I guess, that the political relations of modern America and Russia are at the lowest level.
    -------------------------------
    But...
This is not a political forum, I believe that they talk about survival here?
    -------------------------------
I grew up in a village, then I lived in a city, then I graduated from Moscow State University, I have a degree in "Master of Technology" ...
During this time, I served in the Army and fought in some territories of Russia ...
    -------------------------------
Now I'm on pension, I live in the village ...
Therefore it is interesting to talk with Americans ...

I'm talking to a Google translator

    Здравствуйте!

Welcome from Texas. As far as I know we don't have any problems at all with Russians. Politicians posture and make a big deal out of things but I know of no problems between the people of our two great countries.

I agree with Tex. I believe most people, from whatever nation they live, are generally good & wish to live their lives the best they can under given circumstances.
To struggle & survive is human nature.
Politics & ideology take advantage of the nature of man by creating false narratives & animosity along men only to advance their own political & ideological agenda.

Welcome to this Forum Dema, I am on other forums with Russian members, there is a very strong understanding of survival skills in many central and Eastern European countries that I have visited. Your input will be most welcome here.
I live in Wales but I was born in Northern Ireland, we have no axe to grind with Russia :)

    DemaOpolo,

Thinking is an important part of survival.

Political relations between Russia and America have been carefully manipulated by outsiders for many many years. I believe since before World War 2...but definitely since World War 2. Both Americans and Russians have and are manipulated in this and for power and control by the World Class Manipulators. Zanzumin...plotters and intriguers.

I began to recognize this years and years ago by listening to short wave broadcasts from outside America..when foreign stations would broadcast in English. I began to understand how much news and information did not arrive here in America ..and was controlled...removed from us by powers here in America. I began to understand that there was in existence here a heavy paper curtain ...over a supposedly free people.

Today these same controllers are trying to rig the world wide web like they manipulated the news and information years ago.

I believe that someone out here is trying to manipulate President Putin and our President Trump to not like each other and spread this around through the news media. The same thing with this President Xi in China.

Someone out here does not want these three to get together and become a team...they do not want these three to work together....against those who have been manipulating these nations for years and years now.

    Thanks,
    Watcherchris

In Russia, military weapons are PROHIBITED
For example, you can not have a gun, machine gun .... And, of course, a machine gun, a grenade launcher and a tank.
    -----------------------------
You can have a weapon "for hunting and self-defense"
    What it is?
    1. Rifles and carbines of semi-automatic fire, having a length of at least 70 cm.
    2. Pistols - only pneumatic
    3. That's all.
    -----------------------------

    Rules of ownership.
    1. To purchase a traumatic weapon, you do not need permission
    2. For the purchase of firearms:
2.1 If you keep weapons only at home, you need permission and registration. But you do not have the right to take weapons out of the house.

2.1 If you go hunting (take the weapon out of the house), then you must carry it in disassembled condition, until you reach the forest.
    Besides...
In this case, you must have: permission, registration and "hunting ticket"
    -----------------------------
    Anyway...
If you have never used a weapon before, you will get permission to own only a "smooth-bore weapon" ...
If you have owned weapons for more than 10 years, then you are allowed to use "rifled weapons"
    ------------------------
I do not like weapons and hunting.
For the last time I took weapons in 1991, but with my eyes closed, I can disassemble and collect any small arms that were accepted in the USSR troops in the 80s ...

    DemaOpolo,

Here in American it is a bit different than in Russia. Russia is Russia...and I don't tell them how to run their country.

Russia is also a very very big country....

We often think America is big..and it is big...but it is not Russia.

Now ...DemaOpolo...I am going to tell you something about how certain Americans can think and reason to themselves.

I speak of those of us who have not been made ignorant by a public school education which has been combined with a movie and television education.

There are those of us Ameicans who can still think...for ourselves...however few.

And We realize that any government which will not trust us with a gun...will not trust us with a vote......ever .

I just wanted to put that out there for the consideration of the members on these boards.

    Thanks,
    Watcherchris.

