You know, I am beginning to wonder if our experiment in Democracy has about run its path out. The endless rights without responsibilities has created a people that just doesn't seem capable of seperating right from wrong or good from bad anymore. Our judicial system hands out punishments that are not even close to being in balance with the crimes. How is letting a murderer out of prison after just a few years justice for the life of an innocent person. People get more time in prison for marijuana than attempted murder!

They will prosecute a person for an honest accident that was done totally without malice and then turn out a gang thug that has beat some old person half to death for their pocket change. The criminals all carry guns even though it is against the law for a convicted felon to even possess a gun and the response is to take the guns away from the people that have never broken a law in their life.

Now I guess I will get to the heart of my rant. I read something yesterday that has really ticked me off at a near nuclear level! I no longer believe that we have enough sense to be free people. Parents have stopped parenting, schools have stopped educating and our governments no longer rule in a way that is reasonable and for the good of most of its citizens.

Some things are just WRONG. There should be no "right" to do wrong! Some things are so obviously wrong that anyone that can't see it should not be allowed to be free much less be in charge. I have always despised the violent video games that idiot parents and our government allow to pollute the minds of our children. Honestly I had thought that video games about war were not good for children's minds, The games where they are stealing cars and such have no value to me and the ones where you get to be an assassin and kill people for points was just sick. The latest video game goes past all of these though.

It is called “Active Shooter”. This wonderful video game allows your sweet child to experience the excitement and pleasures of going into a school and killing a bunch of innocent kids and then have a shoot out with the cops!

    https://www.inquisitr.com/4916830/a...ootings-called-tasteless-in-wake-of-santa-fe/

No kidding this is sick at an entirely new level. The thing that bothers me about it the most though is that our government thinks that it is OK and that there are parents that would see no problem with their kids playing this game. If you let your kids play this sort of thing the men should be castrated and the women spayed!! When are we going to say enough is enough? The freaking media makes these monsters into cult heroes for sick minds and The monsters get to be famous and get a lot of attention.

The names and faces of these monsters should never be spoken or shown. Don't make them famous. Don't make movies about them or turn them into some sort of sick examples for people that are mental and looking for attention.

That little monster that killed those kids in Santa Fe...Will be eligible for parole when he is 57!!!! That is the LAW. You can't give the death penalty OR Life without the possibility of parole to anyone that commits a crime, no matter how horrific, and are under the age of 18!!

AND NOW HE CAN BE IMMORTALIZED FOR HIS ACTIONS IN A VIDEO GAME!!!!

We the people no longer deserve our freedom. We have allowed our government and people to become rotted in spirit. As a people we have become too stupid and sick to self rule.

Good post Tex & I totally agree. The first part of your thread is Australia to a T! The only difference is that here we have already lost our freedom.
That video game should obviously be banned!

Whether I deserve freedom & Liberty, I'm taking it or I'm going out in a firefight.

As to national level, America is getting ready to get its butt kicked via natural events and or economic collapse. The major urban areas are cancers and I'm praying that God will burn them dead.

There are all manner of hell events coming due. The Western Nations have gone decades and decades without having any kind of apocalyptic event.

Look at how many hundreds of millions, billions maybe, of people who live right on the Pacific Ring of Fire! Millions have their investments backed in fiat currencies. Look at all the nations who have access to weapons of mass destruction.

    Ding, ding, ding! Time's up.

My family and I will get hurt during all of this, however I'm going to be beside myself with glee when I see the urbanites soil their pants.

I think most of the people go about their lives not even questioning whether or not they have freedom. Day after day they get up, go to work, come home & go to bed. That for them is life, the norm. I think it is very sad that most people are on a treadmill, their sole function is to keep the government in the lifestyle it has become accustomed to. I won't say this is our own fault, because I think for the most part, people on this forum are in a minority. But the loss of so many of our freedoms is down to the majority of the people simply not caring.
I read a very interesting article today written by a young lady regarding students campaigning for better treatment of people overseas. Her point was that there are people in need in their own country that need help. yet they do nothing, & the governments overseas don't give a dam about student protests in another country. Society today is totally screwed, societal problems are to blame for much of our crime, & the government is to blame for the societal problems!

An old saying that people don't seem to believe is, "The tree of liberty must often be watered with the blood of patriots to thrive." Basically that means that as soon as our enemies start to think that we are too weak or unwilling to fight they will come and take our freedom away. I suspect that stupidity as we are seeing it is actually a form of cowardice or lazyness.

It is sort of like raising kids. They will try to make getting them to do as you say more trouble than it is worth. I know that I could have mowed my yard easier myself than spend the day forcing her to get it done. BUT if you want a kid to learn and grow into a successful adult that is just a sacrifice that you have to make. The reason we still have our guns here in Texas and in most of the US is that there are a lot of us that are terminally serious when we say "You will get my gun when you pry my cold dead finger off the trigger!"

Sometimes freedom has a cost. Governments try to take it away in small chunks so people will accept it rather than revolt...Then one day they look up and realize that their freedom is an illusion. Their government is out of control, and there isn't a damn thing that they can do about it because they let their ability to resist be taken without a fight.

It seems to me that one of the tools that is being used against us is the degrading of our children's morals and ethical values. One of the things that made the USA great is that we didn't just fight for our freedom but often we fought for others freedoms or because it was just the right thing to do. It would have been easy to just let Hitler have France. Neither Great Britain nor the US owed France anything. France wasn't willing to fight for itself BUT we came and died by the thousands for their freedoms. Hitler would have loved to have Britton as an ally or even neutral. Honor means that you do what is right even if it isn't easy or sometimes what you want to do.

