People these days seem to just be incapable of logical linear thought. The problem isn't the guns, knives, clubs, axes or broken beer bottles that are used to hurt people. It is the people that USE those things that are the problem and need to be dealt with.

When that guy in Philadelphia shot up all those police officers the Mayer and DA started screaming about the need for more gun laws. If laws had ANY effect on gun violence that guy wouldn't have shot those officers. He was a several time convicted felon with one conviction for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

the cure for violence is really simple. remove people that commit violent crimes from the streets. Make using a gun or knife when committing a crime a long mandatory sentence. The second offense is life without parole and possession of a firearm by someone convicted of a gun-related felony should be the same. Most violent crimes are committed by many times convicted violent criminals. There is no reason that someone with a record as long as my leg of felony crimes should even be walking the streets.

If you commit a crime and use a gun you are a violent criminal. there should be no difference in the sentencing for Murder, manslaughter, attempted murder or robbery with a gun. All indicate that the person was willing to kill and just because they didn't do it this time or that they messed up and were incompetent killed should make no difference. If a person shows a willingness to kill or injure someone with a gun then they need to be removed from the streets.

The actual question is - and needs to be addressed first - why does not this matter have universal acceptance throughout the US ?

I remember when the traditional type of common law rape was a capital felony. Shoot a police officer and the execution was frequently without delay after the conviction's appellate process completed.

If you look at liberals close you will discover that they are all over taking away your rights but don't even abide by their own beliefs. Over the years there have been several cases where a rabid antigun politician has shot someone. They drive BIG SUVs and while they would like to require people to use on-demand hot water heaters they nonetheless have a huge 8 person jacuzzi on their back porch that they keep hot year around. Can you imagine the energy that it takes to keep that thing hot in the winter???? I've commented on it and they give me a strange look as if asking me "what's your point?" They just can't see it if it related to THEM making sacrifices or changes that might not be convenient.

look at the last presidential election. Half of the voting Americans voted for a person that makes little effort to hide her distaste for Americans. Between her and her husband, they totally removed any idea that our leadership had ANY morals. In the elections before they voted for a man that declared that his moral guide was a man that stood in a pulpit and screamed over and over GOD DAMN AMERICA! With half the country voting like this is there really any wonder why the criminals run the streets and major cities of this country?? Hilary wants to but the voting booths in the prisons!! She knows where their support comes from.

 

Just like guns, none of my knives have ever jumped out of my sheathe and started carving people up. It is just "crime". Whether assault, or homicide, or rape or whatever. Criminals intent on doing harm are not going to follow laws against using their weapon of choice.

For an additional dose of laughter, some of the US states - Virginia is one of them - prohibit the WWI era trench knife with the brass knuckles manufactured onto the grip section. The military knife and bayonet without the brass knuckles is typically legal to carry when exposed to view, at least in Virginia, with exceptions for local ordinances like the big cities of northern Virginia.

Apparently, brass knuckles use is immoral.

Now, one more question. Is the label "liberal" accurate, .. a clear presentation of what the person with this tag represents and espouses ? For the record: I am not a conservative. I am a libertarian.

I magnify their own tactics. At meetings, I ask if the air conditioning in the public building can be turned off to save the environment. I ask if we can car-pool to some event to minimize road use. You can accurately guess the rest of the examples.

They do hate my frequent suggestion that everyone bring their own lunch so as not to need a refrigerator.

I carry a Mora Knife in my daily BOB....backpack to and fro work. There are also in there three folding knives in addition to the tool steel KUBEY Folding Knife I carry on my Levi's pocket daily.

I don't feel properly dressed if I do not have at least a folder on me all the time.

Suit and tie time it is a Swiss Army Knife for a little more class than My Kubey.


I use a knife almost daily at work. Also keep a diamond hone in my locker at work...as well as another right here next to this laptop.

I am hesitant to loan out my Kubey to certain people at work.....they have little respect for a good tool. I don't like high maintenance types...particularly with my tools.


Amazing to me how many people out there cannot sharpen a knife as well as take care of one.

I reckon that next to a screwdriver ..a knife is one of the most abused tools out there.

Try to keep my Kitchen block knives sharp too. Hate trying to cut up a nice red "Mater" with a dull knife.


