    Good morning all,

Happy Thanksgiving to celebrants of holiday. I don't celebrate; just read the history and with my correspondents suggest to hold off on consuming much meat if over 60 and add that a good substitute for turkey is "Wild Turkey", the whiskey. Elizabeth Taylor, when married to the WWII, Korean War, onward US Senator John Warner of Virginia, frequented a hotel in Virginia Beach and was a drinker of Wild Turkey....so told to me by the drinkologist who worked there many years.

I read the NY Post Dr Sandra Fryhofer side effects article. The article is also important for what is omitted. This omission is common among medical doctors and the public health practioners.

    Ref her "But they've got to come back for that second dose";

One additional near-fatal casualtity of this pandemic war is tthe decay and near disestablishment of the nation's volunteer organizations - from police department auxilleries to volunteer fire and rescue squads to veterans health care support services.

How does the COVID-19 immunization patient physically return to the immunization clinic location ?! Many - too many - people live in areas where they rely on fragile programs to support their living. There are numerous restrictions on volunteers and, in effect, this patient will not have transportation for the second shot/jab.

Attention brilliant public health care workers: Recommend visit Middle America.

Our national support systems are close to collapse.

All my life when working and in retirement always active in - my - communities doing volunteer work. Today the restriction prohibit much of this and the public sector employed do not - usually don't even know about - address the horseshoe nail problems of saving the nation.

In a few weeks I anticipate this dire situation to get worse.

I'll close with another Happy Thanksgiving.

Hopefully those who are responsible will amend the restrictions on volunteers when the vaccine is rolled out in order to allow them to function.

    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/20...-likely-to-last-12-months-hard-winter-coming/

"Lockdowns won’t end until anticipated vaccines 'come to our aid' in the future and the country can expect a “hard winter”, the Prime Minister has said, as the government’s science advisor warned it is quite possible the coronavirus will simply mutate to outperform vaccinations.

"Speaking at the Downing Street press conference hours after the details of the new post-lockdown-lockdown were revealed to the country, Prime Minister Boris Johnson made clear to the nation that there was no reasonable hope of lockdown ending soon, saying merely that there was 'reason to hope' that spring would see an end of 'this era of restrictions'."

"Given the United Kingdom’s regime of lockdowns began in March 2020, it stands to reason that the Prime Ministers remarks confirm that the nation’s lockdown will be in place with varying degrees of intensity for at least a full calendar year."

    https://abcnews.go.com/Health/wireStory/uk-leader-end-englands-coronavirus-lockdown-dec-74343372

"LONDON -- British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced plans for strict regional measures to combat COVID-19 after England’s lockdown ends Dec. 2, sparking a rebellion by members of his own party who say the move may do more harm than good.

"Johnson’s office said late Saturday that the government plans to return to a three-tiered system of restrictions, with areas facing different measures depending on the severity of their outbreaks. Though it is likely that a much-criticized 10 p.m. curfew on bars and restaurants will be altered, the tiers are likely to include tighter restrictions than when they were first used in October even as more communities are expected to be placed in the two highest virus alert categories."

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...t-lockdown-says-blackburn-public-health-chief

"Some of England’s poorest areas face being trapped in coronavirus restrictions “permanently” unless the government tackles deep-rooted inequalities that are driving high transmission, according to a public health chief."

Deep-rooted inequalities: "... smoking, physical inactivity, obesity, and excessive alcohol intake ... ".

    https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32454138/

"We conducted the first large-scale general population study on lifestyle risk factors (smoking, physical inactivity, obesity, and excessive alcohol intake) for COVID-19 using prospective cohort data with national registry linkage to hospitalisation. ..."

The article in the Guardian is now out of date given we have the go ahead to begin vaccination but we and other countries like the USA need to address the problems facing large junks of society (Old Geezer, you do realise the Guardian is very much a left wing publication?).

