I just realized that I didn't do an introduction post yet. My name is Tessa, and I'm right on the Gulf Coast of Florida. I live minutes from the water, and enjoy kayaking and exploring the area. I garden and keep chickens, and we spend a lot of time outdoors as a family, hiking and birdwatching.

One of my biggest interests is learning about the tribes that inhabited Florida prior to European contact. It's sad, but most Floridians know absolutely nothing about any of the local indigenous people prior to the Seminoles. I think that studying the distant past can help us in the future, especially when you're learning about cultures that adapted to your specific climate and environment. What worked well for the people who flourished here before paved roads and electricity just might be what saves us if those things go away.
