation is they would over time morph into quasi-Warlord configuration. At which point they would likely recruit and employ many ex-military personnel who would likely be wise to join.

For the rest of us........life would continue to "Suck" and we would pay the new rulers as we reluctantly pay current rulers. With the main difference being no court system to challenge the Gangs decisions.

For most if not all of human existence things are controlled with force. Might makes right. Tough shit if you don't like it. This is a wonderful time in the history of mankind to be an old person who has enjoyed the gift of spending one's life in America, while America was more or less the best place for peasants to have lived.

I see zero reason to expect the quality of life in America to do anything but spiral down, at an ever accelerating speed.

Unless you are very dimwitted, it should be vividly clear that the coming years, and likely coming decades in America will be horrific beyond current comprehension.

My continued best advise.........find a place to hide, as far from other humans as possible, have everything you will ever need, including a very small group of people you trust with your life, and the lives of those you cherish and love.

I don't know about anywhere else but in the UK Police will control-or attempt to control- the big cities, after all that is where 80% of the British population now lives, and will probably confine themselves to one or two of the largest cities, they aren't going to be bothered about us yokels out in the sticks, most police forces are urban anyway.
I agree get as far as you can from any other humans, certainly get away from the large urban centres, do it NOW don't wait until SHTF actually happens, that is too late.
of course this all depends on what the event is and the survival (or not) rate of the Police and the general public.

There is all differnt types of Sh#%, log shaped, runny, pellet shaped, exc. the point is there is a battle plan for each event.for police. against nature they are there to help... when its political they get ugly. I was there in the UN riot in Toronto many years ago. and the Panama riot 9 years ago. When the batons come out and the shields. They are only there own friend. When the shields come out GET THE HE^^ OUT., Next if they ask for Military You are F for real, That is martial law. Then its you against them. Thats when the real bug out applies. The idea is two know the stages, what to look for. It takes 4 hours to make martial law work in a state. 2 in a city. But Pray that never happens cause that means Amen to the constitution.
Hay but doesnt any one want to know how to generate power, make fuel, Run your Furnace when the power goes out. Perhaps how to get water if the city water supply fails. Perhaps even how to protect against an EMP ,a blast or a solar storm.

    Good morning Overwatch,

Please do not consider this post as hostile. It is not. I am only respectfully refuting the material you posted above.

You are not describing the US law enforcement arrangements as of today's era. There is no 4 hour window for state martial law nor 2 hour time span for cities in re martial law.

Martial law is not used. There were reasons for this but not applicable to this thread.

The Civil Defense Act of 1950 was replaced by the Stafford Act of 1988 and modified by the Patriot Act with some additional modifications.

"Bug out" can be limited to a time frame where travel restrictions are not yet activated. A private citizen, unless experienced , with contacts, cannot determine the stages of activated plans.

Actual military units will still be controlled by the civil authorities. There is overlap such as the USCG being both military and law enforcement. So, too, Civil Reserve Air Fleet, and various NGOs.

I've participated in events involving all the laws and types of organizations mentioned above. I am still subject to activation. Was recently told that even though over 60 years old, they expect me back. I don't know how to say it with a Canadian accent but here in Southernese,it's called "scrapping the bottom of the barrel".

Several Forum Members know how to get water and know about police protection arrangements.

I see London rioting returning to your country in the not too distant future. Good you are in Devon.

Trying to impose martial law is going to take a while in cities. In Heartland regions of America, troopers or troops stand to get pick-off by unhappy people with high-power scoped rifles.

In an area of Appalachia where I'm from, organized crime was dumping toxic (mostly medical) waste in a landfill. Local deer hunters began shooting dead the engines of these trucks while Yankee drivers were in transit to the landfill. I've a couple of stories about sheriffs being taken out -- and I'm not talking about being voted out of office.

In Virginia, over 90 county sheriffs told governor Blackface (Northam) where to stick his "assault rifle" laws. The overwhelming majority of Virginia is willing to go ballistic on this issue ... and I do mean ballistic. Police, ex-military, and good'ol'boys will ignore the law ... and more.

London has a population of 8.6 Million, many of them non British born.
I think if anywhere kicks off it will be in London, that's why any law enforcement in a SHTF situation is going to be concentrated there, its also the British Governments "power base" and where all law making is done.
Devon is so far removed from the seat of government and is a predominately agricultural region, it can take 7 hours to drive from London to the Devon/Cornwall border, in the height of the tourist season that same journey could take 10 hours, that's a long journey from a British point of view. that's why most people take foreign holidays!

