The posse comitatus act will significantly limit what US military MP can be used for.

Now that the rioting is spreading to multiple urban areas, those in uniform are going to have a rather full plate.

There are chaos/SHTF scenarios wherein cops and soldiers just ain't gonna cut it. This is why citizens themselves must own and train with firearms. Where I'm from, this sort of chaos would not have been tolerated "back in the day." Most of my toys are for sport and collecting, however some (a minority) of my toys for home-defense -- I've been given no choice, because knuckle-draggers and psychos live everywhere or pack-up and head for nowheresville. This year saw an armed home invasion occur less than a quarter mile from our house (the homeowners had no firearms and things didn't go so well for them, got beaten-up and robbed). Back when living in my home state, some nasty drunk tried to get into our house at 3am.

    Good afternoon Alaska John,

The significantly limiting aspect can be modified by Congress if situation warrants it.

Pres Bush 41, the Elder, had this done in 2006 (?) or circa - vaguely recall a problem in Alabama.

From memory, believe, notwithstanding the Act, A Governor can declare being overwhelmed and the Fed's military can arrive there to help.

Tulsa, Oklahoma race war of 1921

    https://www.history.com/topics/roaring-twenties/tulsa-race-massacre

I didn't see it in this article, but some whites took up a privately-owned biplane and dropped explosives on the black community. I don't know if they used dynamite, home-made explosives, or stolen hand-grenades. Quite frankly I can't remember any other accounts of civilian air raids save this one.

This was an organized war. This was like the NAZIs effecting a "final solution". Hundreds were killed. Mass graves were filled. When white people go out for a kill, they treat it as if it were just another engineering project. It's not just anger, it is the raising up of Hell into this world. Asians and Europeans are horribly efficient when they organize into killing machines.

The Founding Fathers of the USA knew very well this tendency, thus they split the government into three separate sections so that these sections could fight each other instead of turning on the citizens. The Founding Fathers also wanted the states to be independent units with their own state militias, using as soldiers the local civilians carrying their own weapons. The Founding Fathers knew that after any sort of centralization of power comes about, so does the oppression of the people. Human Nature 101, boys and girls.

    All enemies, foreign and domestic....

In 2006, Congress modified the Insurrection Act as part of the 2007 Defense Authorization Bill (repealed as of 2008). On September 26, 2006, President George W. Bush urged Congress to consider revising federal laws so that U.S. armed forces could restore public order and enforce laws in the aftermath of a natural disaster, terrorist attack or incident, or other condition. These changes were included in the John Warner National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2007 (H.R. 5122), which was signed into law on October 17, 2006.[10]

Section 1076 is titled "Use of the Armed Forces in major public emergencies". It provided that:

The President may employ the armed forces ... to ... restore public order and enforce the laws of the United States when, as a result of a natural disaster, epidemic, or other serious public health emergency, terrorist attack or incident, or other condition ... the President determines that ... domestic violence has occurred to such an extent that the constituted authorities of the State or possession are incapable of maintaining public order ... or [to] suppress, in a State, any insurrection, domestic violence, unlawful combination, or conspiracy if such ... a condition ... so hinders the execution of the laws ... that any part or class of its people is deprived of a right, privilege, immunity, or protection named in the Constitution and secured by law ... or opposes or obstructs the execution of the laws of the United States or impedes the course of justice under those laws.[11]

In 2008, these changes in the Insurrection Act of 1807 were repealed in their entirety, reverting to the previous wording of the Insurrection Act.[12] It was originally written to limit presidential power as much as possible in the event of insurrection, rebellion, or lawlessness.

ANTIFA is a domestic terrorist organization. and rioting/looting/stealing is not a legal protest.

    Good morning Dale,

It didn't stop after 2008 onward.

POTUS can use armed forces when there is an interference with Federal or state law. This is untested but what is currently presented by Barr's Justice Department.

It was the March, 2020 reauthorization aspects of the Patriot Act that adds to the governing laws.

Now add the expanded use of National Security Letters. If Obama and Mueller can use them, they continue today.

Regardless of legal aspects, contractors and others already prepositioned to key locations. In today's environment there's really no difference between a soldier and a contractor.

I still consider the difference between a soldier and a contractor a big difference. A soldier I won't shoot. A contractor...
