Sometimes the best part of an article is the comments section. Just this past week, I posted a link to an article, was going to include a copy of one of the comments, then promptly forgot to do so. Dang! The comment was short, succinct, beyond brilliant, and as cynical as cynicism gets. I was soooo very happy that someone had the brains to get that bit of wisdom in there. The comment got a bunch of positive rating so it stuck in the "Best" category.

As to Sweden's growing Middle Eastern conflicts, I would feel sorry for the Swedes, however I do not. With their adolescent naivete votes, these socialists brought into their cities the mechanism of social destruction witnessed today. Once upon a time, Sweden was held-up as a glowing example as to how socialism could lead to utopian conditions -- it was the golden "city upon a hill".

I myself would readily state that socialism could work. "Wouldn't be nice" if people were nice. "Let's say" every human grew up to be fully human and really smart and not greedy and not lustful and, and, and, ... we could all hold hands and sing "Kumbaya"! Our species is in no way given to those qualities given the gene pool we currently have with which to work. Making the false assumption that this nation has the necessary genetic capabilities for some utopia on Earth ends up with the result of lots of people being injured and killed. Simply read the weekend death tolls of our inner-cities' third-world conflicts.

We here in America witness the Swedish/socialist phenomenon surrounding our urban areas. Left-wing suburbanites vote-in Social Democrats. These socialist city councils kowtow to the urban rioters who spill into the 'burbs. This results in windows getting smashed and the orks demanding that they abandon their homes in a great purging spasm of redistribution.

The only thing I would do for such suburbanites is recommend which firearms and ammunition they should acquire to keep their homes from being overrun. The rioting may look like chaos to others, however to me this is all somewhat pleasant. Leftists are learning about the violent nature of their fellow travelers and the orks are getting ready to learn about high velocity lead poisoning.

Our nation got through its "Great Depression" of the 1930's (actually, the USA has a depression every 50 or so years, how soon we forget!, we are WAY overdue for a good one now). I do not think that we will get through the next. I use the term "former-USA" because all unity has now been lost and we will never regain it.

"On a few alleged occasions over the last six months of war in Ukraine, Russia has been accused of launching hypersonic missiles on Ukrainian targets; however, the Pentagon has downplayed that it's not a gamechanger.

"But such an intentionally publicized move as placing hypersonic missile armed MiG fighters on 'alert' at Russia's Baltic outpost is an escalatory move aimed at NATO and Ukraine's Western backers which have been ramping up longer-range missile and weapons shipments to Kiev. I just went online and searched to find out how many days worth of food most households have on-hand. I thought for sure that I could find some statistics. I must have gone through 15 varying search strings. No data. Couldn't find anything other than speculation.

Seems most "expert" opinions would put the number of days at three, on the outside a week's worth of food. Grocery stores are the same, they do not keep more than a week's worth. Perishables, one understands. The entire food chain, farm to family, is a tenuous entity.

By definition, preppers understand how brittle the system is, however the majority of citizens haven't a clue.

Right now, our site has 80 visitors. Often this number goes up over 100, even 120 or more. For any of you visitors who are still riding the fence on whether to store food or how much you should store, I'm now going to provide two links that are royal wake-up calls for people to get ready for food-supply break-downs. Not only do bad things happen on this planet, catastrophic things happen and perpetually so.

2023: Russia's invasion of Ukraine has already cut food supplies by at least 20%. Fuel supplies needed to deliver what food is available have also taken major hits. Truckers are looking at staggering increases in what they pay for fuel. Many will no longer be able to afford to go on and will thus go bankrupt. The storage of fuel for trucking and our diesel-electric train systems has been compromised to a degree that threatens deliveries of food products.

Spain is a comparatively poor country. Unemployment is high, very high for under 21's with much work being seasonal. The benefit payments for the unemployed is low forcing families sometimes having to move in with the grandparents.

That said the people in general seem happy and they have a good universal healthcare system in place which is really considered a basic human right, school system is good (I'm told) and the people still retain strong family values which gives strength when times are tough.
