What are some things I can ferment for consumption?
Any fruit or grain, fruit works better as sugar may have to be added with the grains to make it ferment better.
Kimchi or another spelling Kim Chee. That's for consumption, but you don't drink it.
That's why we malt/sprout grain. Converts part of the starch to sugar.
Just about any sugar is fermentable. Honey, tree sap (about 20 tappable trees in the US to include maple, birch and sycamore) cane and sorghum as well as fruit juice.
