I certainly has been interesting watching this crap show and the various irrational but predictable human behaviors on all sides of this pandemic.

"Back in July, Yale University began a critical study on COVID vaccines.

"But there was an interesting twist to Yale’s study: scientists weren’t looking at the actual vaccine candidates; instead they were studying how to most effectively convince people to take a vaccine.

"One of the things they tested, in fact, was how guilt, embarrassment, and negative social stigma could pressure people into taking a vaccine, even if they have doubts or concerns about it.

"In other words, the study examined if shaming people would be an effective way to compel everyone to take a COVID vaccine.

"CNN ran a story in early AUGUST, for example, entitled, 'Covid-19 conspiracy theories: 6 tips on how to engage anti-vaxxers'.

"This is the perfect illustration of pre-shaming.

"There was practically zero data on any vaccine candidate back in August. Yet the luminaries at CNN had already decided that anyone who expressed concern was a conspiracy theorist.

"And now that some vaccines have received emergency authorization, tactics have moved from pre-shaming to full blown rage and intimidation.

"Fines and jail time are now being openly discussed in the United States, Europe, Australia, etc. And many prominent companies in the private sector have piled on, proposing rules that could forbid unvaccinated customers from airplanes or hotels.

"I recently read an editorial in a British paper that went so far as to suggest that unvaccinated people should potentially be brought up on murder charges."

I must have missed the UK newpapers mentioning imprisonment or being charged with murder. I think we'll see restrictions on those who refuse the jab, foreign travel-no jab no entry (fine by me) and Quantas has said no jab - no fly again I support that and I'd guess other will follow. Why should airline crew be put at risk and if someone has a condition where they can't use a mask perhaps they should not be flying anyway. Europe has around 450m and UK about 65m to inoculate so its not going to be easy or fast but comes the end of next summer things should have gotten a lot better.

Any of you guys listen to Tom Cruise letting rip at some film crew who were not following the rules, it was brilliant, well done that man. Its reported 5 of the crew have left well to be honest if these snowflakes did what they had to do they would have been no bollocking of TC and he's better off without them.

    https://www.tmz.com/2020/12/17/tom-cruise-covid-rant-mission-impossible-crew-members-quit/

Five (so far) crew members working on the set of "Mission Impossible 7" quit after Tom Cruise's latest tantrum. He actually torqued almost everyone on the set. Those who were not angered were shocked / couldn't get their arms around his level of loss of emotional control.

So now Cruise, Scientology follower/wanna-be Scientology cult leader, has left the movie set early, ostensibly to celebrate the Christian holiday of Christmas.

    https://www.news.com.au/entertainme...t/news-story/c5e5bf23d4b6c6d9c86e8e5537017631

It's very understandable how a tantrum-throwing Max Fri##er would respect a little boy like Tom Cruise.

Sh##, damnit, Wolfy, I'm sitting here laughing. You've caused me to lose my concentration yet again! :D:D:D:D Damnit! Got to stop giggling, Old Geezer! :D:D Get your sh## together, geezer.

Y'know, since Hollywood is in full panic mode, maybe they should just stop filming anything whatsoever. Since Hollywood blacklists conservatives, i.e. adults, all of their movie and television products are unbearable to watch. Movies out of that place are now -- and have been for some years now -- all puerile or vulgar (vulgar sexy).

Hopefully, when God does a Sodom & Gomorrah remake on California, this lower-order "culture" will be wiped out. Maybe the Big Guy has already told Mother Nature to do some serious housekeeping on that coastal area. I mean hey, She's burned-off a bunch of ants living in Her Pacific Coast tinderbox forests. Maybe earthquakes, tsunamis, and the rupturing of that continental subduction area will be next. If my children were to have ever cursed me, I would have slapped them down -- my kids were smart enough to remember their previous spankings, therefore I never had to go Biblical on them. I never smarted-off to my dad because, even as a kid, I knew that other men respected him (i.e. were afraid of him).

The people of California have given God "the bird". Not good for one's Karma. They are doomed.

Go God !!! Do what you have to do, oh Lord. Let the righteous leave, then snap the spines of the idolators. I want to be able to hear their backs break all the way over to this eastern side of the Mississippi.

