    Good morning all,

    Article about standardizing and coordinating disaster info (and follow-on humanitarian aid) for ASEAN member nations.

    Article about a premier IT program.

    The IT is funded by US AID's Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance.

    How do you say "Pegasus" auf Vietnamese ?

    Both pre-IT and currently, "reliable information" is difficult to establish and it is a time-consuming process.

    usually its the lack of info coming out of the disaster area that is the problem.
    roads are cut off or cant be used for one reason or another, and landing strips for aircraft are too far away from the disaster zone. think Japanese earthquake or Asian tsunami, Chinese mud slides or dam collapses.

    Meaning it will be Intel, IBM (back-end), and Google (front-end)
    Kinda funny though. It seem Trump administration really worry about China tech firms gaining further market penetration into ASEAN :D:p

    Not around here (ASEAN). The main challenge nowadays are extrapolating all the data as fast & accurate enough, and to transport relief efforts to the affected area fast enough.

    Britain always seem to be slow when reacting to disasters, even those which happen in the UK, it always seems to be a case of too little too late.