Are there any truly right-wing publications left in England? We Americans suppose that 95% of your country has gone soft. This is especially true after having not heard of any of the rape gang crews being shot dead where they stood. You let your little girls be used by savages. You maxine are a living example of a British non-prepping poser. We often think of British as smug and arrogant -- you reinforce that belief. Part of me enjoys the fact that you are spoiled and arrogant, for it guarantees that you will not survive that which is heading for Great Britain and Europe. The silence of such as yourself will be golden for the honorable of England who will survive. When you pass into the next world, do say hello to Nevil Chamberlain -- you will eternally reside with the honorless appeasing dead.

I did see on the local news last night people being interviewed about the vaccine, many like me said they would be using a " wait and see" attitude to the jab and possible side affects.

Plenty of right wing papers, the Daily Heil/Mail is a fine example. Who are the savages you talk of, great word, I now have visions on you wearing a pith helmet carrying an elephant rifle LOL.....yes Sahib.

I don't think brits are smug, confident and usualy right yes but not smug. If your not to old to take a flight you should save up your pension and come over for a few months and discover Great Britain, go and talk to some foreign jonnies in Europe too...your never too old to expand your horizons.

Auf Wiedersehen alter Mann, einen schönen Tag :)

I live off no pension. When I retire, there will exist no government checks. I'll just use my experience as handgun and rifle instructor to train new generations of people who will fight for sacred Liberty. Got the ammo with which to train them. I'll distribute my toys to any of my lot who need them. I will return to God having opposed the abortionists, the anti-Christ legions, and others who throw their feces at their Creator.

Lot of twats listen to crap/'fake news' on forums and social media rather than facts, but we'll get there in the end. Looks like we've peed off some countries by being the first to start nationwide inoculation LOL

we are first with the vaccine because we cut corners on the length of testing and licencing, many European countries are saying they want to take longer " to ensure the safety of our populations", these vaccines are all new and unknown, a bit of caution wouldnt go amiss.
in any case it will be months before it gets down to us lesser mortals.
people are acting like they will get it tomorrow and then they can forget about the virus, they are WRONG on both cases, Covid 19 will be with us for a long time, years not months.

Didn't Russia start first with immunization program nationwide ?

I attended a meeting last week and someone mentioned the Russian vaccine was not "approved" for whatever the statement meant. Meeting was mostly medical and dental surgeons on a committee and couldn't follow some of the complaints about things being a mess.

    ......

One headache here with the COVID immunization program is that those who anticipate adverse reactions have nowhere to go to for help. The hospitals and clinics are saturated and the citizen volunteer programs are highly restricted.

Virginia is the lead state to start the national immunization program for the general population.

It looks like sheeple will be the first to run out and get their bodies and brains mutated . At least that is an advantage for preppers . That will give time for preppers to analyze the mutants and make a rational decision on getting the vaccine .

    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/20...-suggests-brits-could-be-wearing-masks-years/

UK's med man, Jonathan Van-Tam, sez:

[The following quoted areas are the words of Jonathan Van-Tam]

“I don’t think we’re going to eradicate coronavirus, ever. I think it’s going to be with humankind forever. I think we may get to a point where coronavirus becomes a seasonal problem. I don’t want to draw too many parallels with ‘flu, but possibly that is the kind of way we’d learn to live with it.”

He continued: “Do I think there will come a big moment where we have a massive party and throw our masks and hand sanitiser and say, ‘That’s it, it’s behind us’, like the end of the war? No, I don’t.

“I think those kinds of habits that we have learned from… will perhaps persist for many years, and that may be a good thing if they do.”

When Prime Minister Johnson asked the medical officer to clarify, Van-Tam said that he did not think the government “will continue to have to recommend social distancing, masks, and hand sanitiser forever and a day”.

“I hope we will get back to a much more normal world. But, the point I was trying to make was — do I think, possibly, some of those personal habits for some people will persist longer, and, perhaps, become enduring for some people, yes, I think that’s possible.”

    Good afternoon Old Geezer,

    I agree with Dr Van.