Seven to ten hours, gee golly gosh. The M3 / A303 (?) London to Exeter, I read is 175 miles / 282 klicks. I also read that the A303 is a toll road. But 7 - 10 hours! Yep, that is shocking to an American. Eight hours of driving at 75 mi/hr (120k/hr), gets one 600 miles (965 k). Most Americans push 80mi/hr (128k/hr) on interstate hwys, especially if there is little traffic and few entrances and exits. Me I try to keep travel down to 450 mi/day by car (725k).

There are places in Texas where the speed limits are 85 mph and it is 75 mph in most places on the interstate and in rural areas. We consider 1oo miles as a shopping trip.

London to Plymouth(Cornish Border- River Tamar) is 240 miles. on a good day that is a 5 hour journey, sometimes 7 hours, (add on "comfort" breaks) but in the middle of summer with heavy tourist traffic-caravans/trailers and boat trailers there will be long tailbacks and 10 hours is not unusual.
that's if there isn't a RTA-road traffic accident, if there is Police will shut the road and people will be stuck in a queue going nowhere for anything from 2 hours up to 6, 8 hours or more.
if someone is travelling on into Cornwall say Penzance or Truro you can add another couple of hours. The (River)Tamar bridge is a toll bridge.
the A303 is NOT a toll road, a part of the M6 is a toll road.
that of course is travelling to SOUTH Devon, North Devon by contrast is narrow rural lanes and farm roads, back country byways. the Motorways STOP at Exeter.

    Banning menthol cigarettes in England

    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/20...prohibition-thanks-eu-ban-menthol-cigarettes/

The above article says that a ban on tobacco could be coming for Euroblob and England. Now there's you a rioting excuse. People gotta have their smokes.

I'd LOVE to see cigarettes banned in England! Talk about rebellion! Men will let you go out on a date with their wives before giving up smoking. How ARROGANT can be the collectivist do-gooders! Printing money into hyperinflation, the sheeple do not understand that hyperinflation is on its way, nor even know what it means (they'll know in the next couple of years, however). People DO understand somebody telling them that they can't smoke.

In the USA, menthol cigarettes are the most popular cigarettes with African-Americans (90% smoke Kool and Newport menthol cigarettes; I looked this up again). So, there'll be no banning of menthol cigarettes in America, unless state governments decide they enjoy dealing with riots.

I used to stock the cigarette machines when a kid. My dad only ran gambling machines, juke boxes, and coin-operated pool tables, but his friends used to run cigarette machines in addition to gambling machines. When a teenager after my dad died, I worked for a fella who had dozens and dozens of cigarette machines (he had more cigarette machines than gambling machines; I had to stock a couple of machines he had in a whorehouse in the black section of town). So in addition to counting the gambling money, I stocked the cigarette machines. I could tell you who lived where based on the cigarette brands we stocked in the machines. The guys put taxed/legal cigarettes in their machines, but all the guys smuggled cigarettes. When I was a little boy I'd go with my dad on the cigarette runs -- the trunk would be packed with cases of cigarettes (not just cartons, no no no). I knew one fellow (a grand total of one) who stocked illegal cigarettes at one of his two bars -- I think maybe more reefer was sold there than tobacco. I frequented this place when underage; my female friend (only friends, honest) got me in because she was sleeping with at least one of the bouncers (the bouncers at this place were bad news, nice, but ...).

You can pay off the local cops, however you can't pay off state nor federal revenue agents. Money is money -- people draw blood over protection money (governments run the nastiest protection rackets; goodfellows just want your money, governments demand submission of the soul).

Sometimes if one is mega-power-hungry, it catches up with them. Gov. Ray Blanton of Tennessee ended up in a federal penitentiary. I hated it when a friend(s) of my dad's went away. However this Blanton, I was ever too aware of his goings-on. One instance involved two people lying dead and a son of a connection doing little time and easy time at that. Blanton was nasty. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Blanton

I really don't know why anyone smokes any more knowing the damage they do, I have seen a photo of a smokers damaged lungs and it will put anyone off smoking for life.
and yes, I was a smoker, until 1995.

I !!LUV!! the smell of tobacco and burning tobacco. Wish I had a lit Dunhill betwixt me fingers right now (yep, I acquired a taste for British cigarettes; I love British Enfield rifles also; maybe in a former life ...; my father thought well of the place, was treated as a welcome guest always). I quit all tobacco products almost two decades ago due to my developing an annoying smoker's cough. Such "friends", one must write-off. "You've become a bit of a bother, Ciggy."

    Good afternoon Lonewolf,

    Was told 2 reasons why people still smoke;

    1. Nicotine is highly addictive. Depending on circumstances, person might not be able to go "cold turkey" or other method of stopping.