He was being a self-centered child, just like you maxine. Are you male or female? You are mightily bitchy. Men usually aren't like that. Most women are not like that, especially prepper ladies who possess the wisdom to not trust Borg government to protect them. If you are a male human, then you sure did take after your mom. Maybe your dad was out of the picture or emotionally constipated. Your mom was clingy/protective, wasn't she. It shows in how you turn to big Mommy government to protect you. Around what part of your anatomy did your mother tie her apron strings? Did you join the military to get away from the sickness in your family? You are trying to be good to your son because your daddy was "not there". Good for you, maxine; maybe you will inevitably grow a pair. Maybe when England & Europe go under, you'll wake up / grow up. We don't care. Preppers can't worry about the herd.

Too, you could be an AI computer that automatically spews pre-programmed anti-this / anti-that crap; there is zero depth to your wording. You write on a high school level. If you are AI, then tell your programmer to do better. Currently you are inadequate, Hal.

I just hope that in their rush to put this vacine out that we don't end up with something like the thalidomide mess. Thalidomide was introduced in the late 1950s and widely marketed as a safe, over-the-counter sleep sedative. THEN women that had taken it started having babies with flippers instead of normal arms and legs. It hit people in Europe worse than in the US because they had put it on the shelves sooner than it was put out in the US. It had TERRIBLE effects on the babies of pregnant women that had taken in and thousands were affected. This vaccine is being put out without the normal checks and tests for longterm side effects. the odds are very small that any adverse side effects will be even 10% as bad as the effect of not using it but if it were to go BAD it could be a nightmare.

Old Geezer, you could just put Max on ignore, as he is obviously NOT a prepper and only comes on the forum to gripe and complain and to post comments opposite to what is being discussed it dosent make much difference if you read them or not.
as moderator I dont think I can allow the "tit for tat" remarks between you 2 to continue, it could adversely affect the forum and stop new members from joining.
I therefore suggest you just ignore any further remarks from that quarter.

    Thalidomide was not a vaccine.

Thalidomide is now used for treating cancer.

The Thalidomide tragedy led to the formation of the FDA to ensure proper trials and testing of other drugs

Covid vaccine is not being give to pregnant women until further research has been carried out

Testing done on the available vaccines is as good as any other, we threw more money into its development.

Look at the science not the panic merchants on social media.

Carefully, using camera angles, using cast that have been 'bubbled' for a couple of weeks and are virus free; their safety is put at risk by sloppy film crew so TC did the right thing.

They can test all they like, many tests have thrown up false positives and false negatives, the whole testing thing is a farce, better to put off filming until they've all been vaccinated....if that is their wish.

Since when is movie / TV production an essential business? Close down Hollywood until the rest of the country is re-opened. No indoor dining, no movie making.

I would say that the movie/TV industry is essential in the middle of a global pandemic. People need a break from lockdown etc, need to chill out and watching a film is 90 minutes where they can put the pandemic out of their minds.

There is no need to put productions on hold IF the cast and crew follow the rules and if they can't or won't then kick them out. They'll struggle to find work after, try explaining why you could not follow the rules and put others at risk or how you couldn't cope with nasty Tom shouting at me boo hoo hoo.

Lets be honest these crews earn good money and you'd think they want to continue earning...idiots.

Millions of movies already in the can, no need for new movies to aid the mentality and emotionally weak minded. If people can't handle the pandemic, then they are most certainly not going to be able to handle a real SHTF event. The entertainment industry is NOT an essential industry except to the wimps of the world.

Great way of looking at ordinary people there TMT...only joking mate, its a bloody awful thing to say and shame on you. Given the high levels of fear shown by some members here a lot a preppers won't be able to handle the reality of a real SHTF event where they have to leave the fantasy island (forum) they they live on and declare how great and strong they are.

And there are not millions of movies in the can, stupid comment there. Happy xmas, keep strong.

Max, the USA movie industry has been making movies since at least the 1920's. Add in all the other foreign countries that have been making and canning movies and it is easy to factor in millions. In the early movie days, feature films were made in less than a week. You also failed to account for the foreign movie industry. Note: it is very hard to film a love scene and maintain social distance. Movie production violates the CCP virus protocols. AGAIN, NOT and essential business / industry, except for the wimps and sheeple that require to be entertained and lack the ability to entertain themselves.

