The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) told The Epoch Times that it has written contracts with ATF for “sharing income information” for criminal investigations. The revelation may lead to oversight by the legislature.

Texas state Rep. Briscoe Cain, a Republican, is “deeply troubled” about this coordination with the state’s unemployment agency and federal government.

“My office will be looking into whether the Texas Workforce Commission is assisting the ATF in the Biden Administration’s mission to violate the constitutional rights of law-abiding Texans,” Cain told The Epoch Times after reviewing the emails obtained by Gun Owners of America (GOA) as part of its ongoing FOIA lawsuit.

In one of the documents, an ATF agent emailed the FBI that a person suspected of straw purchasing or firearms trafficking needed to be put into the gun background check database. The agent wrote that “per TWC,” the man’s “reported wage earnings with the State of Texas do not appear to supply the financial means to afford the firearms purchased.”

The ATF agent requested on Dec. 28, 2020, that the Texan’s gun purchases be monitored daily for 90 days. However, as previously reported, the FBI wrote to ATF that its agents could request an extension of the monitoring for as long as they wanted.

Texas’s role in the program was uncovered in the ATF’s ninth production of documents to GOA as part of a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit. The 42 pages are more heavily redacted than the previous ones given to GOA. There are seven pages of blacked-out information before the source of the income of the person in Texas is shown as TWC.

“One would think that a pro-gun state like Texas would not be handing over gun owners’ confidential financial information to the federal government without a warrant or likely even without probable cause,” Rob Olson, an attorney for GOA, told The Epoch Times.

Texas does not have a state income tax. Employers report wages to the TWC in order to determine their unemployment taxes, so its the state’s only source for tracking income.

Another case in the documents shows agents in the ATF Dallas field office knew a Texas woman’s salary and used that information to get the FBI to put her into NICS [National Instant Criminal Background Check System]. It does not say her salary came from TWC, but there is one paragraph redacted.

The agent wrote in Jan 2021 that the suspect “has a steady job however her annual salary in no way can support her current spending on firearms.” It also says that she “received multiple wire” transfers from a man in Sacramento, California.

It appears the woman was monitored daily by the FBI for at least 180 days. None of the emails between the FBI and ATF released have shown that a request to monitor someone was denied.

“Federal agents have no business deciding whether they think a person’s income qualifies them to buy a certain number of guns. If ATF thought it had enough for a warrant, presumably it would get one,” GOA’s Olson said.

The FBI and ATF, which call their program NICS Monitoring Services, do not get a warrant or court order for tracking people for just “potential” violations of law. The requirement that federally licensed dealers do an instant background check through NICS on gun buyers was created in the Brady Act in 1993. The law says that the database can only be used to track people who are in the nine categories prohibited to possess guns, which includes felons, drug users, domestic abusers, and illegal aliens.

Spokesmen for both the FBI and ATF refuse to say if the program is ongoing and how many people are currently being monitored by NICS who are not legally prohibited from buying guns.

I've known a couple of anti-gun people over the years and once they let it be known I DISTANCED myself from them. For one thing if something bad happens I figure that they will cower or run or just expect me or someone else to defend them. If they are afraid of having a gun then I have no use for them in my personal space.

Depending on the cops is like choosing a mortician for your family doctor. They will show up if you call them...after you have been robbed or beaten half to death or DEAD. They will take statements. That doesn't do you a bit of good if you are in danger when you called.

I think that this attitude is a regional sort. I grew up with guns in the house though they were not as prevalent as they are in mine. There are guns in every room and in my shop as well. I have sold guns and repaired guns professionally in the past. When Carter was Elected I bailed. Anti gun presidents lead to gestapo type government actions on people in the gun business. My family means too much to me to expose them to that sort of crap.

My partner wasn't smart and stayed in. 4 months after I bailed they kicked his front door at 3AM and dragged him and his wife out of bed and totally TERRORIZED his 4 year old daughter when they dragged her into the front room. They had an "anonymous" tip that he was selling guns off the books. They took EVERY gun in the house and any cash money they could find. In the end he proved that every gun that they had taken was on the books and legally his and he got all but one back. they stole that one and even though it was on their paper work they denied having it.

