    Ref "Big Dog IC"; Actually, national procedure (National Incident Management System [NIMS]) says not to use abbreviations, acronyms, "code words/code numbers". The philosophy is that when incidents expand, the SAR dog teams will get confused, and et cetra.

    Universally recognized abbreviations and acronyms are OK - like "FBI", "FAA", "NORCOM", "EMT".

    This is quality training and an excellent opportunity for volunteers to get no-cost training.
