    Good morning all,

The Governor of NY requires food to be served with alcoholic beverages.

    The New Yorkers are innovative.

    Per ...

    ......

In the "old South" of the late 1950s - early 1960s, a loosening up of the alcoholic beverages laws and regulations started. At some gasoline stations, the predecessor to the current convenience stores, beer and wine could be sold IF food products were also sold.

On a shelf above the cooler, would be 2 or 3 rusty cans of beans. The gas station might have $10,000 annual sales of brew and wine ... and be in full compliance with state laws.
