Some people find the idea of having a first aid kit at home a little overdone... While others find this mmeasure something very essential (especially when there are children at home). What do you think of this? Is it really an exaggeration or just a form of precaution?

I think care is never too much, and health always has to come first (no matter what... no matter how)... So, it's definitely something that I have in my house. ;)

I would have thought that every home would have a first aid kit.

Same here! I thought it is common sense :p just like having one in your car is obligatory... or at least in our country. We even have more than one first aid kit at our house. You can't really have too many since you never know what might happen. They aren't expensive and can easily save a life.

Luckily though, we never had to use one so far. If you don't own one then please buy it!

As I sit here typing I even have an abbreviated First aid kit in a pack on my belt...the cars have first aid kits, eyewash, fire extinguishers etc...the bathroom cabinet is a massive antique first aid kit out of an old factory restocked with sterile dressings, painkillers and medi preps

I actually do have a first aid kit at home! It's not much though but it does the job quite alright.

One thing to remember about first kits is that as long as you have the bare essentials in your first aid kit, it will do the job just fine. So if you don't have a first aid kit yet, come up with one as it's very easy to do and it might save someone's life in the future!