By eroding the souls of our children they are making us weak. Next time a monster arises, we will probably just shrug and decide it isn't our job to stop it. Altruism more than bravery is what keeps us free and that requires a person to have empathy and be able to feel another's pain. A heartless immoral person when confronted with another person being beat to death will say "What is in it for me? Why should I do anything?" and then walk away and never feel a moments guilt. I fear that these games are doing just that to our kids!!

I think that is exactly what has happened here, new laws were introduced because of the government's terror campaign, they told the people in the cities that there was now a great threat of terrorism. The people accepted this, the same as the gun control measures because the government told them it was for "Public Safety"!!! The people failed to see the other side of these new laws, they failed to see that these laws took away their rights as citizens. This has been happening little by little & the police can interpret these laws to suit their needs. What we have lost, including our guns, we will never get back by any peaceful action.

Freedom is a relative thing. I am about as free as I need to be. By living out in the country I am not subject to very many stupid rules. I think that because of where I live I see freedom in its various degrees more clearly than others elsewhere might. When you are connected to prisons you bebin to see that it is variable. Prisoners range from ones that live in a metal box 23 hours a day and then get to spend and hour in a walled in box with a cage top on it for an hour if they have been good and it isn't raining. On the opposite end of this are trustees that live in dorms that don't even have a fence around them. They drive trucks and are basically not under guard all the time. There are a lot of grades in between these two and even the little "freedoms" become important.

Compared to the situation where Keith and Lone Wolf live I am wildly free as far as my rights to defend and protect my familly. I am a lot freer in Texas than I would be in a lot of other states. What I see that is scary to me is that in the big cities even here people don't seem to care or hold their freedom as dear as I and people like me do. That is one of the AWFUL things about democracy. Even if a majority of people agree on something that does NOT make it right, good or smart!!!

There are hundreds of illegal firearms manufacturers in the Philippines. Here's a video of just one small machine-shop:

Here's some firearm manufacturing shops in Pakistan:

Maybe the good citizens of Australia need to be bringing in some toys that support TRUE VOTING.

You have heard this said a hundred times: There are only two forms of governance within the human species -- one is where the people fear the government, the other is where the government fears the people. In only the latter does Sacred Liberty exist.

Making a gun isn't a very hard thing to do if you have access to a machine shop and know what you need. Ammo is actually harder to make from scratch than the guns themselves. That is why I have a lot of unloaded cases for my various gun chamberings. You can even reload 22LR rimfires now. The thing is that all you need is a gun that will take down an enemy. That and a little stealthy planning will get you a better gun.

I don't class myself as being free, no. Freedom as I see it is being able to do whatever you want providing it does not in any way hurt other people or the environment. As it is there are just too many pointless & senseless laws & restrictions. Our government has too much power, making laws to suit itself which in turn takes away our/my human rights. If there were no government, & no law & order, I would have more freedom to exercise my human rights.

freedom is a relative term, we are free to do what we want, we aren't living in a dictatorship(not yet anyway)I believe the EU is more of a dictatorship than we want to admit, but we have to abide by certain laws and rules, if those laws and rules weren't there we would be living Without Rule of Law(WROL) and in the cities at least it would be anarchy and total mayhem, so some standards have to be maintained but those standards are slowly being eroded and our rights are being taken away but most of us don't notice it as we go about our daily lives.
    only time will tell.

Fully evolved humans need precious little governance. I wax socialist when it comes to education -- it is in everybody's interest to get as much information into children and young adults as possible. When there is educational funding via gambling, I purchase the cheap scratch-off cards -- if you lose, you don't, your money goes to buying books.

Rules, standards, those behaviors constituting civilized behavior are already well documented. We have the teachings of the world's Prophets in Holy books. We have the writings of good and humorous people throughout history. Being an American, I'm prejudiced in favor of the U.S. Constitution. Were one to actually follow this Constitution, government would be bounded.

The fly in the ointment for all civilizations is the presence of immoral lower-order humans -- people who can't be fixed.

People who won't learn, people who are unable to control their glandular activity, should be banished. If they return or rebel, shoot them. If bleeding-hearts rant about the lower-orders, then let the bleeding-hearts join the monsters ... away from civilized areas. The worst lot are people who wish to be in control for the purpose of "doing good". If you hear somebody say, "Let's do it for the children," you've met the true enemy of mankind.

the trouble I have found these days is that most people don't have an "off" switch, if you don't have a Police force or some such to make them obey the rules they tend to go over the top and then some.

I've often wondered what it would be like if there were no cops. I know that in general people would be more polite. People that acted like A$$hats would get killed. I know in the US on the occasions when the police went on strike the crime rates plummeted. The criminals, without the police protecting them, were scared to death.

People now days in a lot of places are just rude as hell. This is encouraged for some sick reason and admired by so many kids as cool. For some reason the kids in the US want to talk and act like a punk black street thug. Their music is filled with violent threats against women and cops and this is considered GOOD??? They call it ebonics and expect people to accept being talked to and threatened. Without the cops to protect them they would learn manners again.

As we have become more and more liberal the primary job of the police in America has shifted from protecting the innocent good people to ensuring the rights of criminals to do as they wish and the rights of people to act like thugs. I personally would give up the police and their near useless protection to be able to live in a world where people again acted in an honorable and respectful fashion. If people had to put their butts on the line when their mough overloaded it they would learn fast to just not run their heads.