Ordinary people are sheeple and will get sheared when a true SHTF event hits. Why should I or any other prepper care about them? The sheeple are the modern "Walking Dead" they just refuse to see it. Preppers do not owe the sheeple anything. Wimps and human ostriches (sheeple with head hibernating in their backsides) are just part of the predator /scavenger menu. Time to grow a pair MATE.

Foreign movies? I'm all for a good asian horror, bit of Bollywood (I love bhangra music) and the occasional Scandanavian film noir but as a rule I prefer English language films so there are not a million movies available to the bulk of the Western world to enjoy.

You say new content is not essential but it is really, mental well being for those who don't get their kicks shooting guns or planning on how they will rule IF they survive a SHTF event LOL

I bet there are a lot of preppers these days who are thankful for those stupid sheeple who are doctors and nurses who saved the preppers bacon because he was too dumb to social distance, wash hands and wear a mask.

If it ever hit the fan you'd thank the lord for medics/teachers/technicians/mechanics et al who survive and will help you survive, you will grow to love these sheeple in double quick time as you flounder in the brave new world. If an event happened I think you'd be amazed at the skills these sheeple you look down on now actually have and their strength and resilience will see them through.

Strikes me that many preppers seem to lack the social wherewithal to fit in with the new society.

How on earth is it essential? There are literally thousands of things to do, with adequate social distancing, that do not involve movies, television of any description, guns, or the end of the world.
There are so many things to do alone, then add immediate family it's even more. They can learn something, do something, take up a hobby that doesn't involve sitting on their over fed behind in front of the TV. And before you get on your high horse as you are so good at - I know first hand because I don't even own a television anymore. Perhaps if they partook in family activities like games and hobbies together rather than ignoring each other in front of television and cell phones we might have better families.

Also as a matter of interest, if you take 500 000 as the number of movies in existence, which is a figure that comes up often. And you take that 40 minutes is the minimum to be classified as a movie... well do the math yourself but I will tell you that comes out to 38 years worth of watching television every minute of every day. So no, we are no about to run out of things to watch if they stop filming new movies for a year.

Do share what this "new society" is going to look like. As we are, as stated, preppers, we should begin to prepare to fit in then shouldn't we?

Why should I as a prepper have to fit in with any sheeple society, I have little or nothing to do with people in the here and now and post SHTF I will be too busy doing what I have to do to worry about any of them, post SHTF they are on their own and good luck to them.
What "new society" would that be anyway? once this civilisation goes down the pan it will be many decades even a century or more before anything meaningful comes along and no one knows what form that might take, in any case by that time all of us on this forum will be dust.

Medics, Teachers, Doctors and Nurses are all on the front line in any emergency/SHTF, Hospitals and other places where people congregate will be the last place any prepper will want to go at this time , such professions as this will be the first to go in a SHTF situation just because they ARE on the front line.just look how many NHS staff have been lost to Covid 19, the same will apply in other catastrophe's too.(one tenth of the workforce at this very moment are either off work sick or self isolating).
in a TEOTWAWKI situation people are going to be alone and vulnerable, if someone cannot look after themselves without relying on outside help-whatever that help might be- doctors, nurses, care staff, delivered food, oxygen cylinders, dialysis, cancer treatment, drugs from the pharmacy, etc.etc. then their life time is limited, I learned a long time ago there is only one person that has the interests of us at heart and that is ourselves, the only person that will keep you safe is you yourself and only you.
of course someone who believes "nothing bad will happen" and laughs at the very idea of PREparing will never understand this, but preparing for bad events is as old as time itself.

I've said it before, guess you missed it...watching a show/film is a way for people to chill out and take their mind of things, its good for mental health. Your figures mean nothing, people won't sit and watch ancient film for a start and new content may be more relevant to the times we live in. It may have skipped the news channels over the pond but mental health services are under immense pressure in most countries so anything we can do to help people will be welcome do you not think?

So you want to shut down the industry, how do you feel about shutting down bars and eateries which carry a very high infection risk? Is it OK to let them carry on infecting tens of thousands of people but its wrong for a movie star to highlight the behavior of a film crew?

