    You can easily make your own fuel in the wild to create a fire that lasts. Cheap briquettes can be made by mixing the dung of wild animals with small pebble sized pieces of wood. You can substitute the dung with mud and then dry in the sun. There burn much longer than wood or charcoal alone only that they don't flame much but they have a hot glow.
