    Good morning all,

The hurricane party definitely ties into mental preparedness.

    Article per titles.

The prepper aspects: ",..hurricane parties can be a deeply communal ritual inextricably bound with storm preparation".

A funny term: "hedonistic coastal residents".

Wasn't drinking alcoholic beverages an "acceptable social behavior during Prohibition" ?

Hurricane parties on military bases ?! on oil rigs ?!

Was Mary Ann's sofa cushion USCG compliant ?

Note: "a collision between survival and leisure".

I used to love hurricane parties. I am not as social anymore, but I still like storms very much. In my younger days, I would party on the beach for cat 1s and 2s. Now, I tend to avoid the beaches for anything more than a tropical storm.
