Article tells of difference between pneumonia plague and bubonic plague.

Were 4th century plague doctors different than today's ?

Although end-times might be arriving, one's end of vital signs will have less to do with the various plagues and more so with some little old lady from Pasadena equivalent driving her 1965 Chevy Impala to the liquor store for resupply of slo gin. Don't discriminate. She was driving only at point 5 alcohol ....... and point fifty five phenobarbital.

The article quotes the U.S CDC :
According to the Centre for Disease Control (CDC) in the US, the plague is treatable with antibiotics.

The CDC advises the earlier people seek treatment, the more likely it is they will make a full recovery.

Those who come into close contact with plague victims may need preventative antibiotic therapy.

I would not be the least bit surprised to have cases of plague occur here given the homeless situation in California.