When people go into clinical depression/anxiety mode they ain't going to wake up one day and think "Oh...I'll take up a new hobby" are they.

So given your advanced years you won't be around long after a major event? You may think your a loner but in reality you'd be thankful for any help offered by the skilled folk you deride. Loners will not survive long term on their own, certainly in the UK.

    Good afternoon Lonewolf and Rebecca,

Don't waste your time or cyberspace dealing with the impervious.

I currently work with doctors and dentists in field settings. Only a few physicians and dentists will make it SHTF.

This is why it is important for Preppers to learn how to address their own specific health care needs and do so.

There are so many Hong Kong (it is in Asia) movies in English ... life spans are too short for all.............

Max, you do realize don't you that in a post-apocalyptic world people that only criticize and act like an ass will end up as someone's dog food don't you. I give you about 10 days if you act like this in the real world but most trolls are actually mice in a face-to-face world. At least you won't have to starve to death waiting with the sheeple for a handout. As far as I can tell all you do is come in and criticize others instead of trying to actually contribute anything. You are basically a troll and so I for one am going to block your posts since they offer nothing but misinformation and criticisms of this board and its members.

Back to the thoughts about immunizations...I am expecting to shortly be offered an immunization shot and am a little worried about it but will take it. I will be in an early group because of my kidneys and my being on dialysis. I personally am not in too bad of a shape but a lot of the people that I see three days a week are already near death's door and they would no doubt not survive covid-19. Dialysis has been like a resurrection for me!! I actually feel good most of the time now and it has been a cure for the pernicious anemia that has been so hard on me for the last few years.

I wonder if after I have had the immunization and it has taken hold if I will still have to wear that danm mask. There will not really be any reason for it. I will neither be able to catch nor give anyone covid so I should be able to go without it. They should give people a badge or pin to wear instead of a mask so people will know that you are safe to be around at least as far as covid 19 is concerned.

The masks are mostly a political thing. As most people wear them, they are no protection and not a lot of protection for the other people that they are around. Because of where I go three days a week I get to watch people that are really sick trying to breathe and they have a hard time with the masks. A lot of them end up on oxygen at least in part because of the masks. If you wear them right they several restrict your breathing in part because the ones they want you to use in the dialysis center are probably a lot better than the ones that most people wear. Honestly to me, they are more restrictive than the N-95 masks that actually do protect you and the people around you.

Max is a professional troll. He is not a prepper. He is this site's home invader. I had him on ignore, however his aggressions are not just against me. If someone breaks into my home or the home of my friends, then I do my best to kill that person. To not oppose an invader is capitulation. It is a victory for the damned. Why is a troll given the status of being a valid member? Illegal aliens are deported. This person or machine is given permission to perpetually insult us, yet we are not allowed to return the favor? England has opened its doors to invaders -- is this also true of this website?

I never said I wouldnt be around for a long time yet, "advancing years" maybe in Sheeple terms that is true but preppers are a different breed, we have a different attitude to life than the masses.
Loners will live just as long as any group-I have had this conversation many times over the years- it all depends on attitude and skills.

Television and or movies are a necessary product to be on the marketplace and particularly for government/The Deep State as it is a necessary even very important tool to control the "Herd." To prevent individual thinking...emotions, behaviors.

    Amuse...Amusement.....

    A .....Without

    Muse....Thinking....,

    Without Thinking...Amuse/Amusement.

Something fed to us to prevent thinking.,..,

If you know certain things you can easily spot these people with primarily a television and or movie education ...simply because when you ask them a very deep question requiring deep thinking....they so often quote a movie or television program they have seen in lieu of individual experience or individual thinking...,

    These people have someone else's thoughts..someone else's emotions....someone else's Values...and know it not...

They have little to no individual experiences or thoughts...and believe because they saw it on TV or in the movies it is reality.....

Do you know these people???? Think about that...and what is worse.........These people are voters..

These people are Ishmaelites and know it not...you make a much better voter when you have primarily a television and or movie education.....
Think it through ..if you even can....it fits...

Someone else is controlling them and they know it not..

This is why Hollywood and television are essential....when so many others are not ....control of the "Herd."

Wake up from your Television and or movie induced slumber.....