    2. Sometimes smoking cigarettes is prescribed my physician to get patient off of Oxycontin. I know some who are going through this.

In an earlier era of my life I used to smoke cigarettes. This was during Army service. Anticipating not to live when the new month arrives, it couldn't affect my health. I got off cigarettes when working overseas. Went to Cuban cigars - better than Lucky Strike cigarettes but stopped when on offshore rigs punching holes into pools of methane and hydrogen.

I worked cutting and hanging tobacco in the barn. It was good times, the farmers put on a pretty good lunch as part of the deal. I always got top tier in the barn, was young and nimble then.

Me Also..........Those leaves are heavy, I kind'a remember there were only five leafs on a stave. Fifty cents an hour, ten hour days for five bucks and a sunburn. It was awful hot in those barns for hanging. Fairly sure they have regulations about that level of labor for eleven and twelve year old boys. This was in South-south-central Pennsylvania, mid to late 50's.

two guys cutting and sticking. Yup five stalks to a stick, we would lean up four or so sticks. After cutting it all, we would come along with a wagon and pick it up. Pull the wagon in the barn and go to hanging.

In the winter the tobacco was stripped, sorted and graded. I never sorted. I still have a sorting tray, cutter, stick cones and a hand planter.

I hear that there is no longer a tobacco base applied to farms.

I smoked for over 30 years, both cigarettes and a pipe.
but its an expensive hobby so I gave up cold turkey, no nicotine patches or gum back then, just pure plain willpower.
Post SHTF supplies will collapse, tobacco smokers will just be another addict as addicted as any drug user.

Reloaded some 278 rounds of .38 Special the other day...from my tumbler....also six rounds of .357 Magnum.

Getting ready to reload some 75 rounds of 9mm Parabellum....though I do not own a 9mm tool.

Have a partially opened bag of .357 magnum brass I will be next reloading....about 60 rounds.

Then switching to 7mm TCU for my single shot Thompson Contender.

It will be a very busy Memorial Holiday time for me.

Very glad I have acquired lever rifles in pistol calibrations... .357/.38 Special and also .41 Magnum.

But for close in work..nothing beats OF Mossberg and Ithaca...

Verily agree with Olde Geezer about inflation/hyper inflation.

I am verily worried about hyperinflation here in the States as I am also aware what all these government bail outs mean for the economy ..printing/issuing so much monies...the M factor....Money Factor.

I can tell whenever I go buy silver and it is constantly and steadily inching up in paper dollars.....in response to the M factor...money supply in the economy chasing goods ..

In the back of my mind I am thinking 'Cloward/Piven" strategy at work....to destroy our economy ...debase our currency.

For those of you whom have never heard, been taught, or read...

    from this link....

    https://www.azquotes.com/author/7958-John_Maynard_Keynes/tag/inflation

The British Government/inflation is become the template for which many of the "Progressive" States and cities here are want to follow/educate in " herding " their people under their control.

This is a textbook example of how the British Government thinks is important in "Herding" their people...to not think but react.....robots...automatons...

By "herding" here I mean feminizing everyone in particular the males...remember …."Manspreading" and such nonsense is more important than getting rid of rape gangs....in this system...peace and tranquility ...stability for ordinary Englishmen.

    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/20...-sport-chat-excludes-women-laddish-behaviour/

Be ready for this kind of stuff, not making good nonsense, to infiltrate here in America such that we become more like the Brits...feminized....guaranteed voters to vote for more of this kind of nonsense passing for excellence.
For this is Ishmaelites at work.

The English just have such an nice delicate Marquis of Queensbury way of carrying on into bondage...that non thinkers think it is wonderful...

    It Is not wonderful.

We are not Englishmen here in the States.

Expect law enforcement to carry on this template under orders from above.....though some may protest..

Even to be snuck in under the guise of an Emergency...

Remember what I am often want to state....when the Emergency is over ...governments are not often want to return the power back to the people....but "Progress."

We are seeing this take place...right now in attempts to open up after the lockdown.
Many states...mostly progressive... are not want to give up the power ..but keep their people herded...locked down.

Remember what Lenin is quoted as saying....

Brits and yanks still have some things in common Chris, bad leaders for one, we have Boris, a bumbling stumbling buffoon and you have Trump, a narcissistic misogynist displaying signs of early dementia, we all have our cross to bear mate.

Personally I'd rather be a softie brit than an ignorant red neck.

