It is a decline in the rate of increase, not a decline in the total number.

I admire this Canadian Jordan Peterson, a respected clinician, he challenges the freedoms we are loosing and his videos run through social commentary to clinical lectures and more personal talks with people.

This video in my opinion. should be shown to all young kids who are jumping on the trans bandwagon; he breaks it all down in a way we can all understand, 16 minutes long and truly worth watching

I'm a big follower of Jordan Peterson. He has certainly had his own struggles. I heard a couple of months ago that his license had been revoked, basically for speaking the truth. I haven't heard anything since, so I'm not sure where he's at now, as far as getting it reinstated or not. He is such an inspiration.

As for evolution of mankind, "Houston We Have a Problem". Evolution is based on survival of the fittest or basically adapt or die. Mankind in the west has eliminated that issue by fostering all these social programs that allow the stupid and lazy people to thrive. I have no problem letting stupid people do stupid things that kill them off. When I rode motorcycles, I always wore a helmet but I opposed laws requiring the stupid to ware them. I always use my seat belts but again opposed laws requiring people to use them. I oppose almost all welfare programs, except to feed, house and provide medical care to seniors, the disabled, children and veterans. Able bodied people need to work (have some skin in the game) and not have the government (taxpayers) support them.

that attitude might have been okay (in the UK) say back in the 60s when there were more jobs and less people, we could walk out of a job on a Friday and start another one the following Monday, but these days there are too many people and not enough jobs, I have heard of 400 people applying for one vacancy, some vacancies have even more applicants, and many employers want younger people, if your over 40 and unemployed you have little chance of getting a job in modern Britain, I know I have been there, thats another reason I went self employed.
and of course these days you have minimum wage and zero contracts which we didnt have when I was working.
it is true we need more Nurses, Doctors and Dentists but it takes many years to train these.
a Doctor needs to train for a minimum of 5 years but they still continue training for anything up to 8-10 years, and doctors are still few and far between in rural areas, most want to work in big city hospitals.

You proved my point LW. You had difficulty finding a job in the marketplace, so you created your own employment. You had enough pride and a desire for a better life, so you found a way to stay free from the government hand outs. Smart people live within their means and set aside money for the bad times. Smart people develop skills that are in need. No jobs types are ever phased out over night, the writing is always on the wall for those that are wiling to see it. In America we have families that are four generation into the welfare system and yet they all have cable TV, cell phones and internet service. Many if not most are obese and have no idea how to grow food or have any desire to learn. It does take a long time for Doctors and nurses to learn their skills but they will always have employment. Trades people go through 4 to 5 year apprenticeship programs to learn their trade and will continue updating their skills for the rest of their lives, through various training programs. The unskilled and many white collar workers do get laid off / terminated when their skills become obsolete or automation can do the job faster and cheaper. Companies have no loyalty to their employee's, so employees should not have any loyalty to the company. I changed employment every three to four years, as I was always seeking more money and better raises. I learned plumbing, electrical, metal working, computers systems, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) and Overhead door installation and repair. Have I ever become unemployed, you bet but I never went on welfare. Even when I had fulltime employment, I was finding side jobs to increase my income. I don't say these things as a brag but as a point that there are ways to stay off the dole. Yes, once you hit more of an advanced age, companies will not be interested in hiring you. So like you in the past LW, I have started my own business. I will never be rich, I don't have the drive for it but I will never miss any meals either and I will never be on welfare. The government started the welfare system as an emergency safety net for people when shyte happen. I had no problem with that concept. Now it has become a life style for too many.

in Britain we pay taxes known as National Insurance , this is taken out of our wages or salary as a deduction along with other taxes, this ensures that when we become unemployed we become eligible for benefits providing we qualify, I have had to apply for this several times due to finishing contracts in the construction industry and some time before I found another building site, I got fed up of this and went self employed as a gardener -a trade which I really enjoyed.
you are correct though, I have heard of and come across many families where several generations dont work or has ever worked, I'm not sure how they milk the system as its not that easy and the rules can be strict.
I heard of many women who just got pregnant to qualify for benefits, it's not that easy for males.