Don't have a lot of use for and or tolerance for two legged wildlife.......no matter what tool they decide to use/misuse on their victims.
I put them in the same class as Ishmaelites.

I like to keep my Kubey Folder on me even when I am carrying my Ruger GP 100 in .357 Magnum or my 1911....45ACP.

Actually, you are right about "liberals" not being an accurate label for these people. It is just the label that has become commonly used. I can think of several descriptives that are more accurate. Dumba$$s, Mindless people without morals, Criminally corrupt individuals, In the case of my Inlaws they are just plain dumb as a post about living in a REAL world. They actually can't understand that people are never going to act like angels even if you take away their guns. Somehow they seem to really believe that guns are the CAUSE of violence. They hate the military and believe that if we had no military then we wouldn't have to worry about getting into a war.

Another flaw of the leftist movement is a strange disability to relate their beliefs to themselves and can't ever see the flaws in the people that are their leaders. My Sister in law and her family are excellent examples of this. I say that they are stupid but the fact is they are all college-educated and are actually fairly intelligent. Stupidity has nothing to do with IQ though. If you have intelligence and fe==refuse to use it you are stupid. The wildly hilarious thing about them is that My niece (sister in laws daughter) is a rabid liberal BUT she is married to an army vet that last time I talked to them was working for a weapons development company that is spearheading the development of the drones as weapons. They just don't talk about it. She has no problem with it. People like her never apply their beliefs to their wants needs or themselves. If it is good for them then it is OK but they would deny that same right to you.

The problem is quite simply that our easy-going protected society is breading stupidity. In the past up to about a hundred years ago stupid people that didn't deal with reality didn't do very well. They lost a lot of their children. Without birth control, smart people had about the same number of kids as stupid people had and their children had a higher survival rate. WW2 was the last time that there was a house cleaning. the men that were dumb went to war whether they liked it or not and because they were not smart they never came home. Since then the stupid have bred like rats while the intelligent have had fewer children.

I remember when a man that was running for president and looking good crashed and burned because he was caught messing around on his wife. As a known adulterer his campaign just died and he dropped out. Can you imagine how the people of that time would have felt about the hijinks that Clinton was caught doing over and over?

People have changed. We send our kids to college now. All kids need to go to college even if they are dumb as a box of rocks. They are then indoctrinated with the liberal beliefs. They get out of school and can't find a job because the liberal professors don't really educate in a lot of colleges. They are forced to take all sorts of useless classes that have nothing to do with education and are all about mind washing them. In order to get her diploma from the university, she had to pay for and take classes about racial and cultural diversity. I read some of that stuff and it was INSANE and mostly lies.

They try to rewrite history. According to them, white people are the cause of all violence. Black gang people are that way because whites forced them to be that way. The blacks were rulers in Africa and lived a near utopian life until the white people came and destroyed them. The reason the nose of the sphinx was blown off was because it displayed Negroid features proving that the ancient Egyptians were actually the rulers that built the pyramids. Really this is what they are teaching!!!!??? Basically what they are saying is that if white people would act more like that peaceful misunderstood black people then every thing would be peaceful and perfect.

Nowadays this programming starts in elementary school. I moved to where I am in part because of the schools where we lived. The day my little girl came home crying because she felt like a loser because she was white I knew we had to leave. The Black History week has become a month or more of crap. My little girl in the third grade was convinced that she couldn't ever be a great American because all thing great in America was done by black people. The school was probably 80% black and the only way to get a better school was to leave that city. We moved to a place that is so conservative that it is a liberalsworst nightmare. It was a good choice and I have no regrets.

We had a situation in the UK, only recently, where a guy threw acid in the face of a woman and two children. He was known to the Police, had a history of offences (including sexual offences) had been denied the "right to remain" in the UK but, allegedly, converted to Christianity so was allowed to stay. Throughout he was "known to the Police", but still he was able to mount an acid attack.

"Known to the Police" seems to me to be another way of saying society was failed by Police who did not keep a close enough watch on the perpetrator/s.

We have nutcases even in our little town. They frequent government owned buildings during the daytime when they can't stay at homeless centers. Example: the library.