Be Warned the Ishmaelites.......wanting to put you into bondage with Xerox like thinking....push 50 and you get 50 copies of the same olde Ishmaelite nonsense...

Thinking on an Individual level can be very hard...even difficult and many of us avoid it for a lifetime...
    Being responsible even harder..

It can be much easier and more comfortable for many to let the television and or movie do our thinking for us...and thus feel we are moral and ethical because we watch movies and television and buy the advertised products.

And Max....in textbook leftist Practice...you leave out half the thinking....a lot of non preppers in particular will not be able to handle it without a lot of someone else taking the risk out of life for them....breastfeeding them from their supplies...

I do not want these people around me good times or bad....high maintenance.

Agree with Texdanm about the Thalomide Babies so many years ago....many today do not remember that history but I do..

Also I remember more recent when there was an very Adverse reaction across this country to the Swine Flu Vaccination ....among so many who took it...
I'm not sure Max remembers that history about the Swine Flu but I do.
Do any of you remember what the "Experts of those days" said about riding on the Titanic????

I have not taken a flu vaccination since.....and choose to ride it out.....should I get it.

As I am so oft want to say.....so many of us know so little history ..but know every nonsense pushed on Television and or movies...the gods of sports et al....all nonsense to me.

But I remember the Thalomide babies and also the very adverse reaction of so many to the Swine Flu Vaccination some time back.

    Be Warned the Ishmaelites.

I don't think that I have a lot of choice about taking the vaccine. I spend too much time around people that probably wouldn't survive it so I will take it more for their protection than mine. There have always been side-effects to things. They have been mostly bad...maybe this time the side effects will be good and POOF I will return to my 20-year-old health and looks! Hey, the power of positive thinking you know...

there is always a choice about vaccine, do or dont its all a personal choice.
I tend to be a bit of a recluse and stay away from other people, during the Pandemic apart from the supermarket once every 3 or 4 weeks and we go early when not many in the store, the rest of the time I stay close to home.
I dont trust the covid vaccine-whichever one it is- they have all been rushed, normally it takes 10 years in the UK to bring a new vaccine to the market what with testing and licencing, these ones took about 10 MONTHS, and we have been told by UK govt the makers are exempt from any legal proceeding if a serious side effect occurs, that alone is suspicious, so no thanks.

I don't feel like I have a lot to lose and am willing to take it if for no other reason than to NOT have to wear a mask.

I dont trust it, I'm not an anti vaxxer, I just dont trust these new vaccines, they are untried on the general public and no one has done a long term study on possible side effects because they are so new.

with an anti anything preparedness attitude like yours you'll last about 5 minutes post SHTF along with the rest of the plebs.
anyone professing to be leaders will be the first to be put up against the wall and shot by the Anarchy/BLM/ Woke brigade (or more likely hacked to bits with a machete).

Yes, I am rather certain that your stated actions would be the SOP in this situation.

If after one shot, he became staggered & dropped his sharp metal thingy, then you help him to get to the side of the road, "Sir, it seems you have been injured mightily, let me assist you to the comforting cool grass beside this fair road." Once you got him out of the roadway, you could then put one through his skull. An immobile human body can cause one back injury when attempting to drag it to the nearest ditch. One must consider such matters.

The ammunition you save could go toward correcting the behavior of any of his unfortunate companions. Life is rife with moments of edification, pleasant and otherwise. Wonders never cease; could it not be that you are now afforded the position of providing them rare epiphany even on such a cloudy day. When one is armed with God's approbation, Justice can flow in through the smallest of openings between the darkest of clouds.

The great thing about a 12 ga shotgun is that if you make a main body hit you don't have to assist them to the ground. If done right there is only one side of the story told when the cops get there.

I was thinking about a situation wherein the police would not be involved. Dead weight is a burden to drag -- and with a bad back, it's twice as bad. Dad said to only wound dogs and let them run off and die somewhere else. He had just demonstrated the procedure on a cur.