Jim hired a lawyer so that WHEN a cop dropped that one missing gun on someone that he had shot illegally, that they couldn't come back on him. They never said that they "lost" it but they had to admit, based on their own paper work, that they had taken it. They also never paid for it either.

My short run in the gun business totally destroyed what little faith or trust that I had in cops.

 

Cutting to the chase, young black men are killing-off their own. They are doing so with stolen firearms. America's "gun deaths" are due to this black-on-black violence. Mass shootings are the product of the mainstream media's mass reporting of mass shootings = an ongoing stream of copy-cat catastrophes. The fact that everyone would start shooting is also laughable when statistics are examined.

While President Putin pushes through reforms, the local authorities, especially in our vast hinterland, do not feel they need to act like they work for the people. They do as they please, a tyrannical class who knows they have absolutely nothing to fear from a relatively unarmed population. This in turn breeds not respect but absolute contempt and often enough, criminal abuse.

For those of us fighting to protect traditional rights from the World Gang Association , the US 2nd Amendment is a rare light in an ever darkening room.

Governments will use the excuse of trying to protect the people from maniacs and crime, but are in reality, it is the bureaucrats protecting their power and position. In all cases where guns are banned, gun crime continues and often increases.

As for maniacs, be it nuts with cars (NYC, Chapel Hill NC), swords (Japan), knives (China) or home made bombs (everywhere), insane people strike. They throw acid (Pakistan, UK), they throw fire bombs (France), they attack.

What is worse, is, that the best way to stop a maniac is not psychology or jail or “talking to them”, it is a bullet in the head, that is why they are a maniac, because they are incapable of living in reality or stopping themselves.

According to those working there, the police have to be called at least once a month to take into custody those who begin acting out with aggression or due to their out of control behavior. Two months ago, the librarians had to call police on a guy inside the library with a walking stick trying to beat the "snakes off of himself". It took the police a few minutes to arrive, so it was "interesting" for the staff to have to deal with that particular screamer. Sometimes the psych cases get aggressive with the librarians and patrons. All of these horrifically ill people end up right back out on the streets

A spokesman from the National Shooting Sports Foundation told the Examiner that “the government is considering restricting the manufacturing and commercial sale of legal ammunition produced at the Lake City, Mo., facility” in question – a claim the White House later denied, by the way.

Currently, Winchester is allowed to sell surplus ammo on the civilian market once the military has had its fill. This is the policy the Biden regime supposedly wants to nullify as it now represents about 30 percent of all 5.56 nm and .223 caliber ammunition sales.

Concerning the Hornady incident, a growing number of people thinks it could have been an attack by the very same government that just last year was exposed for wanting to ban the types of public ammo sales that occur because of its operations.

One woman on X wrote that Hornady is now offline for ammunition, and that Winchester has “announced no civilian ammo” from here on out.

“Our guy [sic] store thinks things are going to get problematic!” she further wrote. “There’s a whisper that lake city just suspended all civilian ammo also. And we were told they know something we don’t and if you can, go buy ammo and go buy g*ns this is not a drill!”

In other words, stock up now if you are concerned about the availability of ammo in the U.S. moving forward and aim to keep your own stockpile just in case.

On the streets, these patients continually get mugged, die of hypothermia during winters, mentally ill women get raped, on and on, horror upon horror ...

The statistics I've read put the number of psych cases killed by police at circa 1,000 per year -- this in the U.S. . And I sure am NOT blaming the police! They have families and like everybody else want to go home at night uninjured. University professors being the idiots they are often blame the cops. Let them ride with the police for a month or three! Let them attempt to subdue these psychotic aggressors. New Psychiatric residents working the psych wards get lessons in aggression whether they are ready for it or not. Getting one's face busted while attempting to aid the orderlies gives one a "welcome to life" wake-up call.

Dropping the ball when it comes to checking on the welfare of the mentally ill can result in horrific tragedy.

One does not have to be a physician, psychiatrist, or psychologist to know that when somebody starts losing their mental faculties, they need to be seen by medical professionals. This latest copy-cat shooter had sought (on the order from his superior officer) and received two weeks of hospitalization at a military hospital after "hearing voices" in his head. The community for months maybe years avoided this individual and his family due to their bizarre behaviors. It was said that their house was maintained like some compound.

