These poor quality ones might arrive at the discount stores as distress merchandise and possibly serve a Prepper's non medical requirements -eg campfire meetings of 9 or less.

Above link tells of an in-development mask with fluorescent lighting when exposed to COVID virus.

Can guess that this is an enhancement for tracking/tracing especially when combined with face-recognition software.

Can also guess that a mask of some sort will become part of routine attire when going out. The fashion-conscious will also wear a face shield.
