Just like in most of my threads, the bamboo is an important material when in the woods. It can serve as food, implements and even shelter. For making a canopy when you have no tent, get a bamboo pole and make it into long strips of 2 inch width. The best place to make the canopy is under a tree. Attach the bamboo strips to the tree and make a pole to hold the other end of the strips. Add some strips horizontally so it becomes a trellis. Now you can gather big leaves, dry or fresh, to serve as the roofing. That can protect you against the rain.