Chinacovid being blamed for ALL respiratory deaths. Thus, there are no flu deaths these days (chortle-chortle ). If you die of bacterial pneumonia or seasonal flue, then your death instantly becomes another Chinacovid tragedy caused by evil conservatives.

    https://21stcenturywire.com/2020/12...in-san-diego-prompted-audit-of-covid-records/

"DeMaio explained, 'if you are going to use a set of numbers like COVID stats to shut down the economy, to take people’s livelihoods away, then we have to really look closely at what those numbers really mean, and whether those numbers are giving us the right picture.' Continuing, 'my concern has been from the get go, that we are relying on numbers from government agencies, that may have a different agenda at stake. We would benefit from having a different set of eyes looking at them, such as an auditor or a citizens review committee. Because again, the decisions being made on these data sets are sweeping, the lockdowns are far reaching in terms of their impact.'”

Where have I said I'm anti preparedness? I've taken to prepping like a duck to water I just don't go with the BS side of it; I am realistic and practical by nature and by actions; prepping is perfect for someone like me. Next project I'm looking into is a water bladder in the roof for water storage.

Mr. I am a Leader, you can't put a water bladder in the roof, not enough space between the roofing material and the support structure. You can store a water bladder in the ATTIC space but at over 8 pounds per gallon, I would not want to be under that attic. By the time you re-enforce the attic space (top and bottom), plumb a water distribution (piping) system and set up a leak detection system (bladders can develop leaks), it would not be cost effective. But heck, as a natural born Leader, you should already have researched and known these basic points.

Just let maxtard go with dangerous ideas. Even if he's got an idea that could get him killed, tell him that he is utterly brilliant. Most guys would, if being totally honest with themselves and others, admit that they like watching those videos wherein stupid people do stupid things resulting in their death. I'd pay $50 to see a photo of maxorrhoid lying in a soaking wet bed, ceiling drywall pieces all about, and a broken 2" x 6" sticking through his guts.

There is a massive variety of building types across the UK, as there is in the US...without specific knowledge of a buildings design, placement of load bearing walls, pitch of roof etc it is impossible to say what can and can't be done.
One of the houses that I lived in in my youth had a huge water tank constructed of slate with steel ties in the attic space....go figure.o_O

Water is heavy, about a pound per pint, best not to store it in Attics or more likely Roof Spaces in the UK because of the weight problem, but then a REAL prepper would already know that and not have to be told. thats a newbie mistake.

Nearly every pre 1970's home in the uk had a water storage tank in the attic space used to equalise water pressure in the home

Indeed...water of any quantity in a roof or attic space is heavy....making me wonder why one would choose to put a hot water heater there. Definitely one would need a leak off system to allow any leak from the heater to be shunted outside....not into your ceilings and or insulation/wiring...but this can be done..

And yes...a roof bladder system would need much support....and probably also protection fro UV rays of the sun.

But it could be done depending on the quantity of water intending to be stored..

As to how long it would last...now that is debatable...

Early days yet, lots to think about, like how much weight by roof timber can take before I'd need to re-enforce it etc. A 5000l bladder/pillow weighs in at around 5.5 short tons (US) / 4.9 long tons (UK) so its a lot of weight but well distributed.

They come in various quality of build so you go for one that will last, most come with a pressure relief valve fitted and the idea would be to have it inline from the mains supply then feeding the house cold water in normal times. I'd need a fast drain valve fitted too on the off chance they develop leak. An old army pal has linked me up with a guy in Manchester who did this back in 2007 and had no issues with the system and he's doing a little video to show me his setup, how he put it together, how he tests the water quality etc. I recently got a 17l Big Berkey 4 element water purifier which to be honest I've not played with yet.

Looks to be a very doable project and won't break the bank. If for any reason I don't go the bladder route there is storage tank options but the bladder will be tidier I feel and its gravity fed; if I go with underground tanks you need to be looking at pumps etc which all need power.

Yes indeed ....some 5000 liters works out to close to 10,000 lbs...and indeed such weight needs to be distributed..

A tank/bladder that big you need a vent not only for pressurization but also a vent to empty it....a high point vent.
Most tanks empty much much easier if they are vented....if you cannot pressurize them.

Don't know as for how much pressure such an bladder is designed..but have seen tanks designed for some 40 to 60 psi of head pressure on them....these are thick steel tanks..

Interesting project....10,000 lbs is not exactly petty cash...that is a lot of weight...and yes indeed..it would have to be well distributed..
