Awhile back I came across a method for cooking eggs in a fire. In one end of the egg a small hole is poked through the shell. Maybe the size of a pea. Then some hot ashes are pulled out of the fire and the egg is set on the ashes hole up. It will cook the egg, some of the egg will bubble out the hole a tad bit. The trick is not to cook it too fast and to get it cooked properly. With a little practice it works out.