This fellow even tried to by a silencer (you have to get a special Federal license) at two gun shops. They turned him down due to his admitting having been involuntarily sent to a mental hospital -- i.e. he didn't even get to the part where the FBI would have checked him out. Involuntary commitment SHOULD go onto police records for an individual, but this ball is also being dropped. You're a cop. You get called to a residence where a known psych case is living. Wouldn't you like to know about this situation?! This is not just any police call. Should no violence have occurred so far, wouldn't you want a specially-trained senior officer to also be there with you before engaging in any interactions?! Holy crap!!!!!

Yet, nothing was done. Don't blame the gun.

It may be a dark way of looking at the phenomenon of copy-cat mass-murderers, but that they use firearms might be a lesser evil than were they to actually think about how to kill large numbers of people.

Arsonists get the gold medal for mayhem when it comes to body-counts. Large volume venues, tall office buildings, and multi-story apartment buildings would be scenes of unimaginable catastrophe were these nut-cases good in the selection of their vengeance devices.

I'm dumbfounded that terrorists haven't attacked major football stadiums when jammed with fans.

What with the flood of illegals across our borders, I'm expecting some major terrorist attacks. This is especially true now what with the Palestine vs. Israel war going hot.

The NAFTA deal with Mexico means that mortars and rockets could be trucked across the border hidden within legal cargo on 18-wheelers. A mortar or rocket attack on a huge sporting event would result in a huge casualty count. The explosives wouldn't be the big killer -- it would be the stampede of people. Ammonium nitrate is a super-common fertilizer. Fertilizer contaminates agricultural products shipped into America; so, how could aggy products and nitrogenous-based explosives be differentiated?

A sniffer dog would have to be especially trained in this. This is a subject about which I understand only peripherally. I've yet to study this topic. I know that dogs have super olfactory abilities and a dog brain, a simple dog's brain, is far more sophisticated than any super-computer. I hope such training exists.

For the most part I have for years now ...stayed away from events with big groups of people in attendance..

A lot of this is just conditioning from working the back shifts for so long...I have thus been mostly sheltered from events with big crowds as I am in a reverse environment from most people out here...

less traffic...and fewer people around...


That is......until..............

I was transferred to day shift....now I am a day walker and it is a difficult adaptation in some regards.....particuarly traffic and crowds.

I particularly detest standing in long lines....including traffic lines..


But ...we shall have to adapt as best we can..

I can't believe I am a day walker now!!!!!!

I absolutely loathe being in a crowd. I hate standing in line to check-out at a store.

Today, I drove to another gas station due to a line at the place where I normally fill up. In small town America, there's a whole lot less traffic and crowds.

When traveling on an interstate, I get online and look for traffic congestion. I'll take side roads to avoid that crap. Heavy traffic is dangerous, but even if it were not dangerous, I'd still avoid that. I'm just totally averse to being one within a herd.

Taking the wife to a restaurant, if there's a line, then we're gone. We'll find a place to eat where we can just sit down, order, and be off to ourselves.

I don't hate people. When I find a good soul, we'll talk. Most folk however are hollow or at least shallow. Can't deal with that.

No patience for this kind of thing.

It is driven home to me ...now that I am on day shift with the rest of the herd...how protected from this madness I was for so many years...on the back shifts.

I was safe...I was on base!!!

When working actual industry, not industrial control eng. Quality Control, I loved 2nd shift. Genetically, I'm a night person. Too, I'm not much interested in the hoi polloi. Common is common. Nothing there to mine for precious nor semi-precious spiritual crystals. Who cares about inclusions and minor defects?! God doesn't, then why should I?! Even pretty rocks catch my attention.

Those who would "right the wrongs", who would correct intrinsic defects are on a doomed mission. Even the very Christ taught His followers to shun the lost.

Irrespective of the proposed law, one cannot change the damned when they themselves seek darkness. Free will is free will.

We the moral, we the armed, will resist those who chose darkness over Light. We will stop their aggressions. This, now and in those days when society collapses. It is a Greater Will we follow.
