Make sure that you "Scotch Guard it so it doesn't soak up water. They seem to be good except for that. That is a great size and can be set up in so many different ways.

 

What kinda wax?

 

That's what I thought, bee wax. A bee hive is on my wife's homesteading wish list. So I can check that off as a need/want item.

 

How do you apply the bees wax? Melt and brush?

 

I'd use a silicone waterproofing spray rather than beeswax.
The Scotchguard suggestion was a great one.

 

We melt it in diesel fuel heated on a camp stove (Carefully-very Carefully) and use a paint roller. We do this with new canvas wall tents that we use in Alaska big game hunting camps. We only do the roof, not the walls.

 

You can also melt wax in a solvent and apply it to cloth to make wonderful fire starters.