Never reloaded handgun ammo. Years ago, got to looking and gathering together the .357 fired brass I'd shot-up (have had handguns and rifles in this caliber and really like the .357). I had to count it to buy reloading materials for it. I'd saved over 500 decent cases. What I did was to get a fellow who perpetually reloaded to reload these cases. I paid him whatever it was he asked. I provided cases and components. Black Talons had been banned by name, however they were repackaged for a while under some other name(?), so I bought 500 of them, 5 boxes. These reloads were quite accurate in whatever I shot them; good enough for me, anyway. May yet have some of that lot.

"Reloaded some 278 rounds of .38 Special the other day." Watcherchris

Got a guy to reload a bunch of .38 cases I'd shot. I bought up some swaged (basically unalloyed) lead bullets. Well the idiot loaded them hot. Oh joy, they'd lead the barrel after just a couple of cylinders. Didn't say anything to him. He was a nut; always wanting to blow things up. He killed a guy's truck while the guy and passengers were driving said vehicle. Used a .44 mag to bust the truck's engine block.

What to do? I stopped fuming. If you ever needed a barrel leaded-up to fire rat shot, well I had just the ammo for you. Too, at here-to-there ranges inside a house, what the hay. This lead would flatten into a pancake if you simply hand-tossed them at somebody. Could cut the lead with your fingernail.

If only he had gas-checked those bullets ...

Soft bullets with flat noses and gas checks to reduce the leading, now there's a killer load. Plus, they'll not fly through an intruder and hurt anything on the far side of that useless human. Cuts a perfect hole, then flattens out or comes apart dumping all of its energy into the felon.

Of course, we could still have Mrs. May in which case she would still be capitulating to the EU, and they could have Hilary Clinton in which case we would all have WW3 with Russia.
I'm very happy with what we got.

    by Max Rigger,

Sorry Max...but I don't totally trust Trump any more than I trusted previous Presidents put there by the Republican and or Democrat parties. I think the office of President has been rigged for many many years..going back to before WW1...and many Americans have not a clue.

I am not interested in becoming an Englishman or an Internationalist...but put America first...and in that I appreciate what Trump is doing. We Yanks do not need to be putting the rest of the world on our financial Breast ...to be fed with our dollars or our finest blood...including and especially "Redneck" Blood.

We've done entirely too much of that since the Boxer Rebellion in the late 1890s.....bailing out the British Crown Merchants and Bank of England and their subsidiaries when their investments go bad...

Yes indeed Max...we do have something in common in the English Civil war.....

And that is when government or it's rulers go to absolute power/divine right of kings and turn to treason to keep their power.....the precedent to turn on their government was set by Oliver Cromwell and the Roundheads.

This marks the first time in the Western World when an ordinary people had turned on and executed their King.

Now Kings had been killed by other royalty in plots and machinations...etc etc...but not by an ordinary people...

And when King George sought to expand his power over the colonies in collecting taxes...our Founders here looked to a precedent for turning on their King. They only had to look back about a hundred years to the execution of Charles 1st in January 30 of 1649....to find this historical precedent.

And our Founders knew their history.....

This is a common history of which even our phony rigged government does not want ordinary Americans to know.....for it contains in it the spirit and justification for rebellion.....and overthrow of the government....when our government commits treason against the people....in rigging everything....

Remember what Thomas Jefferson himself is quoted as saying...

This....Max Rigger is why Americans are to be armed....because of the historical tendency of governments towards "Mischief."
Absolute power/Divine Right of Kings....increasing their power and taking it away from the people..

And these phony leaders here want to frame gun ownership in terms of safety.....and or hunting …..not mischief by government...

Our 2nd Amendment states nothing about safety and or hunting ....it is not listed there....

This is how our lying phony leadership lies and deceives Americans...feminizes them....and it is treasonous in it's basic nature and goals.

    Oh...and note this Max Rigger....

The vitriol Extended to Trump and Company today is the same or similar vitriol extended to Oliver Cromwell and the Roundheads in England today. They are not well liked or appreciated for the precedent they have set in history.

For it appears that they are not part of the Ruling/power grabbing clique....rigging the system for profit but for returning power and control back to the people..liberty….not "Herding."

For I know what Benjamin Disraeli stated about the nature of power and control in government in his book...."Coningsby."
And other leaders and observers of history have stated similar.

I hate to see conditions come to such an thing..but our government needs to know that the people themselves know this history to keep government in check and from extending their power and control as many are want to do as a result of the current virus.....not give the power back to the people....but keep it and continue to "Herd" the people under their control....
In other words...loss of liberty and freedom to control their lives...via more power to government....towards absolute power and or divine right of kings..
The very thing that Oliver Cromwell and the Roundheads ended by the execution of King Charles 1st.

