I'm not sure I'd want to post any disabilities for everyone to see.

I believe many places have a system which allows you to contact 911 and tell them to note it in their computers in case a call is dispatched to your address.

    Here's an example:

    Good morning Snyper,

Like most all else, it's a trade-off. It comes down to someone making a decision. Typically and often enough, citizens don't make well-thought out decisions.

The emergency system / organizational infrastructure is not completely centralized as of now. All responses do not come from a central dispatch clearing house via a 911 call. The hearing disabled are not phone-users.

Interesting re your area. I know Pitts Cy, NC is metro Greenville and your area is/was set up to also address emergencies re the AFB near you. The base got famous when they had a nuc ord incident.

    ...

IMO, no reform can occur until:

    1. small political subdivisions like counties and small cities fade out of the scene regarding the big programs like emergency management / emergency medical (rural hospitals are too expensive), public safety and security.

    2. Those with disabilities requiring public sector support, eg someone living alone routinely using medical oxygen or a "shut-in" must relocate to an area - and facility - that can accommodate their situation. Medicare and Medicaid are insolvent.

    ...

The Tar Heels have a relatively new N.C. Prepper website: www.preppernet.com.

Seymour Johnson AFB is about 40-50 miles from my location.
It's about the same distance to the Marine/Naval air station at Cherry Point and Camp Lejuenne, and about 80 miles from Ft Bragg.

I'm about as far as one can be from Greenville and still be in Pitt County though.

    Good afternoon Lonewolf and Snyper,

    Agree.

    That's why I wrote I have a hearing-impaired sign - but don't display it.
