Hello, I'm Kevin. I live in south central Alaska. I am a backcountry guide. Being prepared is a way of life for me because my clients depend on me to take them there and bring them back!

Too bad he didn't stick around. There would have been enough Alaskans here to have a sure 'nuff rendezvous! Unfortunately, he stayed less than a week...two years ago.

Hey, I’m still around. My life has been pretty crazy the last few years. I’m just now getting things calmed down so I can relax a while. As time goes I’ll be checking in more often, and hopefully adding to some conversations.

 

Kevin, Tell the story about throwing your nice new'ish 44 Magnum revolver in the ocean, in an effort to survive.

I didn’t actually throw it. It was on my hip when I went overboard. I had to lose the gun belt and knee boots so I could keep my head above water. There is nothing like falling into 35f water to make you appreciate being dry and warm. A year or two later I was back at that place and was able to retrieve what was left of the gun and the knife that was with it.

Wow...I don't know what is more amazing: how you saved your life by losing your gun, or the fact that you were able to get (what was left) of your stuff...

He has a lot of survival stories and Alaska adventures. Including saving people who trusted him with their life in the Alaska wilderness when thing go sideways and equipment breaks. Kevin is the genuine person that you want to be on his team. And you damn sure don't want to discover that Kevin is on the opposition team.
