Not surprising, given his views and outlook vis-à-vis the majority of the members of this forum.

I thought he was one of the best survivalist, some might say his views did not match the majority of member but what is wrong with a dissident view. I am more in line with his views that the other conservative right wing.

Well as you can see I am back on deck after my hip replacement. Moving pretty slow, but moving. Recovery seems to take longer as I get older.

The roofers forgot to reattach the vent pipe from our hot water tank! The high winds we are getting here from cyclone Omar blew the pipe down & we have lost 10,000 gallons of our water supply!!! Being in a drought right now this is pretty devastating. So now we are back to the days of carting water into the house by bucket & as the water system is piped through our wood fired stove, we can not do any cooking. No hot food or drinks & cold showers tonight! Keith.

Truck broke down, air conditioning pump partly fell off & hit the fan! I removed the whole thing, because it was quicker & easier than messing about trying to fix it. It wasn't working anyway!

some were asking on here about long term prepping, first concern aquire a water supply that doesn,t require community pipeline or gasoline to have access to for long term prepping. as we all know you can live for weeks without food , but only a few days without water, food is important but secondary to water.

Yes mate, pretty widespread. Fortunately we are not running stock at this time. We did get some rain last week & the two cement tanks are full, so we are okay for water for a while. Fire season has started early though, we need to clear our firebreaks!

My son's wagon was in the garage, so he borrowed my 4WD ute to do a tip run. Whilst he was parked at the tip, some bloke in a low to the ground ute treadled it in reverse without looking & smashed into the front of my ute! The bull bar got bent back & that will cost him probably close to $3000, made a mess of the back of his ute. His wife had just bought it for him!!! We are waiting on a quote.

Different feeling in the air today, still cold. I had this sense of urgency, so I got extra firewood in. I guess this feeling is felt more by country folk than city folk. One of those feelings you get but can't explain why.

Suddenly turned very cold here yesterday, cold again today. I made a trip to the city to stock up on goods that were getting low. Picked all the squash/pumpkin left in the garden. I think a wallaby jumped the fence into the chook yard in daylight & & couldn't see the fence in the dark! Fence looks like it was hit by a wombat!!!

Carted another load of firewood out of the forest & down to the wood shed yesterday. Killed & dressed two roosters this morning.

Ploughed up a large section in the fort paddock on the flats on the weekend. We are raising our production level. We have more chooks now too so we need to grow more feed. We have started our winter planting in the lower gardens.

Wish I could have chickens, even in a pen! Had some, was training them to go into a latched shed at night and beginning to bond with them, when a raccoon climbed up and unlatched the shed and ate a hen. Called a friend who actually lives nearer to other humans and paved roads, said "Take these chickens away while you can." He was able to keep them. I'm glad.

Rain early this morning. I got some mulching done before it started. Put in two new water butts yesterday, very timely:) Our gardens have come back better than I thought they would after the devastating hail storm. We still have some catching up to do though before winter.

Andrew Jackson was the first "Scots-Irish" president of the U.S., however the folk in upper East Tennessee didn't like him ... actually he was hated. He set up shop in Jonesboro TN as a lawyer / judge. He was a slaver (the men of East Tennessee, the State of Franklin, went North to fight for Lincoln, they were Republicans).
