Looks like that little beast is going to rake the entire East Coast!!! Batten down the hatches. We used to have hurricane parties when it was a tropical storm or a Cat 1. I used to go to the beach and fish for Bull Reds as soon as the storm had made landfall. Great time to fish. that said sometimes the tropical storms were worse than the cat 1 to 2 hurricanes. A lot of them are slow-moving and will drop 24" of rain in a day. Harvey was a cat 4 or 5 and dropped between 5 and 6 FEET of water on Houston. I'm about a hundred miles north of Galveston and we got about 2 feet. At least our floods are freshwater. Those folks on the barrier islands will get flooded by saltwater and that just messes everything up.

Take care Snyper, summer storms will chase all of the snakes out of the marshes and they are especially ill-tempered when that happens. let us know when it has passed you and finished.

The worst part was from around 11 PM Monday to 4 AM today.
We lost power at 1 AM.

I started the generator about 6 Am and ran it for about 12 hours until power was restored.

I was surprised at how little damage there was at my place when areas close by were hit hard with tornadoes.

The eye passed 40 miles to my West

I got lucky this time because it move through so quickly.

Not much damage around here and we only momentarily lost power....

Have a large tree in my back yard which fell from two lots over....

It is going to take some doing to get it cleaned up....and hence I will take my time with this labor...

Continue watching and or monitoring the National Hurricane Center....to see what is happening out in the Atlantic..