Haven't read it yet, less the title and subtitle, but this title and subtitle to Holman Jenkins' 1 Dec opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal tells much, if not all; His article is:

    "WE DECIDE HOW MUCH CONTROL"
"The US promoted the illusion of control instead of the wisdom of risk management"

So you go with the "my mate said/a fella on the forum/bloke down the pub/read on twitter" type of guy and ignore peer reviewed/clinical science and data...wonderful, well that should thin out the Trump supporters in the coming months LOL.

Not looking good for Don just now, lots of rats deserting the sinking ship :). He is eroding the credibility of the Republican party and if you support them you need to pull the plug the guy.

Computer-created fake video -- the "people" you see dragging out suitcases full of illegal ballots are only virtual reality constructs.

    https://www.zerohedge.com/political/cctv-video-georgia-poll-workers-sparks-election-fraud-outrage

"Disturbing election night footage has emerged showing Georgia poll workers waiting for observers and news outlets to leave State Farm Arena in Atlanta after calling an end to counting for the night, before pulling out several large suitcases containing ballots from under a table."

It will be great for America to have a proven invalid socialist regime, Kamala/Biden, violating human Liberties and printing trillions / quadrillions of unbacked dollars.

Most all "assault rifle" owners are military, ex-military, police, retired police personnel. When the Kamala administration bans / taxes these rifles away (taxation is a very effective means of raping Liberty), she will have an army of enemies who know how to use the weapons that they are NOT going to turn-in to god government.

    https://reason.com/2018/12/20/new-jerseys-gun-owners-do-not-seem-eager/

"Thanks to a December 5 ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit, New Jersey's ban on gun magazines that hold more than 10 rounds took effect on December 10. By that date, all owners of heretofore legal "large capacity magazines" (LCMs) were required to surrender them to police, render them inoperable, modify them so they cannot hold more than 10 rounds, or sell them to authorized owners. Those who failed to do so are guilty of a fourth-degree felony, punishable by a maximum fine of $10,000 and up to 18 months in prison.

"How many of New Jersey's 1 million or so gun owners have complied with the ban by turning LCMs in to law enforcement agencies? Approximately zero, judging from an investigation by Ammoland writer John Crump. Crump, an NRA instructor and gun rights activist, "reached out to several local police departments in New Jersey" and found that "none had a single report of magazines turned over." He also contacted the New Jersey State Police, which has not officially responded to his inquiry. But "two sources from within the State Police," speaking on condition of anonymity, said 'they both do not know of any magazines turned over to their agency and doubted that any were turned in.'"

    https://freebeacon.com/issues/gun-g...ns-assault-weapons-registered-latest-gun-law/

"A California-based gun-rights group told the Washington Free Beacon on Wednesday the state has managed to register less than 5 percent of the guns required to be registered under California's latest gun ban."

I have read numbers as high as 15% compliance (rifle registration & magazine turn-in confiscation) in California; i.e. 85% do not comply with Big Brother dictates. California's government gods are afraid of war, so they don't push the matter unless they wish to specifically attack certain groups of non-toadies.

A nation of scoff-laws, hurrah! The anger grows, perfect! Print those dollars!

Individuals who experience vaccine side effects should call in sick for work.

    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...es-could-bench-health-care-workers-amid-surge

"Vaccines’ Side Effects Risk Sidelining Health Workers While Cases Surge"

"Covid-19 vaccine side-effects that range from fevers and chills to headaches and joint pain could keep some doctors and nurses from working amid a nationwide surge in hospitalizations.

"Health systems are gearing up to vaccinate key hospital staff with the Pfizer Inc. and Moderna Inc. coronavirus shots, which could start shipping in the U.S. in a matter of weeks, pending emergency-use authorizations."

there is also the point that we are not allowed to sue the vaccine manufacturers if there are serious and long term side effects, that alone makes me very suspicious.
no I'm not going to be a medical guinea pig, let some one else take it first and I will sit back, wait and see.
with my lifestyle I am in no rush to be vaccinated.

you still dont get it .
you are (probably) one of those people who still thinks the government(any government) has your best interests at heart( at least thats how you come across). in most disasters its the govt that is the cause and not the solution.
by the way they have just announced that this Pfizer vaccine only offers immunity for about 90 days or less than 3 months.

