    Good morning all,

Article re the British funerals but believe the upstart colonies here will parallel this cost reduction.

Much excess money goes to non-productive economic activity.

When the national economies are restructured, watch where the improvements get started. It won't be in Cuba.

As an aside, I'm waiting for an end to jury trials here on this side of the pond. There aren't many already but the admin costs are still there.

This is a very very slippery slope and many people do not know what it means...even people who have served on a jury.

There are two basic types of courts.....those whose verdicts are made by a jury..of peers..and those which are administrative in nature....meaning a judge/administrator makes the guilty/innocent verdict.

You do not want to do away ever with jury trials...

This simply because all too often ...administrators/judges area politically appointed ...not by the public per se.

You do not want an Administrator...deciding certain cases...ever.....they will all to often go pro for the state...not for the people....simply because they are all too often political appointees....not representative of the public interest but the social/political interests which are not the same thing. Ishmaelites.

Be Warned of getting rid of jury trials.

    Good morning Watcherchris,

I think it's already happened less the final touches and some indirect pronouncement documents.

You're right, most adjudications today are administrative law courts of the executive branch. Similar at state level; small claims courts, traffic courts, juvenile courts.

Grand juries, less the name, left the scene ages ago.

I believe even the prep for jury trials in Federal system yields some number like a pretrial settlement with ~97% win for Federal prosecutors. The current LTG Flynn case is an example.

Government types do not like jury trials...particularly a jury of informed/educated jurors..who know more than the average person about the law.

They prefer Ishmaelites...emotional drama queen Ishmaelites on a jury.

    Good afternoon Watcherchris,

True, but believe the Ronald Reagan trial re that mentally ill guy who shot Reagan at Washington Hilton, who's parents retired to Williamsburg, was the cake's icing. The jury said he was mentally incompetent. It had nothing to do with Reagan trying to reform welfare programs.

Had forgotten to mention this AM that the big trend in employment, less private sector labor unions (~ 10% of unionized labor force), requires arbitration and no judicial trials.

Funerals are a bit of a too-painful topic.
