With the base being economic, political and strategic interests augmented by the coronavirus pandemic and ecological collapse, aforesaid doesn not enhance weapons systems like the F35. It is not stealth with external arms stores. A Chinese DF-21, at less that 1% of enemy target cost, eg a carrier, does readjust bearings to avoid it.

What with the collectivists in Congress wanting to print trillions of unbacked dollars, the U.S. dollar will soon be worth toilet paper. Which, if you think about it, may not be so bad. If dollars are more available than toilet paper, people will at least be able to pull some rag paper out of their billfolds and purses and wipe themselves with it.

People who build things for the military want to be paid, however. Toilet paper won't cut it ... if you know what I mean. Military might means more than a bluff. You gotta be able to kill lots of people and break lots of things. That can get expensive.

Might makes right. We'll see how the world's economies do in the coming months.