The government has its own best interests at heart of that I've know doubt but it pays to keep us happy and don't confuse 90% with 90 days because I've seen no headlines about it lasting less than three months and I'd imagine it would be front page news.

Again LW, your oozing to the point of relishing bad news and thats not good for you fella, have you and the others here always been depressed? Is it a prepper trait I need to look out for? No wonder this site can't attract new members, people visit, read and think 'sod this, they ain't dragging me down' No articles on anything useful to a prepper on this site, its become a hangout for a handful of sorry souls to complain about everything and thats the truth Lone Wolf. So why are you still trolling this site, little boy?

I put firearms articles on here in case people need to learn how to clear their streets of mongrels telling them to abandon their homes. Many are going to realize very soon what the collectivists intend to do to America. Therefore they need information on how they can best use the firearms they have recently purchased.

Which reminds me, I need to post some more "gun porn"!

Maxiflatus, one reason you don't get info off this site is that the only prepping you do is to go out camping. Even then you take your little-boy electronics with you. Dear God, how pathetic.

Oh, you were going to ask your mommy government for permission to own a firearm. How's that going? How many hundred rounds of ammo will your mommy government allow you to own?

    Good morning Max,

Any student of forensic psychiatry woild have little work plotting out your persona.

Ref "No articles or anything useful to a prepper on this site" clearly indicates you are not a Prepper nor conversant in the presented tangents such as travel experience and the learning.

What you call "complain" most others deem fatiguing scholarship and the mechanical application of knowledge to one's preparedness.

Even for those without a forensic psychiatry background, it's all clearly displayed by your "miserable bunch of old gits".

You are one of the younger Forum Members here and it is obvious to us older "miserables" that your life experiences are limited.

Your bold statements are absolutely wrong.

For example, the US support systems in re health care are already at near-collapse stages. The small margins for treatment are for current military in dire need, LEOs, Fire Fighters and other critical members of US society.

You're not knowledgeable about the NAZI party.

You're not knowledgeable how the modern remnants of the Sanhedrin determine who is "Jewish". The Bena tribe of Ethiopia were determined to be Jewish with no reference to DNA. This was a major news event a couple of decades ago. You missed it.

I once asked you what you trained for and did in the British Army and had no reply. This fortifies my belief you have limited life experience.

You just don't know what's going on in the world and show that you are too fearful to confront the reality of today.

The World War II stories were true and they could be repeated.

"Any student of forensic psychiatry woild have little work plotting out your persona" Love that LOL, load of bollocks but love it :)

"You're not knowledgeable about the NAZI party." Wrong, I know more than most, WW1 and more so WW2 (and interwar years are an area I've studied for years.

"I once asked you what you trained for and did in the British Army and had no reply. This fortifies my belief you have limited life experience." I have said in the past I was not a 'bang bang' soldier (but have used weapons) and I was trained to fix things, keep machinery running, all shapes and sizes and this experience has led me to a very well paid job in civvy street.

"You just don't know what's going on in the world and show that you are too fearful to confront the reality of today." I'm the realist here, I don't live in some fantasy world like most preppers seem to do. I've seen far more of the world, warts and all than most of you here.

To be honest judging by content of posts I doubt most here would last a month if it did hit the fan, they'd loose their bravado, loose their bottle...I won't, haven't in the past and won't in the future and I've been in more than one or two extreme situations where your sphincter goes tight and you have to get on with the job in hand.

This reply of mine is far too personal but warranted given the shite you and the old man have aimed at me, just a bit of tit for tat if you like.

You need and some others here to say goodbye to Mr Roarke and get back to reality, get back to prepping for real and stop daydreaming for a day when you'll prevail and come out the hero...real life ain't always like that.

Prepping question, anyone here have a freeze dryer? Are they worth the money?

And oh by-the-way, freeze-drying has way too many downsides to be considered a robust method of storing food. Why is it that you do not already know this?