We have what is called unemployment insurance. Like you, we pay into it and I don't consider that welfare. Just like car insurance you pay for it and you collect it when the situation arises. Just like our Social Security insurance, we pay for it and it is not freebie program. I think the UK. has a pension plan similar to our S.S.. Like you, I have also had / needed to apply for unemployment and never felt bad about it either, since I had paid a bundle into it. The construction industry is very hit and miss with regards to employment. That was one of the reasons I moved away from Rollup Door installation / repairs and got into facility maintenance. It paid just as well and was steady. As my body started to object to all the physical labor, I started to move into management. I did not enjoy that work as much but my body certainly approved of it. LOL Since I am not a people person, I found it to my advantage to change employers every couple of years. I got bigger pay increases and had less involvement in company politics. I have zero tolerance for corporate B.S. I was never a career employee. Get in, get it done and get the heck out of there. The only drawback to constantly changing employers is you don't build up a pension plan. That I had to do on my own and 2008, really screwed me over. Lost most of my investments. Another live and learn situation. Between divorces, relationship breakups and bad investments, I am not as well off as I should be. Such is life in the big city. LOL I will keep on plugging away.

Plenty of jobs going in the UK but two problems, many youngsters won't take on manual work, shop work etc and too many youngsters are reading degrees in absolutely useless subjects that won't provide a career path and good income...what the UK does have is a skills shortage.

Instead of pushing kids who are not the sharpest pencils in the box off to college to learn things like basic computer skills we should be training them to be bricklayers/plumbers/chippies/sparks/gas fitters who earn a good living.

If you like Peterson take a look at Douglas Murray, his arguments are strong and very well delivered

Worth looking at his works section here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_Murray_(author)

The coming SHTF events will cull-out the genetic inferiors.

Previous evolutionary times often favored the most strong. During the coming SHTF phase, stupid people and the insufficiently unarmed will die-off. They will perish. Matters are as the are. There's nothing I will, nor can do, to prevent this dark reality. They chose to be weak; thus, they chose to die.

Those who cheat, those who do not follow dictatorial laws will survive. I will trade with those who cherish the United States Constitution. The rest can/will just die. Stupid = fatal. Welcome to reality.

What could I do about this?! Answer = Nothing. I am only what I am and nothing more. I recognize my station, my lowly station. There is NO pretending-away reality.

That which is coming is the next DIE-OFF.

Numerous religions/ Prophets have predicted these times. That humanity has turned its face on The Creator is what it is. The Farmer is going to burn His fields.

Absolutely. I remember when I was a kid, tradies were frowned upon and thought of as being less than everyone else. Well, haven't times changed! Tradies are now seen as essential, useful members of society who are not only specialist trained, but who earn mega bucks. Established, successful tradies live in mansions over here. Maybe a slight exaggeration, but they certainly have great properties that others envy.

The most lucrative tradies over here are generally sparkies and dunny divers. They can pull some serious dough.

I would guess that "Sparkies" are electricians. But I really don't know what a Dunny Driver" is. Here in the USA, the top paying trade is 'Elevator Repair Technician / Installer". They earn more than any other trade I am aware of. An apprentice can earn a 6 figure income. Their apprenticeship runs from 5 to 6 years.

I used to encourage youth to go to college. Not anymore. Now I recommend trade school.

Our youngest was dyslexic so we encouraged him to go to trade school. He did. Now he's got a great job with a company that does planning and engineering work to build/repair infrastructure projects such as dams, bridges, new hospitals, small town updating of water and effluent lines, ..., the big projects that were put off way too long (i.e. self-destructed due to aging-out) and now MUST be repaired. Such jobs have benefits such as health care, credit unions, vacation leave time, sick time, ... .

TMT: (can't reply in your post)

Yes, you are correct. A sparkie is an electrician. A dunny diver is a plumber (because they dive (maybe not literally) in dunnies to clear blockages, etc).