One sure sign of a troll is when they post the same crap on several threads where it isn't applicable. There is no message from a moderator on this topic. You need to understand, just as we let you say that we do nothing but chatter here we have the right to our opinion that you are acting a lot like a troll. We have tried to have a meaningful discourse with you but it just doesn't seem to work. This may be a problem with translation or maybe our world views are just that different but for whatever reason there is a lack of understanding. I can find nothing about pigs on this board, We still don't know what to do with the three potatoes and as far as I know a Kalashnikov is an AK-47 platform and a Brand just like the 1911 colt is still the same platform when it is made by another company. Also Kalashnikov USA is offering their American made guns for sale here either now or in the near future.

I have no idea what DemaOpolo...was going on about ....but I hope he gets it sorted out.

I hope and never intended to post anything which would cause offense but I think that sometimes in translation... many languages do not directly or well translate and sometimes offence is taken when none was intended. I hope that is not the case here.

I certainly did not want to see them removed, nor anyone else, but I am not in that decision making cycle.

    TexDanm,

I am of the understanding that the Kalashnikov series of rifles includes the 7.62 x39mm rifles but also the newer updated calibers in 5.45 x 39mm. And I think there are some even newer variations of this caliber...in 5.45 x.39mm...but I am not for certain that they are today called Kalashnikov rifles.

My thanks to all for their posts,
    Watcherchris.

I think definitely something got lost in translation or maybe it was a cultural thing but I don't think we needed to be talked to in the manner that he did, a difference of opinion is one thing but to have the attitude he did was just not acceptable.

That is certainly your call LoneWolf.

I hate to hear of it happening to anyone..but as I stated ..I am not in that decision making cycle.

I hope they get it worked out ..whatever it was which set them about as they did.

I too have no problem with differences of opinion ....provided one can keep it civil. As I have sometimes stated..I am not into what I tend to call..."Two Legged Wildlife."

    Thanks,
    Watcherchris.

I was told of a story about how in the olde days before firearms and snowmobiles ...how the Eskimo would control the wolf population.

For the wolves could run faster than the eskimo....see better, hear better and then they often worked in packs....and at a faster pace than the eskimos working together.

When the eskimo killed a seal ...t hey would save a certain bone which was very flexible. They would sharpen the ends of this bone...and fold it over...tightening it with a piece of sinew. Then they would wrap the whole affair in some kind of fat...and throw it on the trail where the wolf packs would frequent.

When the wolf swallowed this wrapped up bone...the sinew would dissolve...and the bone flex out straight and get caught in the gut of the wolf puncturing the digestive tract and the wolf would die of this internal wound.

I thought it pretty smart on the part of the Eskimo.

Remember the story of the Mexican criminals who hijacked a van carrying radioactive nuclear sources??? Twice!!

    There is your sinew.

    My .02,

    Watcherchris

I've also heard of a modern take on this using a tightly coiled piece of clock Spring tied with sinew concealed in bait. Another modern take on this is a used lithium watch battery concealed in bait. Both terrible ways to die.

I've heard the same story save that the Eskimo used this device to kill bears. A bear wouldn't even chew on it, just scarf the wrapped ball down whole. The ball was wrapped in leather. The leather would be digested in its stomach (carnivores have outrageously low pH stomach acid), releasing the ball to unwrap with violence.

I scarf down chocolates much like a bear dining. I've been lucky so far. And I shun anything smelling of bitter almonds proffered by my wife (she's always making sure that my insurance is up to date).

In Russian, any position of words in the sentence is possible, for this it seems strange for an English-speaking person.

Speaking of Wolves, I saw this video some time back and thought I would search it out and post it.

Very interesting. Not sure where in Russia this is but Russia is a big country ...east to west and north to south. A pack of wolves could run a long time and have free reign in some areas.

    Enjoy,

Those are dogs. Russian Wolves don't have white on the tip of their tails or white saddles. I have read that they have real issues over there with dog packs. Those looked like they were having a great time and were all of one breed. Makes me wonder if it was a staged event. Nonetheless they were very pretty and looked really well fed and healthy.