This knowledge and history is avoided here in our school system unless one takes initiative and searches for themselves or has good teachers who can get outside the box of what passes for history here in America. Americans are never to know this about our Founders or the English Civil War and what it portended for the founding of America.

I also doubt many Englishmen today know of this history and it is not well taught to most Englishmen...avoided for and or in lieu of important concepts like "Manspreading.

But yes Max...we do have something in common with England and in Oliver Cromwell and the Roundheads in the precedent they set for America and our Revolution....turning on their King/leadership/government.....for treason..

Agree with Lonewolf's position on the UK as well as here on the States..

    Olde Geezer,

Yes..I have to watch that too as I load a lot of cast semi wadcutters...and leading can be a problem If I load too hot...

But I do like the semi wadcutter bullet...in .38 Special.

to get back on thread, the British Police were complaining that they were getting "overwhelmed"(their wording) by Covid idiots streaming to the beaches and beauty spots and that they cant cope with the numbers, how does anyone expect them to keep order in a post collapse event?

there are NO Police in the smaller communities in the UK, Police forces are concentrated in the big cities-that is where 80% of people live and work these days.

    Good morning Lonewolf,

    In reply, with my focus from the US and not UK;

    1. Order can be kept by road closings. The few allowed to continue to travel on the road must have identification / a car visor permit to proceed. This was tested 2 years ago on the US Gulf Coast when police restricted access to shore homes and beaches after hurricane.

    2. Mandatory evacuations; no one allowed in certain area eg some beach. They must leave. Arrangements for those not mobile will be assembled for government or contracted bus to get people evacuated.

    3. Auxiliary police workers to augment the overworked/overextended LEOs. We have these auxiliaries here.

    4. US LE orgs and some military have electronics to disable electronics of private cars.

    5. Some areas will be "written off" after mandatory evacuation orders and area has no electricity nor municipal water. Think of Saudi Arabia's Empty Quarter.

Besides America's contingent of Covid idiots, we also have a LARGE component of the subsidized reckless....won't get "free" (no cost to them) flu shot ("jab"), won't get no cost to them dental care (basic dental), won't obey authority figures other than uniformed LEOs.

This 3 day Memorial Day weekend has tests going on as to compliance eg social distancing outdoors, etc.

there was a plan back in the 80s for the UK govt to commandeer ALL the main highways and to close them to civilian traffic, that includes bicycles and walkers too, as far as I know that has never been dropped, so anyone who does want to leave a large metro area will have to find an alternative route which will probably make any journey longer. most people are not used to driving, or walking, on country roads many of which aren't signposted and very few city folk can read a map never mind use a compass, if their smart phone dosent work (I believe after the Boston bombing the phone towers were shut down) then they are stuffed. not that British people are used to evacuating anyway.
During the virus here nobody left their homes, only a few "celebrities" went to their holiday homes and they have been understandably vilified for it.
minor rural areas like this are of no consequence to TPTB, that's already become very obvious over many years and many events.

This is why I keep my Dad's olde 1967 Chevy six cylinder with points and condenser...not electronic computer driven.

I also keep two olde mopeds...points and condenser...and an olde Lambretta Scooter belonging to my Dad...again points and condenser.

Unfortunately my newer scooters are computer driven....as is my newer car and truck.

    I keep thinking.....Herding....

There are places here in Virginia.....and I am sure other states and countries...where one would be very very foolish to go into these areas and cause trouble.....chaos....death and destruction...
Guinea, Matthews and other such places come to mine here locally.

So too out in Surry …..old families going way back.

First off ...many of the locals living there are related...and they know all the roads...main and back roads..even the olde trails are known to them.

You don't mess with these people....if you want to get out alive and or unharmed...and many of the local constabulary are born and raised in these communities, towns and....related.

Not a smart thing to do...go into these areas and cause trouble.

They may not have many constables....but remember ...what constabulary they have are often related to these people.....

Some of these constabulary are just as likely to say...."I'll be back in about 20 or 30 minutes to sort this out."

Not smart to go into these smaller outlying communities and cause trouble....many of these people are indeed....hard bark, stiff necked, hard drinking, and independent...even their women.

What exactly you can expect from law enforcement is dependent on the cause and level of the collapse. The power and authority of the police is a direct relationship to the politicians above them. In a total collapse the cops have no authority. When the power goes off or in a situation like an emp they will be no better or better off than the rest of us. How do you call the cops when there are no telephones? In the end, in the U, the cops will have no real power and not be a very well-armed or trained group. When the politicians are gone the strong will rule.
